    Have Magen to touch the fence each evening to be sure there are plenty of voltage. 7600 volts should not curl her hair. …“LoL”
    PS: Love you guys!!!

    The raccoon probably jumped out of a tree and is still inside the fence.
    I've seen it happen.
    Most people forget raccoons climb trees and any nearby or overhanging your fence is just another path for them to get inside

      We have a tree that the limbs are pretty high, we wondered if maybe that’s how they got in but not sure how they got out 🤔

    WOW beautiful corn, especially, since you didn’t spray/treat with chemicals! I thought for sure, it would be a lot of worm damage! Hardly any, awesome! Still fighting the Toads, a mole, and an armadillo 😂😂 I don’t fight the locust, he’s happy & I’m happy he’s not in my green beans, yet, this year 😂😂 Hi Maggie nice job shucking that corn!!❤Hi, Jacob, I could hear you doing your chores❤ thank y’all for sharing! God be with us all ❤

    In addition to Ol' Sparky, we need to set out traps about 2 weeks prior and all through the harvest week. The electrons in the wire are a good deterrent, but there's always one or two critters who find a way in. Last year it was a Momma and 3 juvenile Skunks. Never heard of that before but there they were.

    If the squirrels in my neighborhood can be believed, winter here in central IN shouldn’t be too horrible. Walnuts have been coming down, and the squirrels don’t seem too interested in them so far. Oh, and the goldenrod is just starting to bloom. Hard to believe the frost might only be 6 wks away. (We shall see). Temps here are in the upper 90’s right now. I’m so thankful for air conditioning!!

    We had a raccoon and a possum that ran around together. My son got the possum but the raccoon escaped. The next time we saw the raccoon he showed up with a skunk. We could not believe it. I think he brought the skunk with him to use as a weapon 😂.

    I'm so glad that you got your harvest! Hope those critters leave the rest alone.
    We had trouble with crows, then ground hogs....but our later plantings of honey select are coming along now and will (hopefully) produce real soon. We did get a few odd ears to enjoy from our earlier planting and it is SO good. You're right--everything has tasted so, so good this year. The tomatoes, peppers, squash, etc. have been wonderful. The potatoes are good...and I can't even describe how sweet the slicing onions have been. I walk around smelling like an onion. lol They are like candy. We grow Patterson yellow and Red Zeppelin reds.
    Hope the rest of your garden season is great!! God bless ya.

    Great video! Good looking corn harvest, thankful y’all were able to get what y’all have so far. Good luck with those critters,only thing I can think of is what my wife Robbie Lynn suggested in her comment, is to setup a deer/trail camera to see if you can catch them on camera to see how they are getting in? Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻😊😊

    I have watched other videos where the grass or something touching the fence can cause it to not work in that area that it’s touching. Go around your whole fence and check the power all the way around

    • @TrueGritAppalachianWays
      @TrueGritAppalachianWays  Рік тому

      We keep it pretty clean around the fence, we’ve checked the power in several different places, but a trap and 22 are doing the trick now 😂

      I can usually fit 4 ears to a gallon freezer bag. Cut off most of the stem but not the top, just leave it like you picked it. None of mine were freezer burned.

    re any tree limbs hanging over the fence? They'll take the shock on the way out to get away.

    • @TrueGritAppalachianWays
      @TrueGritAppalachianWays  Рік тому

      There is one tree that the limbs are really high on, we were wondering if they would jump in, but then there is only a very small section of fence that the netting is wide enough for them to squeeze back through, but one thing is for sure I ain’t putting nothing past these coons apparently they are smarter than we are 😂😂😂
