The last time i watched this my old dad was with me and he laughed his heart out. We lost him in September but he loved your films, especially the tractor stuff.
Long Live Massey Ferguson, they've always been a major part of my life! That 1080 is definitely worth the time to bring back to its former glory, it has great bones! You can't beat a Perkins for fuel economy and reliability, I love your videos and the humour that goes with it! Cheers from Ontario Canada!!
I worked on a farm in Southern Ontario during the mid 70s. There was a large selection of tractors including a 1085. The 1080, I found to be my favourite tractor to drive all day. No cabs, heat housing in very cold weather. This was before no till, lots of ploughing and tilling. Corn or Maize was harvested until after Christmas.
I like the old Fudweasel he knows a good tractor when he buys one... That 1080 is as sweet as a nut and with a bit of cosmetic fettling will make a brilliant tractor... Good vid mr muck 👍
man near me had one in the 70s .........was fast on the road .........way faster than any other tractor out there at the time .......he wore it out cutting silage for hire with a claas precision chop .........the season was from mid may till october .....and it would want to be raining hard before he would stop .........had a 178 4wd on the pit with a quicke loader and a 188 drawing in .......and a ford 4600 mowing with a 6.6 ft disc mower ...............that was a good outfit back then ...!
That tractor sounds amazing, shocking to think how good it runs and drives considering how it looked. I think it’s still a good tractor someone could use on the farm😊
Still tons of 1080's still running over here the U.S. even though were not super popular brand....were cheaper to buy for big tractor horsepower than Internationals or Deere's back in that day.
Great video 👌 tbh when it started i thought it sounded more like a 175/185 than a 595 i was lucky or unlucky to drive for a few years 🤔😁 noticed the MP was nice an brisk as well 💪 have to say its a stunning looking tractor without a cab on it 👌
Ok. Its getting there. I quite like the cable tie ball joint retaining ummm clamps. Not sure about the drop tank though. But the ignition key ....bang on.
I have been a mechanic for 45 years, I approve of your repairs 100%. Seems like a permanent fix to me. You might purchase a bag of zip ties to fasten the fuel tank tho. Maybe Peg could supply them
You are doing a great job on this tractor looking forward to seeing more on the above and the Maltese matador my partner loves the matador love from alison ❤ 😀
Thanks for the video thats not a bad tractor compared to some of the scrap Fud Weasel's acquired. Looks like you got most of that power steering oil on the floor instead of all of it in L.O.L Masseys and failing tie rod ends is about the same as Dodges with flying ball joints. We had 595 back in the day yep dropped a tie rod end right in the middle of a welsh lane that was 5" wider than the tractor, nowhere to pass and a mile from the farm lane so that was handy blocking tourist traffic for a while. That 595 was far from fuel efficient we ran an Opico 580 drier on ours for a week, by the second load a day you'd think it had a drinking problem. Dad got fed up filling it, and said lets put a Power Major on I'd rebuilt. In comparison that was like trying to get a Scotsman to buy you a drink with what it used a day. It ran it real good and was only just above tick over with the 750 PTO compared to nuts on the floor with the 540 PTO on the 595. Take care
When you said cable ties I thought you were putting them between the nut and stud to make up the stripped threads, never tried that but just may be???, Regards my Lord from Sheffield.
Don't need to worry about track rod fix, 1cable tie temporary but 2 tie's permanent fix.👍maybe the fud weasel has become allergic to orange 🤔 looks ok without them overalls😂 . You've stuck that image in my head again at 11.20🙈😂😂looked forward to this one and it wasn't a let down. 👌👍
Very posh with your cable ties podge. Back in ,92 a lad I used to work for , used bicycle tubes to fix tierod ends. Not a stop gape it was a full on fix. Wouldn't get away with it now 😊. She a straight looking machine 👌
I liked that video, to be fair I’m not a great Massey fan , but others are , we are all different, which is great , but I really like this tractor for some reason ???? Good to see it fire 🔥 up & trundle off , when it’s completed you can see it’s going to look dead smart 👍👍👍👍😊😊😊Any tractor than a collie dog happens to endorse must be good too 🤣, thanks for taking time to make the video for us all to watch 😃😃
Well at least the front didn't fall off.... Cracking job M'lod, sounds a treat that 1080. Your friend passing by shure sounds familiar🤔😅 Keep em coming! Cheers, Mike
sorry i need to be safety sally ,that tie rod should have been bale twine tied, safety first kurt 😆😆😆😆😆😆 thats pretty impressive for how long its stood, not much smoke out of her either, may look rough but it makes you think they looked after her mechanically at least
Good to see the old fudweasel putting in an appearance, hope he is feeling better i think he should change his name too Barney Rubble. This will be a nice tractor when finished.
The similarities and differences that 1080 has compared to my 1100 is interesting. I wish Massey Ferguson put a heavier front axle design under the 1155 being a bit heavier in the front without accounting for the larger weight bracket. Already my cousin repaired the back pin area.
Getting all fancy with yer cable ties🤠, meanwhile us mere mortals are stuck with the old fashioned baler twine, silage tape and lump hammer🤡 Runs grand the 1080👌 Best wishes to the old Fud too🤙
Mucker ya got a hair cut ,and the bloody key start works, now for the Fuel tank ,Nothing wrong with ty wraps unless you leave them there forever ,Mucker I'm still laughing over the stop you rigged up It's brilliant ,Well so much for just forward and backward in the bloody yard , now he's pissing about in the field . Awesome Video Mucker
I noticed that there are PAVT wheels on the your 1080, have you ever replaced the rails on those type of rims, reason is that I have these PAVT wheels on a 188 and one side keeps coming loose even with new clamps and bolts
The last time i watched this my old dad was with me and he laughed his heart out. We lost him in September but he loved your films, especially the tractor stuff.
Can’t fault the old girl, clearly wants to live again. Can’t wait to see it at work in some form

