crazy performance! I've been obsessed with this specific youtube video for like... 5 years. Every few months I remember this exists and then I listen ten times. Absolutely gorgeous music. I hope to find enough time to learn this piece someday. Thanks for posting!
It's so awesome that you deliver an insanely good concerto performance and then you just whip off Cameleon at the end like it's nothing :) Top-notch performances!!
While it wasn't my favorite combination, it was excellently done. The orchestra could have used work on their dynamics, but it's not easy to compliment the dynamics of a Marimba. Overall great writing and it's great to see Marimba front and center-stage ;)
Beautiful! That rear camera angle threw me for a loop every time with the higher notes still coming through the left channel in the audio but appearing on the right side of the frame in the video.
Incredible! This is my first time hearing the piece and your performance definitely does the composition justice! I am extremely impressed with your skill.
Just copying the timings here with colons instead of periods so they'll be clickable links: I - Andante - Allegro vivace (00:03) II - Andante cantabile (11:05) III - Allegro con fuoco (22:43) Bis: Eric Sammut - Caméléon (31:47)
Hi William Ronalds ! Yes I can. What would you like to know about the sticking I used? this is my email: palma.sound@gmail.com you can ask me whatever you want
Sebastian Cantillana hi sebastian! sorry for the delay! in that part i just improvised so as to complete harmonically for an easier return to the beginning =)
I'm a high schooler in my city's youth symphony, and I was hoping to perform a concerto for marimba. It has to be one movement and 10 minutes or less, so I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what I should play. It of course doesn't have to be one of these that you performed, but since you seem experienced, I was hoping you could help. Thanks
Excuse me to ask, where can I buy music score of Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra ? Because I only find Concerto for Marimba and Piano. Thank you for answer me.
Well played Daniele. Nothing against the performers, I’m just not a huge fan of Ewazen as a composer. All his stuff comes across as very cloying to me. People seem to like it though, so at least it moves somebody.

Thank you Keli! ;)
Davvero bravo! E questo concerto è qualcosa di bellissimo. Complimenti
Fantastic performance. Such relaxed playing which many people don't do when playing marimba and it comes through on your sound! Bravo!

What mallets are you using?
Very nice performance, especially Cameleon!
igorjurinic bogdan bacanu, but I used them just becuase of the theather's acoustic, I would not use them in other situations
Daniele Palma Yeah, they don't sound that great in the beginning rolling section.
yes I know for the recording it's not that good, but it was the best choice for that hall (for the public)
Daniele Palma Totally understand. Either way, I loved your performance.
I'm korean student! I want this score:)
