More Rant Videos! You hit a home run with this one. Hell I even feel some of these GR releases have felt forced lately. I’d rather them restock a classic than release some of this garbage coming out. Or cut the new models in half and use that staff to open NB1 again.

How do you not point out something like the Medusa (the best 1906 to date)... The materials are insane on that shoe, more unique and original than any other material ever used on a new balance sneaker, especially the tongue. The same can be said for the Scorpius. The meshes and the knits that he uses on those two shoes are the most impressive shit I've seen on a sneaker.. maybe ever.
I personally thought the Rosewater was better
@DylanLey I think it's a shoe that you might just have to get in hand. I know you're a sucker for original different materials. Maybe you haven't studied that shoe enough, but go watch a video where they break down how amazing the materials are. I mean, just look at that double knit it's not even regular mesh it's an actual knit. The material on the waffle tongue that actually moves around has never been done before.
We're on the same page. I prefer colorway that is striking.
I have the blue 990v6 JFG, they really grew on me in person and get more love than any shoe in my current rotation
Never said they were bad shoes or that you shouldn't like them. IDK why people like you need to justify why you bought a shoe just because some random guy on the Internet didn't

Solid Collab and not just because of the colors. They introduce different materials and nice details that also fit the brand.

i agree with some aspects of what youre saying but shouldn't a collaboration be representative of the collaborator's house vision/line/capsule etc? because i for one think jjjjound x new balance are some of the best nb's out there. not because they look flashy but because they don't. same reason i like jjjjound. if they came out with a flashy, non subtle flamboyant sneaker it wouldn't fit their brand ethos. to me that's what's important in a collab. collabs should be more polarizing and depending on the price should come with some extras ( presentation,laces,etc) but i think that's more to do with the cost and not a must do. in any case great video. as for standout, fashion statement pieces i think salahe has got to be one of the best if not the best for being tastefully loud af. again just imho llol.
Jjjjound's collabs definitely fit their "vision", but their still nothing special or creative lol
Also jjjjound's clothing and "style" is so damn plain and uninteresting I'm not too sure what you would even call their vision other than "basic" or "plain"
@@DylanLey i'm not trying to die on the jjjjound field here lol, im just sauying. i think people that are willing to pay for jjjjound products would argue that they're classic not basic lol.
Completely disagree about the UPTHERE 1906r. Most of the online photos did not do it justice, and in hand they are beautiful, not to mention how fun the lace options are. There were not as many silver GR releases, or even many GR's at all of the 1906r at the time, so to compare them to more recent GR releases is a bit unfair as they did not exist until after the UPTHERE release. Not to mention, they would easily be the best of any silver GR release based on execution and the small touches they did well.
I compared them to all of the grey/silver/white GRs at the time (2023). I wasn't talking about any of the GRs that came out this year (although most of the 1906R GRs this year blow that "collab" out of the water). I literally throw them up against a bunch of the GRs from 2023 and earlier...
Agree with jjjjound. The gortex were good though. You want those darker colors if you’re out in the rain or wet weather. Great reviews as always, thank you!
