I remember doing a cookbook like that. You need to make Bulldog brittle. It is kind of like that but you have to use a stick of butter and a stick of margarine. It can't be two sticks of butter do right. You leave the graham crackers together in this recipe and put pecans all over it and then pour the butter sugar mixture on top of it it is so delicious and addictive eating it... 7 ounces graham crackers (1/2 box )1⁄2 cup butter (1 stick)1⁄2 cup margarine (1 stick)1⁄2 cup sugar1 cup pecans (chopped) Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, 10 ½ x 15 ½.Cover with graham crackers (whole honey graham crackers).Chop 1 cup pecans and sprinkle evenly over crackers. In a boiler, melt 1 stick butter and 1 stick of margarine (only this combination will do!).Add ½ cup sugar, stirring constantlyBoil for exactly 2 minutes.Pour or spoon over crackers and pecan (I find it better to use a big spoon).Bake at 350 for approximately 12 minutes.Cool and break into pieces.1 box of graham crackers is enough to make 2 batches of brittle. You can also try it with Oatmeal Crunch Graham Crackers or Chocolate Graham Crackers.
Hi Paula yes. We wrote letters to our mom on that big stay in the lines paper and I turned out to be a writer because of that. We folded it, stapled it tog and drew a big flower on it. 🙃 So in moving a lot my mom lost all those things, but I have them right here in my head to think back on and to tell my grandchildren what I did for my mom. Thanks for sharing that bit about Eddie it was very special. Love you Paula 💕
I really enjoy any air time with Eddie, he is such a delight and addition to the Paula Dean show. I love the respect and honor you gave to your mom through this gift when you were a growing up what a treasure for us now who are watching. To make it from scratch is better than store bought and is keepsake that will change someone’s life. Maybe Eddie can start his own wall paper cook books. I would definitely buy one. Love your voice and professional camera technique’s in helping the show. I know Paula appreciates you very much. Love to you all including Teresa 💕
It’s was nice to see who Eddie is. I’ve heard Paula talk to him for about 2 years but never seen him. And Eddie that’s the sweetest gift. I know you will always cherish it. I would have.
So sweet, they sound so good. I love treats like this. Thank you, Eddie. It was such a sweet Mother's Day present for your mother. You can cherish this forever. Thank you, Paula for sharing this from Eddie.
Just my opinion: Eddie’s a treasure who’s so laid back Paula & Teresa jump in to pick up the pace (interrupt). I remember many of us kids smelling the mimeographed paper, we liked the smell hope it wasn’t bad for us
@@patsyjohnson3963 You tube has some sort of guidelines...dang it....best laugh I had today!!! That said, it's Paula's show and home. I'll respect her enough to do what she wants with who she wants. If there were rules here that wouldn't happen!! (OR if you were raised by MY Mom!!!)
As to what I came for, man I'd love to smell one of those mimeographed papers again....along with burning fall leaves. Ah childhood smells now gone. And I love how chill Eddie is...I think he did a great job! I follow a few super slow talking channels and I would love to give them coffee, but he wasn't that slow. Just in comparison to others in the room LOLOL My take was Paula was more of being a "Mother hen" helping her dear Eddie in a rare "in front of camera moment" But he was flying just fine!

Eddie that is a treasure of a book! So sweet! Thanks for being you and such a nice all around guy! Your love of Paula shines through all you do! The world needs more of you!
