I lived back there on Cleveland Place throughout my 20's when I first moved to St. Louis. SW Garden is very special to me. I loved all my neighbors. Everyone looked after each other and we were all close friends. It defined my 20's, being young. There were many drunk nights, spending summer days in the park, and even going through the pandemic lockdowns. It was just me and my two cats until I met my partner and moved to a different part of town. The neighborhood really transformed while I lived there. It used to be artsy, now gentrified for yuppies. Rent prices are too high after I watched building after building gutted and remodeled.

Best video yet! Loved the movie on the old SW Bank robbery. Will have to look that one up. I remember that neighborhood well, Central Hardware and R and F Spaghetti by O'Connell's Pub. I also remember by SW Bank Placke Chevrolet that was caddycorner. That Gringo Joe's looks interesting. I need to check that out on my next trip back home. I lived off Alfred Ave. but on the other side of the park where it runs into Juniata off Morganford. I went to SW High and I think that Journey Church used to be Holy Innocents if I am correct. That Piano Bar on Arsenal has been there for many, many years. There used to be a Velvet Freeze at the nearby corner of Hampton and Arsenal. Thanks so much for posting!

That's awesome!!! I'm glad you liked it. You're exactly right about all that stuff. I read your comments to my mom and dad and they loved it. They remember all that stuff also. My mom said she thinks Ike & Tina sang at Holy Innocents when they were starting out. My dad remembers Placke and R & F Spaghetti and they know about Velvet Freeze. Very interesting.

Nice presentation . Great because you did not injected a over extended monolog and focused on the key element of topic material .

Thanks for noticing. You're absolutely right- that is what I was going for. There's no way in the world I was going to talk over dialogue, and I'm very cognizant of not wasting people's time- the video must be entertaining and have some value- so I was only going to play a relevant portion of the film.

Haven't done those yet. It looks like I've done about 28 of the 79 neighborhoods. I hope I can do them all- but that is easier said than done 😂.
