Hi @chubber23 - Thanks for your interest and thanks for watching. Most of the trees are made using Woodland Scenics tree armatures and foam rubber that I grind up in an old junk blender. I dye the ground foam green using ordinary latex interior house paint. I consider the trees to be just so-so. But they are cheap and given the number I need, they are an acceptable compromise. Bill R
Yes, top speed and low speed performance were dramatically improved. Also make sure the power pickup wipers on the drivers are not too tight. My locos are all second run. IIf you have the first run, the gearing will also have to be changed. As I said earlier, your best bet would be to contact Intermountain directly.
The the train with the Daylight colors is the Shasta Daylight. I built all of the cars except the observation. I used Union Station Products styrene care sides and generic car core kits from Eastern Car Works. The observation is a brass import.
Great video. Question about the Intermountain AC 12. As model locomotive , can the Intermountain AC 12 pull this 13 car train alone? I assume that your layout grades are between 1-2%.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Just a couple of more question. Using the Mashima motor: Did really improved the running quality of AC 12? Low speed and torque? Second, is this second Intermountain release? Is it easier to access the mechanical guts? The first one has some some of components that were glued instead of expected screwed.
The grade is 2.5% and with only one locomotive and 13 passenger cars, the train isn't going anywhere. The loco does not stall, the drivers just slip and spin.
One last question: Great Daylight Cascade train. Can you tell about the maker of those cars? Baggage postal? Coach: Are those Genesis? How about diner? The observation, is that a BLI?
Love the passenger trains. This is an awesome layout.
The carts look so detailed and heavy/high quality, no color bleeds either
Great clip on a beautiful layout. Enjoyed the meet starting around 3:22, but the tunnel scenes and the sound was marvelous.
Wonderful video sir the chase scene is fantastic.
Love the video... sounds are great.... detailing is very good. Still working on my layout... N scale.

hi there was wondering how you made your trees
Yes, I meant Shasta. Very impressive work. I wonder if there is a kit for 3/4 dome car. Do you have any info?

Bill you must have lived in Klamath falls some time in the 40 to 5os I bet?

I do not know of any kits.
Was that a different kind of Cab forward locomotive at the end?
I see Sp4449 daylight at 3:48 you should try the to Sp trains double heading
@TheRACINGRANDY I'm thinking of doing that with a cabforward helper...
Just imagine if this was real
No - HO
Faster faster
Think from the scale of the model train people, that’d be ridiculously fast then.
