VOLOS and the Port - Greece

Volos is one of the largest and most beautiful Greek cities, located in the center of the country. The port of Volos, built on the innermost point of the Pagasetic Gulf, at the foot of Mount Pelion, is among the busiest in Greece.
The city was the starting point of the ancient famous expedition of Jason and the Argonauts, which is one of the most famous chapters of Greek mythology.
On the pedestrian Argonaut road you will see the sculpture entitled Argo (by the port), created by the artist Nicholas, one of the city's landmarks. You can also see today's Argo, the ship that is a replica of the Argo, (WHICH YOU CAN SEE IN THIS VIDEO) the legendary ship manned by 50 oarsmen and sails on which, according to Greek mythology, about 3,500 years ago, Jason and the Argonauts sailed from Iolkos to the Black Sea to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
