I have come across quite a few photographic channels but in my opinion yours is the only real / realistic one. I can not understand why you have so few followers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Thank you so much..!! ☺️ Hopefully I will get there eventually.. I'm so glad you enjoy the video and thank you for dropping me a line. Best wishes to you, g
Brilliant, Very Helpful And Informative. Great Video, I Alwas Like To Keep Clothes Pegs In My Camera Bag. Simply, Yet A Great Accessory With Cam Nets. Many Thanks For Sharing George.
Thanks so much Paul.. much appreciated..! Good tip on the clothes pegs. for similar uses I have a couple of bulldog clips in my kitbag. Thanks for taking the time to drop me a line. g
I especially like that last one. I do pretty much all the others but it’s a good refresher cause sometimes I get lazy with it all. But gr8 video. I’d like to get the same rain cover at the end because I pretty much have the exact same setup as you, which is kinda funny. I just found you today!
I can't agree more with regard to tripods George. I'm probably pretty old fashioned and maybe a little slow in taking on board new technology but I do strongly believe that even the best image stabilisation technology cannot immobilise a camera as effectively as a tripod. So despite the inconvenience I always use one. Bean bags are a godsend and I seem to have more than my fair share. Singles, doubles and A shaped all feature in my collection. I too have a poncho in the car although mine looks to be somewhat heavier than yours. Very effective at keeping self and gear dry but I may well look into getting a lighter one. Also mine is a dark olive green and not camo pattern. Binoculars I use but have sacrificed range over weight so use 8x32. Scrim net is a given 😊. I have the same rainsleeves as you and they work very well, my only gripe being turning the lens/camera from horizontal to vertical orientation can sometimes be a little bit of a faff. Para cord and a pocket knife / multi tool are essentials for me too. I'm just hoping for the opportunity to actually get out and do some photography soon as health issues have curtailed my activities this year! Anyways, I'm enjoying your videos as always. Very best wishes.
Hey Robert..! Thx for your reply and sorry to hear about your health issues.. I've been through the mill myself a few times in the last few years so I know the frustration..! Hope you can put all that behind you soon..! Wishing you well. g
Really interesting film George, thanks for sharing it with us. I don’t know why more people don’t use rain covers, I know for instance Nikon considers their warranty void if you subject their gear to rain etc, the cameras and lenses are designed to be splash proof not used in torrential rain like some people seem to think! I used to get netting, scrim and hides etc from a great company called Wildlife Watching Supplies in Poddington, Devon in the UK, I think they’re sill going! Enjoying seeing your videos, thanks for sharing them! 👏😀👍
What is your preferred fluid head? Also none of the Amazon links work for me (I'm in Thailand but even if I change delivery country, I still cant see the link - though these links do work in your website article)
Hey Mark.. thanks for your question and letting me know about the links.. I'll check them again. In truth the "fluid" head I'm using is not a true fluid head.. it's more of what is called a "friction" head but is what is available at my budget and I didn't want to get into a drawn out conversation about those subtleties in this video. That said, at the budget end for a true fluid head I would go for something like a Manfrotto 504HD at approx $350... a mid range one that I enjoyed using on a job was the SCG T8 by Smooth Camera Gear, which I think is about $600... and the most expensive one I have used was a Sachtler (though I cant remember the exact model I think it was about $1500 when I looked it up at the time). all the best, g
Dear Alexandre & Chloe.. thank you for your question. If I understand correctly I think you are talking about the mounting system for my camera and lens.. in which case, these are the parts I use: Base Plate for Camera: amzn.to/3NM34yK 15mm rods to support lens: amzn.to/3CPxie9 Lens support: amzn.to/3qXlILf Straps: amzn.to/43XXsau Follow Focus Wheel: amzn.to/46yXdo6 Depending on your tripod you may not need the velcro straps.. I use it to make sure the lens rests tightly on the lens support which helps reduce wobble even more. I hope that has answered your question. best wishes g

👍🙏
good video! keep posting!
Thank you.. will do..!
I take a paint brush in my bag, great for cleaning sand and dirt from body & lens.
Great tip Alan..! Thank you 😊

Hello, thank you for your very interesting video! I would like to know what is the reference or name? Two straps around the lens and two bars?
Dear Alexandre & Chloe.. thank you for your question. If I understand correctly I think you are talking about the mounting system for my camera and lens.. in which case, these are the parts I use:
Base Plate for Camera: amzn.to/3NM34yK

Straps: amzn.to/43XXsau
Follow Focus Wheel: amzn.to/46yXdo6
Depending on your tripod you may not need the velcro straps.. I use it to make sure the lens rests tightly on the lens support which helps reduce wobble even more.
I hope that has answered your question.
best wishes

@@GeorgeSBlonsky Yes that's fine !!! Thank you very much for your help, I will place an order very soon :)
@@GeorgeSBlonsky Just one last question, do you have the reference of the manfrotto plate? Because I have the same video head
Hi.. yes of course.. it's this one.. there's different sizes but I use the 30cm one to make sure it's long enough for my lens: amzn.to/433lvDw
A year after posting your liknk to the equipment no longer work 😢
Thanks for letting me know Ray.. I’ll sort the links out this evening 🙏
Hi again Ray.. all links repaired.. hopefully they will work again now. Thanks again for letting me know.
