  • We visit the Horseshoe Game Reserve, Camp at Paradise Drive through Natures Valley 4x4 During this leg our movements are governed by bad weather systems.
Regrettably we leave the horseshoe game farm, there was a lot more to explore here.
The rain had finally caught up with us.
In one sense, it forced us to keep moving, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, with a big storm approaching that we couldn’t avoid, We headed inland to Stutterheim for shelter at the enchanting Shire Eco Lodge.
After being cooped up in our hut for two rainy days, we decide it’s time to stretch our legs and embark on a walk through the forest.
We were the only ones to brave the rain, but it felt like the perfect way to begin 2024.
The rivers were gushing with water after the heavy rains .
The forest is alive with the calls of samango monkeys, their chattering echoing through the canopy. Spiders have set their delicate traps, glistening with droplets. Birds sing intricate tunes, undeterred by the rain, and the periodic buzz of cicadas fills the air.
The experience is a profound reminder of nature at its best, nurturing and full of life.
Our plan to the camp at De Vasselot campsite in Natures Valley was foiled. Unfortunately we had to book well in advance for these prized camps in high season.
…and so We pushed on to Wilderness to try our luck.
Despite our misfortune The detour down the Grootrivier pas did not disappoint .
Our pilgrimage to theEastern Cape delivered the promise of adventure. It was more than a journey across landscapes; it’s a passage through the soul of a nation and a reflection of our own inner landscapes.
The people of the eastern cape, reveal ed the essence of community and the beauty of simple living. Their smiles and stories remind us that life's true wealth lies in human connection and shared experiences.
Sadly our Eastbound & Wild series has come to an end, but paved the way for another adventure .
Join us in the upcoming series as we get expedition ready for a lap around Botswana and Namibia.

Wow, sounds like a really good trip. But can totally understand why you wanted to come back. That’s the problem, the more you discover the region, the more time you want to spend in these amazing areas. We are fortunate to live relatively close to allow us to pursue our passion. Keeping fingers crossed for some better flight prices.
Thanks for taking time out to reach out. 😉

Argh shame life is tough 😂. Brilliant videography especially the forest mushrooms... Including the slip sliding action shots😂. Looks like you guys are pulling the rain with you. We have been flooding here in the South 😂. Rain coming again this weekend apparently... Keep warm and dry.
    Cheers

Yup, we take one for the team 🤣
So happy you like all our funghi fun and Christoph’s acrobatics. We certainly have had enough rain here in Cape Town and it looks like there is still much more to come. Keep warm as well and see you soon in our Botswana series, coming soon.

Enjoy your content. Why is your Alucab strapped down?

    • @SoulTonicLife
      @SoulTonicLife  15 днів тому

We had the older gen latches on the tent and one broke en-route. Alucab replaced it for us at no cost with their new improved latches. So no need for the strap anymore. The tents are amazing though.