It’s going to be a great workhorse when it’s finished 👍🏻 looked like it drove well
I like the old Fudweasel he knows a good tractor when he buys one... That 1080 is as sweet as a nut and with a bit of cosmetic fettling will make a brilliant tractor... Good vid mr muck 👍
The dogs tongue sticking out is what pit this vid over the top, please give that pupper a hug and some belly rubs for me!!

When I saw the title I thought it was a 165 / 135. What I grew up with. But its there great big brother !!!
What is hilarious is when you started it as soon as it fired up a load of blue smoke drifted past my window! I kid you not! Brilliant.
Wow what a beast. Thanks for this brilliant video 😁
Great video, the fud weasel in all his glory!!
What a cracking example of a handsome and not so common tractor! I want it.
Good work and you’re sense of humour makes a great video thank you 😂
That tractor sounds amazing, shocking to think how good it runs and drives considering how it looked. I think it’s still a good tractor someone could use on the farm😊
Nicely done , cable ties can get you out of trouble , very useful , and now you can steer it . Excellent video .
Perkins power, gotta love an old Perky
Great video. Nice to see the 1080 starting & driving. Great tractor. Enjoyed watching.
Memories of a happy childhood and simpler times…..looking forward to the next posts.
Great video as always fantastic to see the old girl going in the right direction 👍
Still tons of 1080's still running over here the U.S. even though were not super popular brand....were cheaper to buy for big tractor horsepower than Internationals or Deere's back in that day.
The Massy rides again, great video Mucker. The pipe grips are a great all round tool .👍🚜🔧
1080 sounds bloody nice! great vid!
It starts and moves runs on fresh air. 👍
Nice Mucka, actually leaving cable ties uncut is better than a nice sharp end that gets ye! Hope the old Fud Weasel is on the mend....
Fab! Lovely to see Clarence on 2 feet. Hope to see him on the spanners shortly.
this is my first time on yor channel, i farm we farm mentioned you on his show , your videos are great😀😀😀😀
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them 👍
Great video 👌 tbh when it started i thought it sounded more like a 175/185 than a 595 i was lucky or unlucky to drive for a few years 🤔😁 noticed the MP was nice an brisk as well 💪 have to say its a stunning looking tractor without a cab on it 👌
Another awesome video love the old Masseys, looking forward to seeing the next one keep up the great work =)
Those old masseys never give up.
Ok. Its getting there. I quite like the cable tie ball joint retaining ummm clamps.
Not sure about the drop tank though.
But the ignition key ....bang on.
Nice vidja. 1080 looks well. My friend has recently purchased an 1155.
Nice one Kurt enjoyed that, thank you. 🙂👍

He needs to send me some more PC Lite
1080 massey ferguson are a great tractor
Spot-on 👌 job, Kurt. She looks & sounds a decent old bus. 👍
You are doing a great job on this tractor looking forward to seeing more on the above and the Maltese matador my partner loves the matador love from alison ❤ 😀

Mighty stuff Kurt, Clarence and Puppo, cable ties fair replaced baling twin and building wire, Idiocracy, fantastico👌👍🙏😎
Great video once again. Brilliant to see it moving. Thanks. 👍
Nice one, as always. 👍
Great video - a great tractor!

