Theres no scenario where North Korea makes it out of a conflict with the US in one piece. Even if china and russia were to intervene.

I'm not sure if the US and SK could reasonably take on NK, Russia, AND China without help. If Russia was still busy with Ukraine and China was busy with Taiwan, maybe. But I also don't really see a situation where our other allies leave us to it alone.

@@IzzyKawaiichiRussian can barely handle a third rate military like Ukraine… they are right next to each other making it logistically easier as well. Russians are overrated . Then the NK military is old and outdated with many starving . The only formidable enemy is China.

@@IzzyKawaiichi In a war between countries of this magnitude, everybody would lose including the rest of the world. They would have to come to some sort of agreement or settlement for their indiscretions, repercussions without a "real" war.

@@IzzyKawaiichithing is China is the only one that has a capable NAVY but most of its ships can’t even go in deep ocean, people aren’t even sure if Chinas entire fleet can defeat americas 7th Fleet! Out of 6 fleets, so if China can’t beat a single fleet then idk how they can beat the US

@@IzzyKawaiichi If we remove nuclear weapons from the equation, there's simply no way the U.S. loses. On top of having the strongest, most advanced military in human history, they also have several decades of real military experience - China has none, N.K. has none and Russia is just now showing us how embarrassing their military is. The United States would end all three - and then the United States would try to make allies of all three nations and help to rebuild them back into 1st world countries - we did it for Germany and Japan, even after both tried to conquer their respective regions of the world.
And it's important to note that what the United States did for both Japan and Germany after the war, was utterly unprecedented. No nation in human history had ever completely obliterated an enemy, militarily, and then turned around and helped them back up and into the 1st world AND became allies with them - there's a reason why the United States is called by so many 'the greatest nation on earth'.

Great video! very informative, would love to see more with him! Itd be interesting to know his views of the Quad and if he ever envisions Republic of Korea of ever joining it, what his views on that summit that Biden had with the leaders of South Korea and Japan and if he ever thinks that expand security and economic ties between the three are actually possible or if its just good headlines for certain audiences and if not with Japan if he sees an alternative country to Japan where something like that could work be it Philippines, Australia or a different state

Director-nim Choi (I’m super sorry if I didn’t get the honourifics correct) was a very informative guest and learned a lot even gaining new perspectives. I was shocked in a good way the way he spoke about the view the relations between ROK and the U.S. alliance as I didn’t know diplomats to media thought that way especially when the Pacific is constantly bought up. Personally I didn’t feel that way as a member of the public as ROK is integral ally in the Pacific. Will you please bring him back? I wonder if he thinks based on soft power of the K-Wave to the way ROK in my opinion gave integral crucial info to the world with transparency and numbers at the start of the pandemic could help sway the opinion (or at least public opinion) if emphasised more? Obviously they shared with WHO but there was also UA-cam channels in Korea who were telling us what was going on there and it wasn’t in a fear mongering way but informative before many places started issuing stay at home orders to travel bans to stop the spread. Could it help cement the thoughts a military alliance is way more than just military manpower and weapons benefitting both makes stronger allies at least the American public? Equaling that ROK offers extra support in more than just artillery so it’s why a military partnership for both is crucial while allowing each to put our own countries first. I’m sure he knows during that time many in our Military especially the reserves were deployed throughout the U.S. to build and/or help in the field hospitals and other tasks. I would love to hear more on his thoughts just on manpower like troops on the ground perspective (just a comparison individually and together vs the N.K). Specifically does he think it helps that the U.S. Military is made of those who Volunteer puts it in spot one? Yes I do know conscription for males in mandatory in South Korea but from what I’ve understood overall even though it’s required is that they do view it as a rite of passage to manhood so they also have built a brotherhood too of sorts so does that help? I guess on both sides I’m trying to point out both militaries are willing if needed to defend and are also well nourished as a few NK defectors that seem reputable have said the military there has a poor quality of life. Does it also help that both sides also train in various techniques including deescalation and protecting innocents?
I know this is a channel focused on Korean Affairs and absolutely love we get a mix of serious and lighthearted content on here. It’s just would really like to hear more of his thoughts on the Ukraine and Russian War and the parallels to the Korean War before the armistice. Thank you 😊

Recently found your videos and am thoroughly enjoying how well thought out and educational they are. This is a multifaceted issue, and he approches it as such. Given the current tit for tat mentalities, a direct conflict with NK would be unlickely, and the most likely scenarios would be severe and price strikes on NK militsry sites and compounds. Including hits on their central government. The new authoritarian axis powers are scary. Thst said education and tolerance first. Awesome video!

