Hey Joseph, I own 650 and 400 both... 650 does get very hot in summer. I ride that in Mumbai (India) and weather is just like Manila and i know that because I have lived in Manila for 2 years. But be a sure that it is good bike to ride in the city, Minus the rear view mirrors which are annoying while lane filter in the tight space.
whats the big differences you notice between the 400 and 650? what do you like better?
@@JosephMyLife Big difference i would say is the power. 400 is good to ride in the busy traffic and 650 for tours. Install and two brothers on 650 with power commander and burn the roads :P

If you're keeping the Rusi for the city, get a 650. It's just easier to access the power when needed, and it's a much more relaxed mile muncher. Although obviously the Versys 650 is a much better tourer, but that style doesn't float your boat.
and the mileage will be a problem for a bike especially when traffic

There was a problem with the ninja 400. If you have the specs on it. Thats why its not allowed in superhighways.

What is the highest speed limit in Philippine highways? In Canada I used to highway my ninja 250,speed limit is 120km/hr. A 400cc is way more than enough for highway speed. Philippines have interesting exemption laws.
depends on which road you're in. In expressways, with toll booths in between, a good 100 or 120 is enough. anymore than that, you'll get caught by speed gun or cameras and they will charge you extra when u reach the booth. Outside the expressways, in open roads especially outside the urban areas, you can max out your bike. But be mindful of highway police though.
Ed, It's not your style so you won't be buying one, but if they have a Royal Enfield 650 (new twin cylinder) then try to get a test ride. I expect it to be a big sales hit in USA/Europe as it's similar to some Triumphs but a fair bit cheaper.

When we went to check out big bikes to buy, I was just considering the 400, so when we went to Kawasaki, we were surprised that the 400 looks big, so big that you can mistake it for a 600-1000cc bike. Good thing was there was a 650 there, and they just look similar! When we were in the market for a 400 I was ecstatic that the 400 looked too good! However, since the price was just very close... like 100k right for an upgrade to a 650, and minus the express way issues etc... I thought of the opposite. The 650 looked too much alike the 400... You go from "woah my 400cc bike looks like a 650!" to "oh no, my 650 looks like a 400", and that's what threw me off.
Still though, looks aside, the Ninja 650 is pretty good for Manila riding, as I've already seen quite a few with the 400 and 650 riding out on the streets no problem. It's light too, and a jap. bike, so you already know it's pretty tight.
But I digress, we've already seen this Joseph! Except maybe the first part of the video lol, I'm excited to see if you've already customized your 650

i hate bikes that have the lights mounted on the frame.. when driving at night and there is a sharp curve. you wont see the road! if there is a hole/dog/cat, it will be too late to dodge before you see it.