My Great Aunt Winnie originally from Social Circle, GA, then Decatur, GA. She use to make these when my momma was growing up and then for me until she could no longer bake. This brings back hugs and wonderful, wonderful memories of being with her in her small apartment. 💝💖
Eddie did a great job. Thanks Paula for reading the inspirational note. I love the show and how calming it is, and how well you both & Theresa work together After Mother’s Day, I hope you do more gluten-free & low carb recipes. Thanks
I love when we get to see Handsome Eddie. Such a sweet guy. I remember my freshman year in high school I had typing class on a typewriter. The next year we got computers and dial up internet. I had the morning class so we had to boot up our computers a section of the class at a time because everyone trying to boot up at once would “overwhelm” the internet and it wouldn’t connect. Now kids don’t even carry books, they carry tablets
Great video. I also had a great time in elementary school. My favorite favorite Teacher was Miss Dobbs in Third grade. Thanks Eddie. You are delightful 😊
I love this. What a precious gift I’m sure Eddie’s mama treasured. I know I would have. Homemade gifts from our children are just the best. Happy Mother’s Day Paula and the to rest of you mothers out there.
How fun! I’ll be celebrating my first Mother’s Day tomorrow, and I look forward to seeing little mementos over the years from my sweet girl. I also enjoyed watching this after teacher appreciation, as well. Hearing Eddie’s story about his favorite teacher, well that made my heart smile, too! I’m only going on year 4 of teaching, but I hope to have some kiddos out there who remember classroom times through the years, too!
Wow ❤️❤️🙏, What a wonderful treat to hear Eddie's story for Mother's Day ‼️‼️ Thank you for sharing your great book and recipe. You are truly a great child grown up, terrific man ❤️😀. God Bless. My children are terrific too, it takes time to raise good children, they are a Blessing 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Aw... so cute! Well, Eddie, now I feel a little old too! We're just about the same age! 😆 My mom still has a plastic plate that I drew a picture and wrote a Mother's Day message on. I think I was about 6 or 7 years old, so this would have been the late 1970s. 😳 I think it's so cute that she really treasures that plate! But now I'm a mama, so I get it. Happy Mother's Day to you Paula and all the beautiful mamas out there! 😍
When my oldest son was in 6th grade his teacher got all the student bring their favorite recipe to school. Unknown to me my son got a recipe out of my box and took it to school and in his handwriting copied the recipe. The teacher then copied the them and each student made a cover and all recipes were put together. It was a Christmas gift. I was so surprised as my son never let on about it. He is now 52 and I still use it. When I look at all the recipes in it it brings back a lot of memories.
EDDIE! That book is precious! I make and teach how to make handmade books, and a friend gave me some full rolls of handmade wallpaper from the 1920's. They found it in the attic of a historic home they bought here in Eureka Springs Arkansas. I covered all my books back then with this beautiful wallpaper; many rolls were hand screened and included fancy gold painted filigree designs. I enjoy watching you on Paula's channel. Thank you for all your work behind the scenes, too.
I love that little cookbook. Great item for moms to keep forever. And I still remember the smell of that carbon paper when the teacher would bring in fresh tests run off in the office. Pleasant olfactory senses. 😊 Thank you for the video.
Eddie what a treasure you have there. I have tried to keep those memories too. My girls say mom throw those away. But they will appreciate them when I am gone. Those graham cracker treats look delightful. I think I will make some for Mothers day. I cant wait to try them. Eddie you are a true blessing to Paula. I know she knows that too. This video was a real treat. Always treasure those memories. Love at all of you.
Eddie, What a wonderful gift, that wallpaper card was beautiful, your Mom must’ve treasured it. I also remember the mimeograph! I used to play “school” and “office” with those carbons, I thought they were fancy! That cookie snack we call it toffee “crack” here in FL and when I see it at a bake sale, I grab it and it’s so delicious! ❤️
That is a wonderful gift and I bet you learned a lot making it. I remember making several really neat mother's Day presents, this one looks even cooler than most of the ones my teachers help me make sure remember the teachers that I learned best from somehow you just clicked with them. I'm actually saving this one will be pulling it out sounds like it would be neat to pull out some of those other recipes and give them a try too
Mother made something similar: 1 C butter and 1 C. brown sugar, boiled for 2 mins. while stirring. Add one C. chopped pecans. Spoon on graham crackers and bake 10 mins. at 350 F.
