    My manifold just failed after 3 years. It’s a gen 1. I’m guessing the gen 1 manifold had a design flaw that was fixed in the gen 2. Just wish they sold a part to replace the gen 1 manifold rather than having to buy a new system at 500 dollars that’s only 3 years old. At this point in time I’d suggest buying timbrens rather than air. The customer is excellent though. Just put out at the fact my three year old system is junk due to the fact you can’t get another replacement manifold for the gen 1.

      I see the Gen-1 manifolds new on Ebay...

    My instructions say not to mount the compressor facing down. Maybe that had something to do with it 🤷‍♂️.

    I have the same system, mine is a little over 3 years old. I've never had any problems. I just wonder if it was just a defective part or something else. I know that you have a lot more salt and spray to melt ice and snow. I live in southwest Missouri.

      Yea, I'm curious as well why exactly it failed. If they didn't want it back I would've taken it apart myself.

    If the wireless one fails. Can you manually fill or release air in the bags? In other words pull the fuse and use a portable compressor to fill the bags. I don't want to get stuck camping and having no backup plan.

    • @HitchinMitch
      @HitchinMitch  Рік тому +1

      Yes, there is a manual valve to adjust the bags.

    Smart man mounts the system in the cab.

      I've seen hat before but didn't want to have the compressor going off all the time in the cab.. kind of a mood killer 🤷‍♂️ Plus it's made to be weather resistant.

    All the pictures show both units being mounted on the side of the frame rail in my instructions, on the side of a vertical surface. You have yours on top of a horizontal surface. I don't believe that's the correct orientation. I bet it's likely to cause failure.

      I have had no issues with mine since installing it this way. The only issues I had was the regulator valve failing which was mounted the right side up. It's also been a year and a half since this video and this system gets used regularly. With no issues since.

      @@HitchinMitch In the video it appears they are both mounted to the top of a horizontal surface, as I previously described. Did you check the instructions to see if both units are supposed to be mounted on the side of a horizontal vs. vertical surface, such as the side of a frame rail? Not the top...Not sure you understood what I wrote. If you mount it to the side of a horizontal surface in an upright position, it's vastly different than mounting it to the a vertical surface in an upright position.

      @@HitchinMitch I just watched a video on the Airlift website, which shows it's on the side of a frame rail, not the top. My written instructions show the same. Mounting it horizontally instead of vertically there's no such thing as "upright". You need it so you can read the letters from the side of your vehicle, so they are "upright" when you are standing next to your truck.

      @@HitchinMitch I bet your control unit will fail again if it's mounted that way, or the compressor will eventually. I'd recommend installing them correctly in the upright position so you can read them when you are standing upright next to your vehicle.

    Mine quit working this winter. Just checked and my manifold is leaking from the same place. Compressor won't come on. Fuses are good. I'm going to try direct wiring to see if I can power on the compressor. Otherwise it would appear the compressor burnt out from running too much....

      I would be surprised if the compressor stopped working. Mine runs almost daily, but you never know I guess. There customer support is really good though.

      @@peepeesmelly1 the system had about 5k miles on it. And that was around a year ago and I have since put somewhere between 20-25k miles on the replacement manifold. I use it almost every other day.