She's a good yoke Mickey 👌🏼
that is a definition of tractor, complete with cable ties , absolute gem Lord Muck🤠
I had a 1080 in the 1972 great tractor
Sounds sweet....
Nice One Kurt & Friend Have a good week thanks again
1080 sounds like the 285 I spent a lot of time on. Y'all save that old girl!
Nice tractor! The value just went up because of Lord Muck!
Pretty much all field ready and good to go. 👍👍👍🍺
Another great video mucker. Love the “will it starts” series of videos.
I liked that video, to be fair I’m not a great Massey fan , but others are , we are all different, which is great , but I really like this tractor for some reason ???? It’s going the right way old stick! It’ll be a bonny thing when done.
Great video Mucker! I did think when you put it into high gear if the barrel of diesel was safely attached to the step? Fenland Rob
Add a tarp strap for the "fuel tank" and she's field ready! Mint!
Well at least the front didn't fall off....
Cracking job M'lod, sounds a treat that 1080.
Your friend passing by shure sounds familiar🤔😅
Keep em coming!
Cheers, Mike
Good video again can’t beat a Massey Ferguson 👍
sorry i need to be safety sally ,that tie rod should have been bale twine tied, safety first kurt 😆😆😆😆😆😆 thats pretty impressive for how long its stood, not much smoke out of her either, may look rough but it makes you think they looked after her mechanically at least
Excellent video Lord Muck :) also Massey Ferguson 1080 live on, hopefully key ignition switch be fix to and other repairs too soon!
Can't beat an old Massey
All the health and safety.
Yes the old girl sounds good ! Good work !
Old FORDS and Massey Fergusons are the mutt's nuts, especially the rare ones. Keep up the good work mucker and bollocks to the whingers. Matt.
It makes a huge difference to start something with the key .
Great video LM jaysus it’s a big lump of a tractor for a 4 cylinder
Imagine it back in the day
Another great video Mucker nice content as Usual 🚜👍
Those cable ties have still gotta be good for up to about 37mph on the A6 though, right...? 😉
38 mph on the A5
Love it great video mucker good to see the old girl start❤
Good to see the old fudweasel putting in an appearance, hope he is feeling better i think he should change his name too Barney Rubble. This will be a nice tractor when finished.
Thanks Kurt loved the vid... Take care sir...
Cheers Kev 👍

I had no doubt you would get it going. I did get a laugh out of you not even knowing you lost your temp diesel tank😅
Never underestimate the power of two cable ties
Really enjoyed that keep the videos coming
Nice pup.
NOT A MASSEY FAN BUT IT RUNS WELL FOR BEING STOOD ALL THAT TIME
Is that wet or dry brakes and to be honest I'm surprised it fired up so easily must be the best starting Massey ever
Local wore out the 318 and replaced with a 203...did another 10 years with front mounted forklift!
That lost nut will add iron to the field - keep the turf green.
Great vid as usual and snowflakes look away cables ties are a good alternative to baler twine
I’d say then 1080s were a big tractor when they came out back in the day keep up the good videos and content 👌
Great tractor those Perkins engines are known for being very good on fuel
Your friend seems to have the same smart watch as fudweasel 😁 great video as ever mucker
Getting all fancy with yer cable ties🤠, meanwhile us mere mortals are stuck with the old fashioned baler twine, silage tape and lump hammer🤡
Runs grand the 1080👌
Best wishes to the old Fud too🤙
Love it great vid, good to see the old girl move 👌
Most of my kit is held together with cable ties....I don't see the problem 🤣nice one👍👍
I had to do it...
Awesome video as allways, mucker!!
Great vid mate cant wait to see it in action
that tractor aside from being the best ever made deserves a full restore for its fuel usage .
Lovely'Does it have Multi Power ? Does it work ?
Yes and it works well. You can hear it when I stop to change up and then pull away
Not quite ‘toad in his motor car’ but still somewhat exciting to see this tractor driving around a paddock😁! Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
There's nothing better than getting an old tractor going that wants to do it's best for you.
@@LordMuck True that.
Hi Lord M, not coming from a farming background. What sort of work would the Massey done in its hey day on the farm?. Another great video.
In its day it was a big tractor so ploughing, pulling a pea viner, trailer work, all sorts really
Is there any lot making cabs for that massey here in ireland you can get new cabs for the 135 165 and so on
The 1080 looks better without a cab
@@LordMuck ya it does was just trying to picture a new cab on it cause its a tractor that should be working
Top job Kurt - I'm sure @ClarenceFud-Weasel was lurking nearby 😹 Anyone know what make the rear NS tyre is? Can't say I've seen that tread before.
Never seen a 1080 massey can't beat the older tractors no wonder a full tank of diesel lasts for days 👌
sounds great is that a perkins engine please ?
Yes
Peterboroughs finest 👌
Good luck finding a linkage! Hens teeth. My neighbour has a 1080 if you need anything for reference
Already have most of it and the remaining parts we can source from the breaker luckily
@@LordMuck ah spot on 👌
But that's a US breaker... !
@@LordMuck ah
I noticed that there are PAVT wheels on the your 1080, have you ever replaced the rails on those type of rims, reason is that I have these PAVT wheels on a 188 and one side keeps coming loose even with new clamps and bolts
You have to ensure that they are clamped down evenly otherwise they run like an egg
