My 2006 1.8 petrol Civic has done 150,000 miles and doesn’t have any issues with the car, although rear axel is now corroded, E10 petrol has knocked out fuel injectors so I only use premium E5 petrol, only wear and tear item was new clutch at 117k Miles These Civic’s are a great car only if they’re looked after
I've been following this on the forum, I think it's got the basis of a really good car but it's such a shame sellers can't just be honest. I always point out faults on cars I sell because I want the buyer to be happy with what they are getting. Hope the new loom sorts the issues.
I have a diesel 2.2. my air con doesn't work and the radio sometimes switches off. But it runs amazing, never had a problem with it running. I got it stage 1 tuned from 140hp to 180hp and 340nm of torque to 420nm. It's unfortunate that the previous owner was not honest
@@Joe-cb3ws the fuel economy is the same. In fact I went back home so carefully that I got 70mpg, there was some parts of the journey where I was coasting
Haha funny enough I got a 2.2 diesel civic from dealer and my boot was leaking water in from broken seals, didn't realise until I went to car wash after warranty.
Did you ever sort it? @split_pin I recently got a 2.2 derv boot wont open with switch, switch gets power, but doesn't seem to work, thought bridging across switch might work but it doesn't, I can't have a boot I have to open from inside. Have as a temp measure put a cable tie around the manual release, so I can open from outside.. but it doesn't actually lock, so if I'm parked and someone pulls it, they'll be in lol pulling my hair out with it, doesn't seem to be much on UA-cam about fixing these cars.

So you didn't test drive it with the boot issue before purchasing it? So you're lucky the boot lock is the only issue.

Cheers, I know I'll get there in the end! Karma will no doubt catch up with the seller one day :)

Sound mate, reviews on the stage 1? Waiting to pull the trigger, usual clutch concerns.
Is it really worth what people say it is?
@@Joe-cb3ws yea the clutch is now slipping in 5th and 6th gear
@@bowches mileage? And does the map genuinely make the car perform better, excluding the clutch slip
@@Joe-cb3ws i feel it does pull a little harder

It's got a lot worse now! I will get to the bottom of it though :)
