Just been given a Miele washing maching as it wasn't working. I have never seen a washing machine built so well. They really are as good as people say. I came to find out how to get the front off and my jaw dropped when i saw it hinge away. Nearly got mine fixed. That is it now, Miele washing machines.
Thank you !!! I did the same to fine a leakage... but I removed the glass porthole from the door to press it against the seals so water can't splash outside 😉
The little device that was leaking, with the ball inside it, may be an anti-siphon device, so that when the pump stops pumping the waste water, the water from the external drain does not siphon back into the machine - this may be more applicable for when the drain hose is plumbed onto a spigot from a waste water trap under a sink, where the water may be slow to drain. I think most washers now have some form of small hose that runs from the drainout pipe to the soap drawer, with a one way valve installed, so water is not pumped into the drawer when the machine drains, but air can be sucked back though when the pump stops, breaking any siphon action from the drain, back though the pump into the machine.
I've had the same washing machine since 2002 (Miele W864). It's holding quite well up to this day. Recently the clothes have not been washing properly. I only had to replace the main control board and the glass on the door back in 2015.
13:12 Please let me know what tool that is you used to OPEN / close the front of that machine, please. Those three big nuts on the front circle of the opening. Greatly appreciated. from d.
a spanner, or a wrench, or a socket. a universal bicycle tool would do it. But on some machines there is a latch in at the filter that can open the door when it is locked. Check out my other miele videos maybe i have explained it in there.
Dear @@bootsowen, Thank you for the information. ( I understand 'socket set' where I worked while at school, they sold them; now I know what to buy. In the meantime, I did manage to open the lid on my WT2796 WasherDryer, I realised that I had always thought myself too dumb to be able to fix it, but my confidence was boosted this week when I changed a goose-neck kitchen tap cartridge-washer. Thank you for your video(s), they are very helpful, for not just their actual content but the confidence obtained by viewing them. I used to call Miele but once someone fixed it for me ( by restting the heater temperature overheat switch; for forty pounds) a man from the yellow pages. He made me realise that the reset heat button would be something I could try to do myself. I had previously ( 8 times over 23 years ) paid 70 pounds up to 145 pounds for that dryer overheat reset button to be switched back on I hope I live a long time with this new intelligence. Thank you and happy Easter. Cheers from Daniel, near Pimlico in London.
This model is made between 1998-2002 as far as i know, the date and year of production is stamped on the electronic PCB, date and year of production is also written on the inside of the top plate. :-) :-)

I understood where the water was coming from. Close the door and water will not leak.
Thank you !!!

I was amazed that it didn’t really splash that much without laundry.

Is it difficult to replace the control board? My w3444 needs a replacement..
very good concrete mixer
Old Miele were solidly built. New Miele washers now are not as good as that
Thanks for posting this video as it is very helpfull
Definitely the inlet seal gone and the drum squeaking is the bearing seal lol
quite possibly, the funniest video on UA-cam.
I watched it again after your comment and I agree!!
The White plastic bottle in the middle is for the pressureswitch, the leak is definitly coming from the tub seal at the front or it looks like it
