- Driving video of San Francisco streets begins with crossing Golden Gate Bridge and then continuing thru some of the legendary steep streets such as Lombard Street ("the crookedest street in the world") among others. There'll also be historic cable cars, beautiful San Francisco sunset and finally crossing Golden Gate Bridge on the way out.
The video is filmed in Hi-Fi stereo with real street sound.

I retired as a Bus Driver from the Golden Gate Transit District---I traveled back and forth across the Bridge between 5 and 6 thousand times a year

I know this is September, 2022, but it's amazing to see the difference between when I worked in the Pacific Heights and Presidio Heights neighborhood from 2017 to 2020. Seeing how few people there are on the streets and the very light traffic is amazing, compared to a few years earlier before the pandemic. I know this is a Sunday afternoon in the video but it's still amazing to see how few people there are out and about. Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid, growing up in the City.

Enjoy your videos but would love to see the attractions like painted ladies, Grace. Cathertal church, Golden Gate Park, the giants baseball parl, Mark Hopkins and Fairmont Hotels. Also Golden Gate Park. Places people from out of state would like to see.
Thanks for the comment! I do understand your concern. Actually I always try to show as many landmarks as possible but unfortunately they look different from the car 🙂. Many times the view is obstructed by trees, other objects, etc. For example, you can check The Painted Ladies at 53:11 - 53:45.
thanks for Ubisoft and Watch dogs 2 to have discovered this incredible city in the game and now i would travel on Airlines to journey in S.F and the test of north California with my personal car who will also travel with me on a cargo plane from France.

I've seen many UA-cam videos of San Francisco. They're all nice because San Francisco makes such beautiful subject matter. I have to say though yours is the best. You've really captured this amazing Californian city. At times, I felt I was literally riding in the front passenger seat right along with you. I like how I could really focus on the wonderful San Francisco residential architecture. That's not always the case in the other preceding videos I've seen. Driving on the Golden Gate bridge at night made a great conclusion. Keep up the excellent work. I just subscribed to DRIVING USA and I look forward to exploring the rest of your content. why there's some spots on cable rail buzzing, anyway I always dream to stay for a long time to work there and visits of course.
Were there toll barriers south of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1998?
I drove across it a few times and walked it too (didn't seem that long when walking!)
That was the only time I've been there or to the States (Irishman in the UK).

Thanks for asking! Unfortunately I don't know anything about tollbooths as far back as 1998 (wiki might know more :)). The video is recent and was filmed in 2022. Hope this helps!

To enter the city of S. Francisco you allways had to pay a toll-bridge, either Golden Gate or Bay Bridge unless is more than 2 people in the car.
I think it missed many of the most interesting spots.
Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, Market, Castro, 24th Street, Haight Ashbury, The Mission, Chinatown, the beach, Lake Merced, Lincoln Park
On the plus side I liked the absence of commentary or a commentator.

Thanks for commenting! Looks like the homeless problem is there to stay, but the locals should know better - maybe they'll write it here in the comments... I'm a local and the homeless problem is still bad. Hasn't improved but it hasn't gotten worse...
That’s why the driver didn’t go to Haight/Ashbury. Last time I was there there were several street sleepers. Just wondering if you will do an update! The street signs were hard to see - many couldn’t be read. Also, would love to see how lower Mission was transformed by the dot-comers. Name some of the stand out buildings, hit the very best part of SF, the Noe Valley and don’t forget twin peaks!
@@Bunny-ii9ks the dot commer gentrification is over. Mission is back to being a rough dangerous area. Most of these areas he drove through are tourist safe areas
Please name the streets or show street signs and other signs that will help the viewer , identify the parks or locations.
Thanks for asking! Actually all streets names can be easily seen in the video at every intersection. Sometimes they are placed overhead hanging from traffic lights or wires (mostly at major intersections). Other times they are placed at separate posts (often combined with traffic signs). For example: 8:57, 43:06, 53:44 (street + place name) etc. Stay tuned!

San Francisco is truly a magnificent city, however the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor are doing a Horrible job and attracting business and residence. Crime, homelessness, drugs, and sky high costs are driving people out of the city. Still, no other city in America has the natural beauty and wonderful weather that San Francisco has.
Sf had higher crime in the 70-early 2000s

Great driving. I like the vid, but not SF…From a bird’s eye view, SF is like a jewel on the golden coast. At street level, it’s one of the most hideous places in America. It looks like a giant, sprawling ghetto.
