Had my Stealth for almost a year. Believe me the guy doing test ride did not do it justice. This beauty does everything and power delivery is stunning and linear. Pops and crackles on decelarate...and pops massive on upshift to 3rd. And....looks bloody gorgeous! Best bike i've had love it!!
I am an 821 owner. I bought it one year ago and for me it is the perfect naked. Powerful and nimble! The only negative point is that “cool” exhaust is hot as hell man!
Termi racing pipe + up map I had the 821 for a bit over 4 years and although I can’t tell u anything about other exhaust/map combinations the termi’s race has only one negative being the price tag but it comes with a map... temp gets high in the city but when on the move never an issue for me. Maybe check your oil/coolant levels. If you need to add coolant follow the company’s suggestions and don’t mix coolants (can’t stress this enough) and enjoy..
I'm facing the same dilemma right now. I've been looking for a second bike that will be used for traffic/lane splitting in Los Angeles. I have the BMW R1250GS but regardless of what people say, it is sometimes too wide for lane splitting properly. Anyway, it between the Monster 1200/821, Yamaha XSR900, Honda CB1000R and maybe a select few others. Can't make up my mind!
Got the 2019 monster 821 matte black as my beginner bike. Dropped it on the first day😂, luckily only one mirror got damaged. I replaced both mirror the next day. I’ve been with it for over a year and put almost 2k miles and every time I ride it is the best experience ever. I would like to try a Panigale V4 tho.
@@ericbriones5161 it wasn’t about the power. I tried to park it in my garage while riding it and the front tire slid. It was more lack of skill than power. I recommend it as a beginner bike but treat it with respect. I started with the urban riding mode then switched to touring after a few months, I recently switched to sport.
Nice video. I have 2014 Monster 821 and it's my first bike after I past the test. The beauty of modern motorcycling is riding modes 😁 I used it on a Urban mode for the good 3-4 months and now use the other modes. Just control your hands don't listen that lovely engine singing to open the throttle 😜
Ive been riding dirt bikes for 7 years and i want this bike for my first street bike. People say it will be too much but i think i have enough experience to ride a monster 821. Thoughts anyone?
@@jonathanjones4591 You'll be fine, the throttle starts at zero. There are three driving modes where Urban is 75% of full power output, also there's traction control so driving is relatively easy. I very quickly warmed up to mine. It's choppy below 4k rpm, but you get used to that.
@@mauriciofelix213 It could be due to them being relatively loud. The DB killers are very easily installed though, just insert and tighten one screw, these muffles the exhaust a bit.
Bought a yellow 821 last month put 800 miles on it in two weeks. Unfortunately was rear ended and bike totaled last week. Thinking of getting the Stealth 821 as a replacement. just waiting on settlement but there will bee a new 821 in the near future
Nice bike, nice review. Got a nice burbling exhaust note. What's that I'm seeing at 8:50 at your 1 o'clock? Seems like an aircraft but at a high AOA. Airport nearby?
I have ridden both and the street triple I think is way more comfortable and the power being a larger engine makes a much smoother and safer ride. Each to their own I suppose
I bought a brand New 2019 Honda CB1000-R. VERY HAPPY WITH IT. NEVER TEMPTED BY THE Ducati or the BMW. If i were to be tempted it would only be by The Triumph 😉
The exhaust heat is not so bad unless your heavy traffic but you can still tolerate it. The handle bar vibe was bad for me first couple days on the throttle side. Once I rode it more and got use to the engine harmonics my hand kept feeling less numb. But the 821 pulls like a animal in 1st and 2nd especially ! Wants to rip your arms off at WOT. Had her up to 133 mph. I think it does need a steering damper. Front seems light to me @ WOT.
@@alexalexeev695 im asking about euro 5 edition as you know in india euro 4 bikes are banned unless euro 5 bikes arrive we gotta wait 😒😒 and a new monster is spied naa
Do not dude for first bike get the 797 instead if you have to monster on your first bike. But it's your choice at the end of the day what you buy. But my opinion I would not buy this as first bike. Unless you ride it in Urban mode for 6 months plus. The tour and Sport as you get use to the power delivery.
@@brent545 it is definitely scary 1st 2 months but after that its ok. I bought it as my 1st bike after 30 years not riding and i love it. Ride safe every one!!
The 821 isn’t a sports power house by any means but it’s definitely not a good first bike especially if you get too excited with the throttle.. I went 659 first And it was a great progression👍
You can get it as a first bike. It has different modes available. So when you get it, I suggest putting it in urban mode and riding it in that mode until you get comfortable. Then move it to Touring mode and sport after that. I say get it because it makes no sense to get a 797 when as your skills progress you may want to upgrade. I know because I have one and have had it for 2 years. Ronal, I was considering this as my first starter bike. What happened that caused you to drop it on the first day? Is it too much power?
