Here in UK we would only call it Shepherds Pie if it was made with ground lamb with no vegetables added. Other ground meat with veggies added is called cottage pie. Both are delicious.
We love date nights at home! We’ve been doing them for about a year and half, alternating who chooses what we do. Sometimes it’s puzzles, or a board game, a cozy movie with the fireplace on, cookie baking, we’ve done painting along with bob ross. So fun, and an easy way to stay connected ❤️
I've made your chicken wild rice soup and chicken with creamy peach sauce this week. Both were absolutely delicious! I'll be making them often 🙂Thank you so much!
I love these videos. They're among my favorite types that you make. My second favorite...sewing videos. More sewing videos, please! Your approach to sewing is so stress-free. It's unlike anyone else.
Love these vlogs as I come from the Uk and you seem to put meals together differently than us and sometimes you do something that I try and like so thank you xxx
Made the peach chicken. Delicious. Used frozen peaches, thawed. Drain off excess water in a salad spinner. Easy and delicious. Thank you for great receive.
I swear you and your sister are what I want to be in like 10 years. Passel of kids, working on creative but money earning projects, homeschooling, and most of all cooking like you do. Like literally your diets are exactly what I aim for (except for the grains and legumes and such which our nutritionist has us not doing right now). Thank you so much for sharing all these recipe ideas.
I don't make shepards pie often instead I make a cheeseburger pie and have a tossed salad on the side. It's easy to make and uses up any leftover mashed potatoes. I just mix chopped meat with minced onion and garlic. Form into a meatloaf and bake for 20 mins. at 400 degrees take out drain any grease, cover with cheese and let rest , cover with leftover mashed potatoes (leaving it peaked ) bake at 400 just to brown and heat the potatoes thru about 10 -15 mins. I had found this recipe in a card file of my mom's way back in the 70's
Its so huge that your kids are growing up in a home watching you cook a lot and eating so hearty and healthy. I didn't grow up with that but my husband did. Oh man. That forced me to learn how to cook (and led me to you). Hopefully your daughter-in-laws grew up with this or are willing to step up to the challenge!
I needed this🙌🏻 I've been running dry on what to make and my week days have been extremely long because I've been working late. These are great and I feel inspired, thank you💕 God bless😊
I made the chicken with creamy peach sauce tonight with a 15oz can of canned peaches and it was really good! Fresh peaches would have been better but it's December so.. Would make again! Serve over rice so it soaks up all the sauce. Yum!
I only have one child and she's pretty well grown and I barely cook. Don't really relate to this video at all but!...I could watch you for hours and hours, your voice is so calming and soothing ❤️
Oh my gosh..your oven reminds me of my moms. Her house, I believe, was built in 1939 and when my parents bought the house it came with all the original items like glass door knobs and what not. She of course never got rid of the stove and keeps it nice and clean. Her stove is a magic chef and it’s one of those with the open flame and little side drawers to store her baking pans...the smell of her baking always bring back childhood memories....anyway LOL just a side little story and how your oven reminds me of my moms.
Hi Lisa, I was watching you light the oven and just came to my mind that I was listening to your podcast the other day when you explain how much you like to have an old house and old oven. We have a newish oven (20+years old, but digital) and every time we lose power I can use the gas stove, but not the oven as the safety doesn't let the gas out to be lit since there is no spark... I always miss the old ovens in those times :) Great ideas for meals, I will make a few of the dishes for sure :)
I make my own hamburger helper too but I never thought of adding eggs! My husband is NOT a fan of eggs but that’s a way to add protein to a meal and he won’t suspect a thing! 🤫 I can’t wait to try the peach sauce recipe, sounds delish! Love you meal videos!
I just love your wholesome meals! My husband and I started at home date night a few years ago because we lived so far from family and didn't have a sitter. We have sitters now but still love having our evenings to ourselves. We'll have steak, potatoes and red wine 😊❤️
We do at home date nights. We put a tv upstairs for the kids so they can just watch a movie while we hang out downstairs...they call it a kids date so mommy and daddy can have a date 🤣 Tonight they are staying with our friends so we can have a date outside the house for our 9yr wedding Anniversary ❤❤❤
New subscriber and I’m enjoying all your videos. 🧡 Made shepherds pie a couple days ago, almost identical to yours, except I used ground turkey and a layer of Colby jack before the potatoes. Adding eggs to Mac & cheese is definitely a trade secret. I’ll be at the farmer’s market tomorrow to see if they have peaches so I can try your chicken dish. Happy I found you!
