I have been one of your regular followers for getting on for two years now. To rewind a 20KVA 3 Phase alternator back to the original specifications is truly a wonderful feet of engineering.

Lin, please can you show us the math, to compute the correct windings and scheme? It seems to deliver 320V though, is this enough, or do we need more windings? That's probably always the issue, to cram enough wire into the iron core, without ruining its insulation or breaking the wire. To deliver higher voltage, you end up with thinner wire, and it may burn out again. This is with constant wattage. (VA)

What is the purpose of the clear liquid you paint onto the top of the coils? Also, why do you connect a battery to the generator? Does this kick start the output somehow?
The Rotor as you see has wire windings itself, and to yield a strong magnetic field, it is being fed via the rectifier from the Stator output. So after a long time, there is no magnetic field anywhere, and it needs a battery to kick off. Next day, you have still magnetic remanence, and it will work by itself. This ia official electrotechnic school.
