- Join us as we take a small tour through Point Reyes National Park, CA🏞showcasing some of its more iconic sites. We illustrate how the reality😱of visiting some of these locations doesn't always match up to the impression one might get from seeing them on Instagram! 🤔
We start with the Point Reyes "Shipwreck"⚓️, then go to Drake's Estero, the Cypress Tree Tunnel and finish at the Point Reyes Lighthouse. 🕶 We also share some insights as to how to see👀all of them in the space of just one day.

The ‘house’ at the end of the famous cypress tunnel is RCA’s famous art deco radio receiving station rich in history due to the sheer power of the stations in the area that served half the hemisphere
The radio telegraph business in the area was started by Marconi at the dawn of radio but US law prohibiting foreigners owning infrastructure businesses during war time meant that the business had to change hands, so RCA acquired it
There are many annecdotes but one famous one involved actor Clint Eastwood
Eastwood was a 21 yr old army private on liberty in 1951. He took a military hop but the plane had to ditch just off shore
He and the pilot had to swim to shore. Eastwood crawled to the station for help.

One of my favorite family photos was taken at Point Reyes. It’s me at just a day or two old and my mom and dad shortly after she left the hospital after giving birth.
