As a old Disabled Gulf War Veteran from 1991 this amazing travel video of San Francisco helps me with my PTSD. I wanted to visit San Francisco with my only Son David but he passed away in 2019 so we never got to go since we are from the East Coast. But , watching this beautiful video i can pretend that we are together driving and enjoying this beautiful City of San Francisco. Thank you again. 🇺🇸.

⚜ Sir, I'm with you on this. My dad passed just after we were planning the same trip. As a matter of fact, he and I were almost there. We got as far as Lake Tahoe with our RV. It was beautiful there, just like heaven. Sadly, he developed pneumonia and passed, after being air lifted from the hospital at Lake Tahoe to St. Mary's Hospital in Reno. One lesson I learned... he didn't pass away. He passed within, and is now, a part of me. I feel his spiritual presence with me every day, all day. I hear his words and his thoughts, through my own. Like you, we enjoyed this drive together, through the sense of imagination. Know, that all is well, at the end of the day. Peace be unto you, good soldier. Peace unto you. ~James🛡 PS: His name is David.
as a 55 yr old guy who spent 12 yrs in the military...Ive done quite a bit of traveling, to places I loved and some I absolutely wound up hating. But there's nothing like leaving the country you were born/raised in, to go elsewhere. So, Im STILL grateful that I was able to see so many places that many wont (Egypt, Paris, New Zealand, to name a few)...but when I tell you San Francisco is my favorite city on Earth?..I mean it. I was stationed there at the old naval station in East Bay (NAS Alameda) in the mid-80s...and minus a little less than a year I spent in a naval training school in Tennessee, I spent my entire enlistment there in East Bay. As a matter of fact, the year that I was discharged was the year that the base was closed and redeveloped. So, I moved into the city to Bernal Heights, near Ceasar Chavez St. SF was a different city then, lets just put it that way. AIDS cut a path thru both sides of the Bay, that to this day, still boggles my mind...it really does. And taker it from someone who lived there for over a decade after I was discharged, much of the homelessness that you see in SF now, is 'residual' from a time when ma y infected folks lost their homes and their way of living..and NEVER got either, back. I lost many friends & acquaintances to AIDS..and made 'final visits" to SF General Hosp, almost too many to count. I just stopped going at a certain point. I remember telling my Mom on the phone once, during that time "I have a feeling that Im not supposed to be seeing this much death at this age, yea?"...and she started to cry. but the beauty of this city and all the cultures and 'ways of being and living" have always kept my attention and love. I cant really explain exactly how I fell in love with this town..it just happened. I do know that you have to take in the city over the course of time, to really get the full taste and experience of it. To me?..it has the best nightlife, food, drinks, educational experiences, shopping, sightseeing, cultural activities and indulgences, that you can get after New York City...and any roadtrip near SF, or up the coast a bit, is always a beautiful experience. And!!!!!!!...you dont bother with snow, unless you leave the city and travel to the snow. I live on the East Coast now...but decided about 3 months ago, I NEEDED to move back to the city that actually feels as close to me, as an immediate relative does. Most of the people that I knew from my time there (the ones that are alive) always remind me that I have no business living back East. You know what?...they're right.
@@IamPotato_007 Im almost tempted to say "dont believe the (negative) hype", to those who havent visited SF. Truth is, SF does have a bad UNHOUSED issue. But there are numerous organizations, tied to both state and federal dollars that are going the distance to build more affordable housing...I mean, compared to what Ive seen on the East Coast, when it comes to housing & food resources for the homeless, California is doing MUCH better than many think. Problem is, Gavin Newsome could do even more to resolve a many-decades long unhoused problem, and he drags his feet....that coming from a pretty progressive person. Both Republican & Democrat politicians in North Cali, are guilty as charged. But PLEASE, visit SF...I dont know how you'll take it all in, but one thing I do know, you'll never forget it. Last time I visited, me and a friend took a little road trip from the city up the coast, stopping at Stinson Beach to eat...as we were parking at a roadside diner, we saw/felt a huge shadow moving above us. I looked up and there perched on top of a utility pole, was a California condor....IT WAS HUGE..and jaw-dropping beautiful. We walked into the diner, that had glass on all sides, and we sorta announced where this huge bird was perched. People actually got up out of their seats to see it. And this lady said "oh, thats a California condor....there's only about 600 in existence, and you dont see them much up this far". I took a picture of it. But, yea...that coastal drive is awesome.
@@SDSFG45 Thank you for taking your precious time and replying. California condor - how marvellous! I love nature. And I do know and seen giant trees. But none like California and especially giant oak trees of SF. More than that I feel the seals and sea of SF is calling me. And I hope to spot a California Condor. Much thank you.

You are supposed to stop, but some people don't fully stop (also called a 'california stop') and just come very close to stopping. This only happens if there is no other car and will usually get you a ticket if a police officer was around.

In the USA do you get an option to stop or not when you come to a stop sign?
You're supposed to come to a stop, but some people are impatient and don't fully stop. They slow down, make sure no one else is crossing and just go.
