I also really liked Funny Story after almost not picking it up! I did not like Happy Place at all (so much miscommunication), but I did like this one. 4 stars (not a 5 star due to the third act annoying-ness) 🍋
Thank you so much for recommending the Spark of Everflame series! I’m now on book 3 just like I’m now on book three with Lady of Ashes. While it’s a 3.5-4 star series (so far) for me as well, it’s giving me all the good feels TOG and ACOTAR did. You can see a lot of similarities and influence within the series. I too did not like Book Lovers or Happy place, so I’m really hoping I like Funny Story. I always say that it’s quality over quantity in my reading, and you had some great books out of the 8 you read, so I’d count that as a win!! 🍋
i've been seeing SOOO much about chloe walsh's boys of tommen series and i want to read it so so bad. i barely know what it's about but i'm HOOKED. AND JUST FOR THE SUMMER was my first abby book and IMMEDIATE 5 stars. NO COMPLAINTS. loved it so so much. as for funny story, i agree on what you said about miles handing *that* situation! i was BLINKING at the page going, "what the hell miles???" great video! i love listening to your wrap ups!! 😊
Do you mean her moral conflict in the face of obvious danger??? Because I’m stuck at 15% and have diverted to two random smut books because Diems, “No! Don’t kill them! I know they’re trying to murder me! And you! And everyone! But don’t kill them!” Cause that’s driving me over the edge. 🙄
I might be the only that wasn’t that impressed with just for the summer, it feels like Abby has this thing where she always puts the FMC’s emotional baggage and trauma in the forefront, has them freaking out and acting irrationally and then the romance is on the back burner, like I’m sorry but this book is everyone’s idea of a fun summertime read? PTSD, child abuse, and an abusive mother?…the entire book was trauma filled and abuse. And I’m sorry but Justin was going through his own shit and I think he handled it a lot more maturely than Emma did.
