    I bought an 821 as my first bike. After 3 months I still use Urban mode and, for me, it's fast enough for now. Other bikes I've tried are all easier to ride, but my Monster gives me lots of smiles under my helmet.

    In Australia, a beginner bike is anything that makes under 50HP and is under 660cc. The M821 would be illegal for a beginner to ride. We have a 3 year restricted license for beginners. After 3 years we can ride anything over 660cc.
    Great review though. I love the 821!

    Love my stealth! Picked mine up in July, awesome bike for sure, I'm coming off sport bikes been riding for about 14yrs... you certainly could have this as a first bike (rec to start in urban mode) baby monster might be a better choice. That being said if you're smart about it you'll be fine. I started on an CBR F4i. Cheers...ps you weren't using DQS man ?? I love that feature ;)

      I started off on crotch rockets myself (07 Honda CBR600RR) but then in 2016 got me a Harley 48 Sportser 1200 cuz im getting older and would like more of a comfortable ride. Loved that 48 but had to off it last year cuz i had other financial obligations to take care of. And im so used to regular shifting that i kept forgetting to try out the DQS on the test ride hahah

    Hi, I am thinking about buying a motorcycle, I did not drive 5 years, I am interested in the ducati monster 821 or 1200 s, before that I rode the ktm duke 690, triumph street triple r, I like the 1200s more but I do not know if it is too strong, I live in NY and I need a motorcycle to travel to work

    • @Avionyx
      @Avionyx  4 роки тому +3

      I would go with the 821, you won't be disappointed. I've owned a Honda CBR600RR and a Harley Davidson 48 Sportser (1200). The 821 still has enough power and very comfy for traffic and not hot in the seat.

    • @onlyfoolriding8223

      Go used. Plenty of seriously low mile bikes that are wayyyyyy cheaper than buying new. Dealerships bend you over bigly when you buy new.

    • @kentpaynekentp2147
      @kentpaynekentp2147 4 роки тому +3

      I own the 821. LOVE IT. The 1200 offers Urban mode also cutting its power. Thus allowing you to break in the bike. However the 821 would be more powerful and more comfortable than the KTM 690. I am 5’7” so the KTM 790 (newer model) was not a good fit.

    • @Avionyx
      @Avionyx  4 роки тому +2

      I'm thinking to go with the 1200 as I'm a seasoned rider already. Would love to have the extra power while still being in a comfy sitting posture.

      I am a beginner and looking to buy my first bike. And I find this bike has urban mode, touring mode and sports mode. It is sounds very good, so I can grew up with it. for example,I can use urban mode at the first year,and later I can change to different mode if I get more experiences. I can release all the power in the future. Do you think is it true?

    • @JessiesMusic
      @JessiesMusic 3 роки тому

      @@henrywang1538 If you have no background on riding motorcycles, start with the lighter ones. You can always upgrade once you have your skill up and are comfortable with smaller bikes. Yes riding mode helps, but that doesnt teach you the correct physics of riding a bike. This ones too heavy and too big for a newbie to start with. Plus its easier to ride a small bike fast, than a big bike slow...

    Don’t buy new unless you’re wealthy and don’t care about depreciation on a non income producing asset. As a new rider you will end up dropping your bike at some point and you will feel sick after dropping your new $13k Ducati.

      Got the 821 and I can't understand why people talk about hot in ducatis ...
      If we were talking about air cooling motorbikes it can make sense but really, I use the monster 821 for everything and it is not hot for me.

    • @Avionyx
      @Avionyx  4 роки тому

      The "hot" is more associated with the sport bikes. I test rode the Panigale V2 and you can really feel it since the exhaust pipe is literally underneath the seat.

  • @rickwaldner8078
    @rickwaldner8078 3 роки тому

    this is at a dealership? they should know better, the 821 is definitely NOT a started bike in any means. stop trying to sell the wrong bike to the wrong people!!! first off, lots of power and geared low, front wheel comes up when you punch it. it takes seconds to hit 150kmh on this bike and its top speed is well over 200kmh. i drove a 300cc bike until i was far past its limits before i trusted my self with buying the 821 monster. plus if you dump it, you are fixing a $15000 bike instead of a $5000 bike, for shit sake, I run with a group of s1000rr bikes and under 200kmh, i keep pace just fine ! there is NO WAY IN H*#L i will let a new rider try my bike.

      @@Avionyx are you talking to me? and yeah, i did, watched the whole video. most countries excluding America, actually know what a beginner bike is, they make you start out on small displacement bikes, the monster is not far off of a liter bike. and I own this bike, its not a beginner bike, not even close. besides you calling it a beginner bike, the rest of the video was good tho, did a good job going over the bike details
