Yeah.. looks like the previous owner set it up for sport touring. And never rode it much. It kicks good and seems to have good compression. But not sure how ling its sat.
I am the same way with the Yamaha RD's. Rode them in high school with the chambers and individual air filters , clubman bars....and then went road racing with Wera . 2t's . Nothing quite like them.
Very Cool bike. I think that you did good. I worked at a Suzuki dealer in the late 70's and was able to ride the GT550 air cooled and the GT750 water buffalo. Great bikes. Suzuki was on top of their game. I wonder if it were not for emissions what kind of cool 2 strokes we would be riding. I am a Suzuki guy at Heart, I have some NOS stuff pistons etc. If I run across GT750 stuff I'll let you know. I have shagged many a bike from California, always a treat to cross the border OUT of Kalifornia! Take care VW915
That is really cool. I always wanted to ride one of those. A few years back I got an old 1972 Suzuki 185 two stroke street bike going. It was a fun project but not near as cool as your bike.
Hey Mark, not sure what happened to my previous message. But when i ever get it road worthy. Your more than welcome to come take it for a spin. Funny, i have a suzuki 125 im going to do a video on soon. Its a little fire cracker. Hope ur hip is healing well.
@@ZSharkPH My hips are doing great. I've been averaging over 60 miles per week on my bicycle. I hope to get back out on the dirtbike soon. I will have to swing by sometime to say hi as my parents live in Henderson.
I would ditch the fairing, was never meant to have one (unless of course the Rickman) I would rebuild it as standard. As you said, they are getting hard to come by and originals are are rare. Fitting chambers and such might make it sound great but this bike is not that fast and chambers are not going to make it much faster (I had two of these machines) Well done on your find. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Nice bike!! That cowling needs to go and so do the handle bars. Drag bars with a 1in rise would look good. And the baffles need to be gone so we can hear here in NH! LOL!
I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
Thanks Steve.. It should be a fun project. If you still have the grom. Maybe we can meet when its running again.
Nice! I just got a 1976 gt750 with 5k miles. My neighbor passed away and was gifted to me, Pristine condition. I may post some videos on it.
Thats a great gift.. Im sure he would like you to enjoy it.. Ride on man.
Wow what a gift if you ever need a buyer I had two back in the day would love another one hard to find a nice one in the UK!
Actually sold her, guy offered me 10k for it. I couldn't refuse.
Looks like it's all there. That is huge. Pipes look good. Not all rusted out....

Yeah.. i always liked those Rd400's. And nothing better than a two stroke with some chambers. Cant wait to hear it.
Can’t wait to see how this comes out! She is in impressive shape considering the age.
Thanks CZ.. i was pretty happy to find the old girl :)

Cool story VW915 :) ive never ridden a gt550 or 750. Cant wait to get her running. She might need alot. But the base os pretty solid.

@@markgunnison that would be great 😎👍
Looks like it needs the original radiator bar and back handrail sourced but apart from that it looks all original even the mauie blue paint...
Thanks for pointing some key things out. Had no idea about Rad bar. I'll start searching for one soon.

Thanks for your input.. im thinking about getting some exhaust chambers for it. But they are pricey.
howmuch?
Sorry.. not for sale at this time.
It needs bars that are pointed down kinda like a sportbike and yeah I’m definitely not a fan of the fairing
Thanks Mike..I agree, bars that are on it and fairing have to go.
Forget the Bike! What kinda Van is that?
Lol...nice... Its a 2001 Dodge Xplorer wide body. Stopped making them in 2003.
@@ZSharkPH thanks!