Hi Lisa! I love watching your videos they are just so enjoyable. I've been curious for some time now about using coconut oil but I have no idea which one to buy cause I know I dont want all my food to taste like coconut. Lisa I'd appreciate it if u could please share with which to purchase. Thank u I love all your content but my favorite is your cooking videos I watch them over and over. God bless 🥰
My husband and I have been on a big kick of making fajitas together for our date nights at home. We love steak and shrimp with lots of veggies. It’s so good!
Would you consider doing a video of what your "standard" order from Azure standard looks like? I love how you don't meal prep but just have the same staples on hand that you turn into different meals, but I would love to see what all of your staples are and where you buy them. Thanks :)
Lisa, I just got my very first sourdough starter (🎉🎉🎉) and immediately printed out your recipes for sourdough starter pancakes, pizza crust and English muffins. Wish me luck! ~Caitlin
Love your what we eat in a week videos! I can cook, I just don’t like to! I hate menu planning!! But your meals are healthy, nutritious, easy to make, and look delicious! Thank you for doing this!
As usual these look great! I'm very interested in trying something like you did with the peaches in a savory dish. Easy enough to buy frozen ones at the grocery store. And your Shep Pie looked really good!
I love cooking and eating delicious whole foods with lots of flavor. Thanks for the inspiration! Do you simply use portion control to maintain a healthy weight (i.e. intuitive eating) or do you occasionally have an alternative like salad and skip the calorie dense options? I'm struggling with this personally and would like some insight. Thanks!
Oh lord, you are THE BEST homemade cook!! Everything looks SO good!!! I am going to try that shepherds pie because my husband is a hunter too and we always have so much ground venison. You should do a whole video on ground venison recipes for me. 😉😉
I was in hospital a few weeks ago, when released I was given a bland (no fibre or good veggies) style diet to follow for 3 weeks. Potato soup was a hero for me, with cream cheese or some avocado. I am a vegetarian so this diet was super difficult for me, but part of the recovery.
Hey Lisa! Can you tell me how you store/keep potatoes? I’m trying to use the ones from the garden now but will quickly be buying again (our garden didn’t produce potatoes well this year). I am constantly struggling to keep potatoes fresh and firm and looking beautiful!
Whenever I see that cutting board bouncing around while you chop, I wince waiting for you to chop off a finger. Wet and ring out a dish cloth and put between the counter and cutting board. It will be solid and still as a rock. It allows you to aggresively chop and get a finer cut.
What are you doing for an out of the house date night right now? Nothing seems fun with the restrictions in Minnesota. Masks everywhere you go inside, cold and dark early, etc. Not trying to be negative. I just want some ideas. Thanks!
Juliette, we take picnic lunches or dinners to parks, take walks, stargaze on a blanket at a nearby field, and one of us gets to pick a hike and take the other there. We live in the NE, not as cold as Minnesota, but we bought hefty winter clothes to extend our time outside to at least January.
Love thesee! Should i stop using olive oil for frying? I think it might oxides since it’s on the stove. It never says on the bottle how hot it can get for the temperature.
Here in UK we would only call it Shepherds Pie if it was made with ground lamb with no vegetables added. Other ground meat with veggies added is called cottage pie. Both are delicious.
I respect your butter 🧈 usage 👏🏼
Butter game on point. Would make Paula Dean proud haha
Helpful hint. Add eggs to your mashed potatoes topping. Makes a nice fluffier crispy topping for Shepherds' pie
Great idea!!
Well now I have to do that!!
how do you add the egg? whisk and pour on top, whisk in top layer?
@@ShaunPaget you can mix it with the mashed potatoes
We love date nights at home! We’ve been doing them for about a year and half, alternating who chooses what we do. Sometimes it’s puzzles, or a board game, a cozy movie with the fireplace on, cookie baking, we’ve done painting along with bob ross. So fun, and an easy way to stay connected ❤️
Love the painting with Bob Ross idea!
Smiling, Lisa is in her kitchen. Love these meals!!! Thanks for sharing. Blessings 🌹
Wholesome, comforting and healthy.
Yep... perfect adjectives!!
Such a soothing video.
This girl knows how to cook. You know that she does from how easy she makes it sound, when in fact you need so much practice to nail the recipes.
Your family is an inspiration
Hands down one of the best channels...
awe thank you!
Hamburger helper is my jam! Brings me back to my childhood!
I love your videos.. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.
This is so helpful and inspiring! I'll be making 3 of these dishes this week. You just made menu planning SO much easier for me, THANK YOU!