The best summary of conflicts outside of Korea and description of the US/Korea alliance I’ve heard. I have been concerned about how our governments view the Korean peninsula, especially the US. Servicemen know their jobs but are the decision makers competent?

Good Mourning ! ... I'm from the USA ... If i may , we the people of the USA do not look for war. There is nothing good about a war. I did not take anything you said out of context and it's up to you only for your own view. Please come visit someday i open my arms for the USA for you. I think you should see us first hand instead of hear-say !! ... Remember this we are a peaceful nation, and we would like everyone to be happy. OK, with that being said we are also very proud of your nation, just as you are about your country. And we respect that...This is where the rubber band breaks...If we can't talk you out of war, trust me we do not want war. But if it did happen, do yourself a favor '' get out of there '&', FAST !! ... We then will not be playing musical chairs ...Let's have peace and love in the world. And stop thinking about who would win. LIFE IS TO SHORT ! !

I mean if they beat their a55e55 back in the Korean war then I think it's a clear decision as to who wins what, in fact the only reason North Korea even got to fight the US and it's allies was because it had the support of Russia and China and most of the troops who fought on the Korean War were Chinese, these b1tches can't fight for sh1t without their neighbors pitching in. 😂 You expect them to win at any point especially nowadays? Bruh 💀 "it depends" yeah it depends if America was in the stone age except they aren't unlike North Korea 😂🤣

There's something that makes me think it can be a bit hard to have a full on war in North Korean Territory: Just like Afghanistan, North Korean geography is very mountainous, there are very few places where airplanes could land or ships could dock, which means a very limited space for troop stationing, keeping weapons and so on, as well rations deployment would be extremely hard. North Korea can easily launch an offensive through the mountains, interrupt communications, destroy bases and so on. It's a hard country to invade, and most military installations are located underground and in the mountains, so there's no easy way to spot them.
That is not to say the country can't be successfully taken down, it just will prove much harder than anticipated.

The US did not use 2% of its military capabilities in Afghanistan. It was a very limited war with very specific targets being the Islamic Terrorists and Taliban... Civilians were not to be harmed at all , in fact they were the priority to be helped and given food, medical and education... If the US fought an all out war Afghanistan would have been demolished in two weeks...... same for N Korea .... not including nukes, just conventional war only, but if the US thought N Korea would attack S Korea or Japan with nukes, N Korea would not even be able to launch a single missile before every launcher and nuclear weapon area would be wiped out in 15 minutes before they could even launch and the war would be over in a few days ........ N Korea knows this very well, thats why they are just a lot of talk and no action. .... everyone knows this .......

Against North Korea, North Korea always loses. Against North Korea and China, that is more difficult. US can win if it has the political will. If not, they lose.

I have no idea if the niceness of Korean language is mistranslated or if the expert is trying to be overly "politically correct" towards Trump, but "Trump (...) might join hands with North Korea if it benefits the US government" is so jarring 😅
Yea, the problem is dudes like Trump or Putout prioritize themselves, not the government and country. So I wouldn't be surprised if Trumpie did a party with cake and prostitutes for Orban, Putout and Kim Dzong, draining the US resources and endangering or lowering the quality of life of their citizens while they spend millions for caviar, but no one should ever mistake this as prioritizing the nation. :|
US does need to take a step back, and reprioritize - lending some arms, but concentrating on the affairs at home while the UN and EU take first seat in driving the world affairs. We dont want the US to jump at everyone as if it was the world police (and drilling for oil on all occupied lands as if we didn't notice it's not just the sense of justice that propels the American interventions).

I also feel strongly that even if (and when) the USA goes back to a conservative administration ties with South Korea will be only stronger ..as Trump was not afraid to challenge Kin Jong....✌️✌️

I’m sorry but South Korean analysis on trump is usually so far off.
Viewing trump as anything but a potential dictator/authoritarian , despite how stupid he may appear at all times, is off the mark.
With the business stuff, it’s more accurate to say that he plays or acts like a business, from what I can only assume is some related childhood mental trauma of trying to be successful like his father but having absolutely zero talent for running a business any other way but crooked and into the ground.
