      I understand that you want to see the music go further ,but you have to put things into perspective and stop being dismissive.,and thinking it's all about how you see things bro .As mediocre as the music may seem ,we can't undermine the work of the current crop,.You asking about record labels coming to Jamaica,when independent is the way to go ./Afrobeat wasn't around in the 90s, when Dancehall music was dominant,yet we keep reverting to those years as if each year doesn't come with it's unique challenges.
      The funny thing is we constantly talk about what's wrong with the music ,yet we never highlight the, 2 main issues .🤔
      (1 )Patois coupled with poor interviews.
      (2) The migration of our top artist and producers ,.The music can't be sustainable,if our key players reside outside the factory.
      THOSE ARE THE ELEPHANTS ON THE WALL THAT THEY IGNORE.

    Triple is speaking TRUTH. Especially about Sheng Yeng 100000% true. I was waiting for her to dominate the dancehall space in the US and what they have her doing is complete BS. Who told her to rap on a song with one of the best female rappers out now? Who told her to re-create rap? Who’s telling her to sing ballads? Wtf Also as long as Jamaica seems lawless and seems like they don’t have consequence for actions, investments won’t flow freely. Only from the Chinese who want to leach off our society and secretly own it. They don’t want to invest to see US grow. They want to drain us. That’s another conversation

    Biggest problem with dancehall is the evil and darkness in it. Ppl outside Jamaica don’t want hear dat coming from Jamaica in abundance. That is the main reason Afrobeats has gotten so popular.

    • @damage678
      @damage678 Рік тому +1

      Drill is literally the biggest sub-genre in the biggest genre of music itw rn. I don’t think that’s the problem. Music is all about networking and marketing. You get one hot song in the dancehall and every Jamaican knows you, 3 mill people aren’t enough. By the time new artists reach the US they think they’re already established but only the diaspora knows them. They have no aspirations to become bigger that’s the problem. Popcaan showed me that, he has some of the biggest artists in the world at his disposal. He put out an album with two Drake features, no press run, no music videos, just instagram posts. The man dem just want run yaad😂😂😂

    • @mrcosna1
      @mrcosna1 Рік тому +2

      @@damage678
      Ppl want it from hip hop and rap but not dancehall, especially when the music sounds like drill. Why you think 90s music had the most collaborations between dancehall and other genres? The dancehall of today is not what dancehall is known for. With every generation of it evolving there was certain aspects of the music that was still prevalent that doesn’t exist anymore