Eggs on Mac and cheese just binds it all together but you have to put enough cream and cheese so it does not get to stiff
Love this video, especially what you said about the at home date night. That’s so important.
You can use thin slices apples instead of peaches
I needed this🙌🏻
I've been running dry on what to make and my week days have been extremely long because I've been working late. These are great and I feel inspired, thank you💕
God bless😊

Such great food ideas... Thank you..And so cool having date night at home w family...Such a beautiful thing!!
We did the potato soup last week and man, oh, man... it was a hit! Thanks for sharing, Lisa. I definitely rely on you for food inspiration!
I only have one child and she's pretty well grown and I barely cook. Don't really relate to this video at all but!...I could watch you for hours and hours, your voice is so calming and soothing ❤️
I have one daughter as well.... it's just me and hubbyman most of the time.. I make small meals... but I have to watch these regardless
Oh my gosh..your oven reminds me of my moms. Her house, I believe, was built in 1939 and when my parents bought the house it came with all the original items like glass door knobs and what not. i love that!

My first experience with Hamburger Helper was in 1972, yes, 1972, I am sure it was around before then.
always an inspiration to watch - I have not heard someone say 'hamburger helper' in maybe 30 years - yours looks so much better than I remember!
I totally forgot about it, until I tasted this! Haha
I know...and that dish is just ...perfect!!
Date nite...sounds perfect too!!..Oh yes!
I’m always in awe at how much you fit in that cast iron skillet (shepherds pie).

Did anybody else see that noodle fall between the oven and counter . 1:31 time stamp !
All time favourite videos! ❤️

Not your mamas boxed hb helper for sure beautiful meals Lisa!
You’re inspiring me to try something new!!
Thank you for sharing- so much inspirations. I would also love to make more of such videos but oh, it takes long to make hahahah
What food blender/processor do you use? I’m in need of a good sturdy long lasting one.
Thanks
Such a lovely variety of dishes! So scrumptious! 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇵🇰❤️
Loving these videos!!

Do you have any recipe recommendations for cube steak other than country fried steak?
What do you give your kids for snacks during the day??
It all looks delicious.
Yum! Good dinners!
would love to see you make chicken and enikorn dumplings
Hey Lisa!

Haha I get this comment at least a few times every video! I just never remember to do it!
she should also get a bigger one, it gets crowded so quick and she's working on such a small area!
What are you doing for an out of the house date night right now? Nothing seems fun with the restrictions in Minnesota. Masks everywhere you go inside, cold and dark early, etc. Not trying to be negative. I just want some ideas. Thanks!
We don't have restrictions in our town!

I always get hungry watching these videos 😫
Where is your v-neck button up henley from?? And this video is fabulous as usual. You truly make cooking so easy and chill. 🖤
Love thesee! Should i stop using olive oil for frying? I think it might oxides since it’s on the stove. It never says on the bottle how hot it can get for the temperature.
Avocado oil has a high smoke point.
Yummy
