Mark Hamill is the man. Despite being a movie icon and a legend, the man couldn’t be more humble and grounded.

"if there is any lasting legacy of the character" is a phrase which speaks volumes about how Mark feels. He will always represent the best of Star Wars, bar none.

Yes and you both missed out the key point that he said Jedi's are human and make mistakes. Stop trying to turn your thoughts into his . He pretty clearly stated and shows he has come to terms with why Luke did what he did - if your a good actor, it's your job to carry out what the writers want to the best of your ability. Luke had did what every normal person does when they lose everything, they give up, become depressed and make stupid decisions. For some reason you all think Luke is still a kid or something.

I think it's to avoid obvious spoilers since their answers are quite descriptive. I wasn't confused per se, since I've seen the movie a couple of times now. Otherwise, I would've been. Perhaps they can re-release these interviews with the questions after the movie has had it's run in theatres.
1:15 He IS a symbol of optimism and ever will be Mark! The old films are masterpieces, so moving because the characters are given room to breathe, to develop. I´m a teacher and one of the most intelligent young boys in my class was wearing a star wars t-shirt. I asked him: "Which movie(s) of the series do you like the best?", because I overheard him explaining to one of his friends that films 1-3 are "actually not the first ones". Of course I would have supported every answer, important thing is that they are having fun, but when he explained he liked the old one with Yoda on the swamp planet best, I really was smiling inside.
You can see that Mark cares and you don´t need to be a genius to know what he thinks about TLJ, but the old trilogy is still there and nothing can ever change that.
I'm so satisfied with where Luke's character ended up, with his sister and friends celebrating victory over the Emperor and Empire, seeing his mentors and fathers spirits... So nice!
Really a perfect ending to the 6-movie saga! I sure hope they don't make anymore.

It would help if they had the question or at least "On....the topic" because Daisy talks about like 5 different people and she only names Chris and Oscar. I'm guessing she's talking about Mark Hamill's granddaughter and the fight scene with Adam...but the way it's edited, it's not entirely clear
It's not Mark Hamill she's talking about, but Anthony Daniels most likely. She mentions getting out of a speeder, so that narrows it down significantly. Especially her continuation about how emotional and strong his scenes where. That's definitely about Daniels' scenes later on in the movie.

Dream on, but for me everything was broken when Solo died before he and Luke could get their reunion. It broke my heart! So I have no hope. The dream died with George when Disney took over. At least for me.

I think Rey was the best out of the last trilogy, they could've made beautiful things with such a character. However turned out to be disastrous. An idea was Rey to be part of the millenium crew....Han, Chewie and Rey....such a motley crew 😁

Finally some real interviews! No non-answers or "I can't comment", but pretty on-point and in-depth commentary from these two (if you've seen the movie, you'll know what scenes and who they're talking about). So thank you for this!
I'm so sick of the haters on the final series. They were really good movies, and for my money the acting in them was actually better than the OG series. I watched SW IV in 1977 when I was 10, and each one thereafter multiple times in the theater, and those films are some of the best in my childhood generation. But if those movies came out today, the internet haters and fanbois of Marvel would all trash those too. Fact. Daisy and Adam's characters, arcs, and especially their acting in this series, and especially in SW IX, were fantastic. You haters go on hating, I loved it.
Thank you. I'm mostly sick of the toxic fans who just love to insult others. I'm glad there are level headed OG trilogy fans who actually lived in the 70s. I was born in 85 and grew up loving on the OG but even I can see how flawed those were too. These haters are so dramatic. They're constantly screaming "they ruined SW," "They betrayed Mark Hamill," and so on. It's ok not to like a film and lay out the reasons why but damn, "betray" Mark? Really? That's so absurd. The movies had flaws but these people make it out to be like they'er some dumpster fire with the intent of trashing and hurting others. It's the same kind of people that were harassing poor Jake and Ahmed after all the backlash from Episode I. It's just how they did with Kelly Marie Tran. Toxic fandom at its finest. I didn't like her character either but I'm not shitting on her social media or the entire saga because of it.
The Last Jedi to me is almost up there with Empire, flaws and all. I loved seeing Yoda busting Luke's balls again. And Luke's character arch wasn't disrespectful or all that far fetched considering how much the Jedi order really did mess up during the Clone Wars. I personally didn't like Rise of Skywalker but you don't see me being toxic about it.

I'm sure we are all finding it humorous and funny that the first living legend truly has the scoop and the necessary know how of the entire journey and story wow the other definitely is still growing in knowledge of the journey!) Their relationship which will hopefully truly and fully be revealed as if many of us who are smart enough don't already know helps and makes the relationship that both have on Achto and translated into our world!) It's great stepping and being invited into a vast universe and not really having that much info about too much of anything besides the name which everybody shares but it's another thing when you are at the beginning stages and this thus makes you still one of the Great Sages of philosophical wisdom on how the story should be and beyond!)
The film made me cry, especially as Carrie Fisher has passed away and I grew up watching the films

I felt this movie did the best it could picking up the pieces left over from Rian's destruction. I'm satisfied with the ending and felt that JJ did a good job with everybody, especially Leia. Her ending was just right. Is it better than The Last Jedi? 100%, yes. Is it better than The Force Awakens? Almost, but not quite, but still satisfying.

@@TudBoatTed But check this out: When the new series "Ahsoka" was announced they showed the title card for it and what is in the background of that title card? The "Veil of the Force". The same one that was used in The Clone Wars to explain alternate universes/dimensions. Makes you wonder why they would have that there if they weren't going to do anything with it. Plus, the fan base was severely divided after The Last Jedi came out. Disney/Lucasfilm is no doubt aware of this and also ware of the fact that a lot of people will be boycotting any Star Wars movie(s) that Rian Johnson is associated with. I think it would be in Disney's best interest to do the reset AND take any movies or trilogies away from RUIN Johnson.

Yeah, I think recently JJ and the whole cast started following Mark's lead from a couple of years ago and threw shade at The Last Jedi in some interviews I've seen for Rise of Skywalker.

JJ fixed star wars for me. He should've gotten all 3 movies, now he had to make two movies in one. All things considering, he did a great job, and i loved the movie. Will go and see Rise of Skywalker a third time next week. What i like most about it is that it finally reveals what Palpatine was talking about in the opera in episode 3.

After seeing episode 4, I thought Star Wars was over (The end).
But pod racing.... Am I right?!
So did George Lucas at first, which is why originally there was no "Episode IV: A New Hope" at the beginning (That was added for the re-release in November of 1977 when it was obvious that there would now be sequels and possibly prequels released at some point). When the movie became a mega-hit, then George knew there'd be more. He did, however, leave himself some wiggle room by having Darth escape unharmed at the end...
