It's day 5 of our Greek Cruise on the the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas and we are in Mykonos Greece
On October 12th 2019 we board the Jewel of the Seas in Rome, Italy for 9 days of cursing around the Mediterranean. We stopped in Crete, Rhodes, Santorini, Athens and now...Mykonos Island in Greece
Videos from all our stops can be found in the Greece Playlist linked here:
• Day 3 - Cruise stop in...
There is one more stop to make, in the Pizza capital of the world Naples, and we will post that video shortly. But for now, we focus on Mykonos ...
Mykonos is known as a glamorous destination for the world's wealthiest and most famous. The island swells with the A-listers, B-listers, C-listers, and D-listers, along with hundreds of thousands of vacationers, hard-partying dance-music junkies, and cruise-shippers for 7 months of the year (April to Oct).
The ship docked in Mykonos New Port and we took the Seabus, which is a small boat taxi at two Euro per person / 4 roundtrip to the old port and town of Chora. We then spent the next 6 to 7 hours exploring the town.
Some spots covered in this video include:
Little Venice in Mykonos Town
Mykonos Windmills
Church of Panagia Paraportiani
Boni's Windmill
Karavaki Restaurant
Island of Delos
Fabrika Bus Station
Mykonos Town Beach
Hidden Cove behind Windmills

Hello. What ship were you on? I will be on odyssey of the seas and i know there are 2 ports, one being much farther from the town. Im curious if they have a water taxt to the town from the new port. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
Hi, we docked at the new port. There is a water taxi or sea bus as they call it, that you can take to the town center. You can see it as you get off the odyssey, just steps away. Everyone will be headed there. When we sailed, it was 5 or 7 euros per person return, could be more now. But it’s easy to find and ride. Have cash to pay. You can see it in the first 3 min of the video.
Cool channel, new friend here
Thanks!

I am debating purchasing a tour called "Best of Mykonos & ancient Delos for $160? It seems cheaper to do a self-tour but things are far from each other. Did you guys rent? And how much?
We struggled with the same problem. Here is my advice. 1. Delos is really just a pile of rocks now. But if you are really into history and ancient ruins, it’s amazing and worth going to for the feeling of being in a legendary place. You can do a half day tour to Delos with guide and ferry from Mykonos for around $60. If you go on your own it’s like 17 euro for the ferry and 5 euro to walk around Delos.
2. Now for Mykonos it depends on what they are offering. If it’s just in the old town, then you don’t need a guide or tour. You can easily walk to all the churches, famous instagram spots, little Venice, the windmills, the shops, the hilltop views, etc on your own for free. In fact with a leisurely pace you can walk all of old town Mykonos in 2 hours (including stops for snacks). All places are on google maps which you can mark ahead of time and there are some free apps that highlight points of interest. My only suggestion would be to research the places you want to see ahead of time. And UA-cam can give you all the places in Mykonos town to visit. We just started walking and covered everything in the old town, no tour. And it was great because we found some hidden gems
3. If you plan to visit paradise beach or other party beaches, you can easily take the public bus (which is a coach bus) from old town Mykonos for like 3 euro. The bus schedules are online. But I doubt the tour would cover this anyway.
4. The only thing that’s far and not convenient to get to is the old Artemis light house. It’s cool for pictures but not much else. You could try a cab or their version of Uber which is called iMove.
So I would ask what your getting for $160, how much of Mykonos island do you get to see outside of old town. If it’s a lot then could be worth it. But it’s just in old town, not worth it.
@@SierrasTravel THANKS for replying back! This is what I get for $160. This eight-hour adventure packs in all the Greek history, culture, and food you could desire as you explore Delos' ancient ruins, eat lunch in Ano Mera village, and take a guided stroll around Mykonos Town. A ferry boat first whisks you away to the uninhabited island of Delos, once a thriving religious and trading center and the mythological birthplace of Apollo. Comb the ruins of Doric temples, the famous Terrace of Lions, plus houses filled with elaborate mosaics, and an Archaeological Museum that houses excavated artifacts. You'll then travel to Ano Mera village to enter the Panagia Tourliani monastery. Dating to 1542, this whitewashed worship space was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and now features wooden iconostasis by Florentine artists. In a nearby tavern, you'll be treated to festive folkloric dancing and music served alongside a spread of Greek salads, souvlaki, pastries, wine, and beer. Top off the day with a guided walking tour of Mykonos Town, where you'll meander a maze of narrow streets lined with Cycladic architecture before sampling the island's Lokum (Turkish delight) and mastika liqueur. This is a multi-dimensional Mykonos experience all on one exciting tour. The only thing making me nervous about taking an Uber(imove) is making sure I am back to the ship on time. I think I will just walk around.
Did you join the cruise excursion or is it a DIY?
