Is there a Natural way to hit a ball on the ground with a stick? The answer is a resounding “Yes” if you understand Natural Orientations of the body.
In this video, I discuss how you can naturally orient the body address to simplify the golf swing.
    About the SPS
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

Likewise. Took a 1 day course a few years ago, and have been watching his videos ever since.

I'm a TGM, GSEM. Your description of alignments is spot on. Very basic, very simple. 👍🏻

This is getting me into the best setup possible! I think it answers the kinesthetic questions I was just about to ask on my next video submission: the scapulae are protracted so that the arms and shoulders are in front of the torso. Looking forward to my next review!

@Todd Graves. I notice the latest comment i posted was deleted. If you deleted it Todd, i apologize for posting another youtube video link that you did not approve of, even though i think it supports the work you are doing. And the work you are doing, is to help people (amateurs) have more fun and joy on the golf course, right? Anyway, whatever the case, your golf teachings will help many stay in higher spirits on the golf course and off the course and for that, you are appreciated. peace love light

Back to basics ... thanx, Todd! Would you say that if done properly the clubhead and body return to the start position before the opening of the upper body occurs? Past that point, the rotation of the body into the flexed lead knee leads into the impact, release, and finish positions. I think many times I am opening my torso toward the target too early in the swing, resulting in many wayward shots.

Great stuff as always Todd love the explanation. What’s your take on single length irons? It seems like they would make this swing even easier with the ball position? I have the ball position trainer and thought to myself what if all my clubs were in this one spot with the same stance width?

    • @ToddGravesGolf

What I have seen with Single Length irons is that they benefit Single Plane golfers with higher swing speeds. Lower swing speeds need shaft length to produce speed. If you have slower swing speeds, you would likely only have 5 clubs (6 iron - PW0 at same length. You need longer hybrids, woods and driver to maximize distance. If you have higher swing speeds, you might have 7 clubs same length. While that might have some small advantage, I don't think it is that substantial. Furthermore, the ball position must change with Single Length irons. You can not have the ball in the same place, with same width with 5 iron and wedge. Moe did however, have the ball position in the same place, he simply widened the trail foot. Something to think about.

Thanks for the reply Todd that makes a lot of sense. I do enjoy the playability of variable length irons. This video just really made everything set in for me. How you quantify everything is great.

Todd. One question. Where is your eyes focus at address? Is it at the ball or a few inches behind the ball (like ficus on that turf where the club head is?

I am looking at the ball. Always at the ball.

Youve recreated mos swing great. My thoughts were anything can feel natural and not manipulated if you have done it enough. Im sure your swing didn't happen overnight and without hours/years of studying and practicing.

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  Місяць тому

Absolutely. Everything is learned and practiced. However, there are easy ways and hard ways to accomplish things. As in this case, there is an easier and more natural way. This is the one I chose to practice.

I signed up to Todd's 30 day Single Plane course. Todd's years of studying Moe's swing led him to develop this fast-track training to get you to the feeling of greatness. It works. Don't rush it...

It's simple on one of his videos he says he sets up that way because he's already preset and it makes it less movement on the swing.
