Hello John; Since the beginning of time men have been working the earth and been worked by women. HA HA. I enjoy your videos because you do almost everything on them. From messing with varmints to like today digging potatoes. It's never boring in your videos. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi John, I just finished digging my potatoes last week. I plant kenebecks. I only planted 12lb of seed this year. I have been doing it for 55years. I had 4 forty foot rows. When my dad was alive we planted 100lb of seed potatoes. We dug them all with forks or shovels. I have the same problem as you with rocks. I think they breed and multiply!
John your not the only one that plays in the dirt like you, I been doing it since back in the 50’s when I helped my Grand Pa in his garden. We even sifted all the rocks out one spring , sifted ever square inch. lots of rocks
When I was kid my Grandfather raised crates and crates of potatoes and put them under the house where it was cool and dark. As we used them he would go and pick through them, selecting the ones that had little rot spots. My grandmother would cut out the rot and cook the rest. At the end of the season we always had some left over. He was Depression Era frugal and could not bring himself to throw away the ones with the rot spots, so we ate "rotten" potatoes all year.
John, that was a great big "GOTCHA" she laid on you. My wife does the same thing though. That's why I have problems trying to get things done too. Bill
i think you got played it has happen to us all. when they say we need to do this or that it mean's you. nice potatoes we gave growing them got less than we planted last 2 year. deer eat up every thing here too and tear down fences . hope her arm is ok. take care, be safe and well.
I'm sure digging this video John. You found bark, hmm, since you have potato trees do you have those trees that money grows on too? 😊 I think some of your videos need to be shown in schools, let these kids who can work but won't do it see that there is success in dirty fingers and sweaty brows. Much more rewarding than video games IMO. Watching you crawl around has my knees swelling and my back aching, you are the man!
I think she started to get allergic after you said that women should dig the dirt to help their nails. probably wrong, but 2 cents aren't what they used to be.
hi there they did dig a few up but not many but 2 years ago they didn't eat the plants , last was the first time in 30 years , thanks for stopping in john
John, I’m half Irish so this video bordered on pornography for me 😁 Too bad your deer developed a taste for potato greens, some of the spuds you grew in the past in rows in the big field were huge!
