That old tag is really cool. Sorry to hear about the issues with your arnie, i have one and never had an issue with it.
Yeah, it was a manufacturing issue that only impacted some of the newer years of them. It's a shame, as I would have no problems with the watch if it arrived working. Needing two trips to Seiko to get fixed has certainly tempered how I feel about the watch.
Love the Tag though! Thanks for watching!
I was blessed with you video across my for you page, and I love the look of the Tag!
Thanks for the kind words Andrew!
@@Paul_WhaleyHey paul, I actually ended up picking up the same Tag after seeing it in your video and thinking about it for a while, and was wondering if you had any tips taking off the metal bracelet. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong, this is the first time I’ve tried to change out a strap. Just seems to be a weird piece of the oem strap sitting on top and the bottom of it. Thanks!
Dude, that Tag is amazing!
Thanks! It's really a neat piece!
Excellent collection! I’m a massive Casio and Seiko fan, have far too many and need to downsize, having said that I need an Arnie and a 6900 lol. Also love Bond being a Brit, and an early Planet Ocean is also a grail for me, great choice! Happy with my SLA023 but will add a Swiss diver 1 day. I’m guessing a No Time To Die is a future grail for you? Subbed.
@@rsq72 Firstly, thank you for the kind words and insightful comment!
It’s so easy to end up with a pile of watches. I’ve been there, but I’ve realized that a smaller collection means a collection that gets worn more, which I’ve appreciated a whole lot more.
The Arnie and 6900 are both pretty fun watches. Even with my Seiko QC/CS issues, the Arnie is a watch that I really enjoy. Heck, I’m wearing it right now. The 6900 looks awesome, which is a big part as to why I bought it. I grew up with a G-Shock circle as my only watch, and I think I had a subconscious desire for another one lingering around when I bought this one.
The early Planet Oceans are fantastic. My old SMP 300 is my favorite watch, but I think that my PO is better made. Modern Omegas are really quite thick and chunky, and the PO feels like a much different watch now compared to the first generation.
As far as I’m concerned, the “Swiss Made” on the dial means nothing. I’m driven by design, features, and looks. I’ve got Swiss watches purely because I like how they look (and the Bond marketing worked, hahaha).
Truth be told, I don’t really dig the NTTD watch. It looks cool, but it’s thick, far too expensive, and lacks a date window. I’m still utilitarian in the sense that I need the date on the watch to really enjoy it. When it comes to grails, I think I’ve got my two. For a future watch purchase, I’m really looking into CWC (love the look, love the history), and the newer Tag Nightdiver.
The Marinemaster is a great watch, so don’t feel too stressed to add something Swiss to the collection.
I like the collection,
Love the collection and the Tag! Great full lume dial. Gotta have lots of Lume!’
Thanks Tim! It's a really neat watch, I know you'll dig it.
Very cool Tag man! Love the Seamaster too! A solar square is a great foundation piece! I like the 6900 exactly for those weird useless subdials. Ive got them on a few of my watches. They are just fun to look at lol. Never knew the Arnie was a bond watch... How about that! That red strap on your second Omega is very catchy. It looks really good! I agree with you on dress watches. They are super hard to buy. I could buy divers all day long but the right dress watch is very hard to buy. I recently bought an old Pulsar with a luminous dial from the nineties as well and they are so cool. A bit small but I like these! Your Tag looks very cool man congrats!
Thanks for the kind words Johan! I'd love to see that Pulsar some day, I think they really made some sweet watches. The new Tag is certainly different, and I like how small it is.
Have a great day my friend!
@@Paul_Whaley I'm sure you will! You too man! 💪💪
Really enjoying the smaller older planet ocean. It’s always a look that I’ve liked but know is too big for me. The older model may be a perfect fit for me to look into. Thanks!!!
Truthfully, I just really like the more low-key look of the PO, and that they are a little thinner. I'd say that if you could find one to try on before buying, that would be the best bet. I bought mine online, but I knew that it would fit well as I had worn watches with very similar dimensions.
Thanks for watching Logan!
I wish the older planet oceans came in smaller sizes like 38-39mm. The new ones are too chunky
Yeah, they just did the 42.5mm & 45.5mm for the first gen. Honestly, both wear smaller than the case would make you think, but it would have been nifty to have a sub-40 PO from before they got heavy.
Heck, I think that most modern Omegas have a chunk-problem. Even the Aqua Terra is a thick watch.
Thanks for watching Zach!
Is that the 36mm Seamaster?
Nope, it's the 41mm model, the 2531.80. Wears great though, which I chock up to the thin profile and curved lugs.
@@Paul_Whaley beautiful piece
