I have 9 of the Zeta/Toyworld gray panels and have been searching for more. I can't find them anywhere. I figured that since I haven't seen them in anyone's display pictures that I could find some used ones. I found a couple that were either 20 bucks each or coming from China with a June delivery date. I install tile for a living and have a few ideas about building something custom.
Thanks... Just picked up a few backdrops from Toyhax... forgot all about them till ya mentioned it. Wish I did that before I bought the Ubiquitous Light Up diorama. That thing took all day to put together. Great vids and topics as always
Great video Mike! This is where I am at with my collection. I need to create backgrounds that give my collection some life. I am definitely going to checkout some of these alternatives. I do some scenery building for tabletop games so I might try my hand at that too. Great suggestions and I appreciate your thoughts.
Some of the idea's I've been playing around with/stealing from other collectors. I really like the Marvel comics displayed in the background idea. I've also been mulling over an idea using Industrial schematics/blueprints/patent print art. Right now I've got some large coffee table books of classic cars/history of the car kind of stuff well printed with good art open as backdrops that I think can look nice I just haven't got quite right yet(spacing, figure density, lighting ect).
One set I use is Zeta Toys' Bar Scene they released a couple of years ago which also included a Decepticon throne with an LED light function. It's meant for Legends-scale which is what I mainly use it for, but it also works well for my MakeToys Swerve and my Lost Light crew that are mostly CHUG Legends and Deluxes as a version of his bar. I agree though, whenever you can make something yourself for your displays it is that much more satisfying.
i used my 3d printing machine to build my dioramas. I found an entire enterprise D bridge on yeggi for free ..Resized the pieces on Cura and repainted them.. It's a good option for making flat panels as well..
I printed the entire teletran 1 project that is posted on Thingyverse. I used an entire role of filament cost me like 25 buscks. If you collect transformers you should check out the transformers section on Thingyverse, and Cults3D. Take special note of the work done by Firetox.
Gotta get that throne 4 Megatron I already have an m.p.head of Optimus Prime from T.E.01 and Megatron holding his head sitting on the throne 🔥🔥🔥👍LOVE MY DECEPTICONS👍👍
I started out with KO Mechanical Chain Bases (which i think were for Gundam) and have also tried colour printouts and Extreme Sets. Now I'm sick of it all and prefer plain shelving :)
Some good display options here but I would like to make side of an autobot ship with the ramp down and auto bots getting off sort of like when Prime and Sunstreaker and also hound I think show up in the 86 movie but have it with all the 84 and 85 crew you know with ramp that gives me something to elevate and give a difference in height to the display and I can have some pointing there guns in the air protecting or getting ready to protect the others still getting off from an air attack and the same with some readying for a ground assault
I have a stack of Zeta EX bases that I never bothered to open. Dioramas are cool, but something about it kind of cheapens the figures for me -- like you could replace the $200 figures with cheap non-poseable stand-ins and it would probably look even better. I don't like long-term displays either, so that's another con for dioramas. I like to enjoy a figure for about a month and then put it away when I notice I no longer stare at it when I walk by.
diss-play... that's how it sounds... it makes me giggle every time. but that announcer style high inflections at the end of comments is a bit... 70s game show prize announcer guy. but keep the content coming.... also have u been considered as a hoarder by anyone in your family?.. some people could see the collecting as a hoarding disorder. I have been asked if I was but my collection is still manageable... take care and stay safe
Which Optimus are you talking about? There is always a new prime but MP44 is the last prime in the MP scale but there is a pretty good Orion Pax out recently
Enjoy your passion and consistency over the years. Keep it up.
Appreciate it! This is a fun hobby.

Such an amazing way to build a display. 3d printing would have so many advantages for world building! Thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 thanks for answering back and great work on the video..

So true there are many great 3d printed items out there. I may have to get into that soon. Thanks
Might check out the hangar displays kotobukia do for Gundam displays
you can scan the new age throne and scale it up ( 3d printing), to your liking. there are many shops that will do it and print it up for you as well 👍

I needed this video!!!! You ROCK!!!
I'm also thinking of attempting to print off different backgrounds for my shelves. Including beach scenes for some statues I have.
That would look awesome! Love to see it when you are done!
It blew my mind those background drops
Hope you got some good ideas from this
@@tydiriumhanger1320 nah but for emgo tho

@@tydiriumhanger1320 you need to take a look at the Fext Hobby sci-04 display set

I have 3 or 4 of the toyhax ones they r great
Those look top notch and all the stickers I have gotten from them are very professional.
Space is just a big problem for most collectors who want to make a diorama.
toyhax shipping costs are beyond stupid for international.
why not use a cheap lcd tv as a back drop so easy to change the background image ;)

Hey what’s with that new masterpiece optimus?
Can you interpret if for us less educated transformer fans lol

Are you referring to the new MPM Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime?
BTW, That MMC Orion Pax does look awesome. I’ll probably buy him.
