Oi, Tiffany! Tudo bem? Glad to hear you love our videos! 😊 In Portuguese, definite articles may come before names, or not. It depends more on the speaker's dialect. So, don't worry about it. If you don't put 'a' or 'o' before a person's name, it is also correct. I will leave below the link to a lesson where you have other uses for definite articles that differ from English. ua-cam.com/video/XKyv2UQWRG4/v-deo.html
Boa noith Bea! I've been learning Portuguese by myself for a month. I use textbooks and watch UA-cam. Of course, your channel is the best. But it is difficult to memorize grammar and vocabulary. Could you give me some advice on learning Portuguese?
Olá, Yuko! Tudo bem? It is important that you practice a lot what you have been learning. Create your own dictionary with new words and expressions learned. Write examples using them. When you feel more confident, write short stories (and share them here, so we can help you improve). Not only this, reading and listening to the target language is essential.
Thank you so much for your channel. Your lessons have been so helpful. I particularly like the Survival Lessons for STORES AND RESTAURANT...they come in handy!
Oi RocAngel! 😊 Thank you for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you find the Survival Lessons for stores and restaurants helpful. It's great to know you're enjoying and benefiting from the content. Is there any specific topic or scenario you'd like us to cover in future lessons? Obrigada! 👏
please how do you advise we learn the play list on your channel for better understanding in Portuguese do we finish one playlist or if not can you give a recommended mix. Is there also a way you can help us build our vocabulary by giving us notes .obrigada
Olá, Moonrin. Tudo bem? If you are a beginner and you are not in a hurry to learn 😊, I suggest you watch the videos in chronological order, from the oldest to the latest. The playlists are more for those learners who want to focus on one aspect of the language and only then move on to the next. But I personally recommend watching all lessons from the oldest to the newest.
Ahh yay! I'm so happy I found you! Haha I have been saying "bem" wrong haha for english it sounds like "bang" tudo bang* haha I have been saying this like tudo ben*🤦♀️😂❤️
andreyanodesousa-5321, welcome to the Portuguese learning journey! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. If you have any specific questions or topics you'd like us to cover for beginners, feel free to ask. Also, what kind of lesson would be most helpful for you in the next video? 🌟
Well, first of all, I would just like to point out that I genuinely appreciate you reaching out. Secondly, I feel diections and prepositions would be extremely helpful.🤞🏽🔥I actually have so many questions but I can't think of them all at once atm, but I will be staying tuned. Again, Muito Obrigado🔥🤞🏽

i just started learning brazillian portuguese and thanks to you i see progress!! i have one question, i was told that some brazillians don’t pronounce the r at the end of the word or pronounce it the same as the french r, is that correct?
Olá, Joey! I am glad to hear you have seen progress in your learning!! When R is at the end of a word, depending on the speaker's dialect, it can be 1.omitted, 2.pronounced similarly to the French R, 3.pronounced similarly to the American R in words like 'bar', or 4.pronounced similarly to the American T in words like 'party'.😮 Below is the link to a lesson where you will find more information about R-sounds in Brazilian Portuguese. ua-cam.com/video/h_mq5SE6SB4/v-deo.html
Olá! Obrigada pela pergunta 😉 Portuguese has defined pronunciation rules depending on the last letter of the word. For example, words ending in 'a', 'o', or 'e' are stressed in the second to last syllable, as we see in "aluno", where 'lu' is the strongest syllable. Words ending in 'l' are stressed in the last syllable, as in "Brasil", where "sil" is stressed. (I will make a class about this in the future). Anyway, whenever a word does not fit into these and other pronunciation rules, it gets either the accute accent (open stressed sound) or the circumflex one (closed stressed sound) to show us where the strongest syllable is and how to make it. Let's take "ótimo" for instance. According to the rule, it should be stressed in the second to last syllable "ti" because it ends with "o". However, as there is an accent, that is the syllable that gets the stress (and in this case, open vowel sound). Take a look at the class about accents and marks. That may help you for now. Nice lessons! Please, you said the word 'daqui' is from two words. What are they? It wasn't very clear. Thanks.
Obrigada! 😊
*Daqui* is the contraction of the preposition *de* and the adverb *aqui.* Example: Eu sou *daqui.* (I am from here.)
