- Hey! Welcome back to the back of the Enterprise!!! This is why I purchased the Pontos detail set. Because it has a lot of large pieces of PE. Looks fancy and complicated, but is, so far, easy to assemble and looks great.

"The Devil is in the details" and you really nailed it there, what a dilemma, was driving me crazy too!
I appreciate your skills and really appreciate that you share them with us! Thanks.
Ben, good to see another video, keep pressing on !!
Ben, great job on the fantail, keep up the amazing work
Hi from New Zealand , Down under the country that is down under.
Enjoy watching your modeling . Amazing how much thought goes into preparation and understanding instruction and sequence
Geez all the photo etch. I guess now days you wanna be more accurate... you go with it. I wish they had this back in the early 70's when I started building models. Can you imagine were we would be now if that was true. LOL thanks for posting these makes building more fun. You know I'm not that far from you all. I live close to Manhattan KS.
Beautiful work!
Im just doing same peace of cv6. Very informative. Thx dude.
The G3 „Big Room on the fantail“ structure was a test stand for aircraft motors, so they could be run outside the main hangar environment in a well ventilated area (and help keeping noise levels in the busy hangar down, I guess)
Wow amazing vid 👍👍💞💞💪💪🍺🍺
Perfect solution Ben, that's what I was thinking while you were pondering the aft deck and bulkhead.
Beautiful work as always.
Be well and happy building!
I swear some companies have little to no QC when it comes to the instructions in aftermarket sets. I always study the completed pictures before I even look at removing anything. I have run into that problem before 19:57..
Great work. I have the 1:350 Enterprise with Pontos PE set and from what i see in this stream the stern section looks almost identical to the 1350 PE set.
I bet they are. I wouldn’t doubt that they just scaled everything “up” for the larger kit. Which is great! Because you’ll have phenomenal detail in 1/350 scale.
Great fix ben ,still cant get my head around that blue hull ,feel it should be grey ,which it wasnt .
Very nice job 😊😊😊👍👍👍
It looks nice so far
Ben, she is looking really good. Great video.
That area does look cool, kind of wondered whats in that room???
Hi Ben. Love watching your builds. When will you post another Enterprise video? Going through withdrawals! 🤣🤣
Hopefully in a couple weeks
Nice build of a complicated area. One not at all helped by Pontos' anti-proof-read instructions.
Typically, a large (e.g. 40') personnel boat carried both sides, one for the captain, the other for any embarked Admirals. (Boat for Captain is a "gig"; for Admiral is a "barge" by long-standing Naval Custom). Most other boats are left ashore as having flammable wooden boats near aviation fuel doe not make for ideal Damage Control situations. (Heaving a bunch of kapok & balsa rafts over the side when on fire not near as emotional as a cared-for Ship's boat, too)
Wow
I love the work you do! Have you ever delt with Model-Monkey parts? They have a huge number of things for many scales.
That is just cool. The long pondering about the deck and bulkhead was interesting, and detailed, and well thought out. I think. It went together well but its sad that you can't see the "front" of the little house. It looked VERY interesting. What's supposed to be inside the grills? Not that you can see much, but that would have been interesting if there had been something inside and it was lit. Who knows. Beautiful work. This will be up there with your Missouri. Onward.
Thanks Perry!!! I always appreciate your thoughts and comments. So I have a couple sets of blue prints for the York Town class carriers and I should probably look at them… but a gentleman commented that would have been an engine test bay, if you will, during the war. I can see needing to do static runs. So this makes sense to get that racket and work away from everything else in the main hanger.
@@TheMidwestModelShop An engine test bay makes perfect sense. Still would make an interesting thing to see inside the "cage". Also, thanks for your kind words!!!
Pontos could have done a better job on the instructions. There are several mislabeled parts you will encounter later. Your doing a great job, wished I had waited longer to build mine. You have some great ideas I would have liked to have done on mine.
Im finding that a number of trumpeter models are not of very high quality for the price. You end up having to make adjustments to the parts in order to get a decent fit.
Man, your killing me! Ships don't have floors and walls, they have decks and bulkheads. They don't have stairs, they have vertical and inclined ladders! Really awesome work though. I love hearing your thought process as you go along.
Lots of drywall and crown molding coming up in the next episode! It’s gonna be great! And the escalators! So good. Just so good.
@@TheMidwestModelShop NO you missed what he said.
@@jamesmaroon6161he was joking bud
@JordanAkin-dx3su like I don't know him. No one knows me. I might be a little mental. After all I am a former Marine. It's best that people leave me alone. I have PTSD real bad
@@jamesmaroon6161 I wasn't talking about you bud it's meant to explain to the guy the said he was bitching about the model and just build it. I didn't mean anything bad by it that's all.
Ben have you seen the Studio Blue Ocean uTube video that he did on the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri diorama? It was very interesting.
I did!!!
If only I had the budget and space for a 1/200 scale ship… I guess I’m stuck with 1/350.
That’s why I’m hoping the 1/200 Fletchers are released sooner rather than later.
Question:Do you use a Primer on PE and what are those U shaped recesses on the PE bender for?
Yes I use a metal primer. All of the shapes on the bender are meant to accompany all of the different bench you may have to make with PE.
hi i was wondering how much it would cost for you to build me a 1/24 scale airfix harrier gr 1 i have the kit but nothing else
Stop bitching about the model!!! I want to see the build!!!!
Actually Ben is being kind and cutting Trumpeter a ton of slack. He's doing a great job identifying and working though multiple significant issues that, if not addressed early, will cascade into major problems down the road. His comments, as well as those presented by Kenneth (Norwegian Modeler) give the average modeler a fighting chance to build a model that they can be proud of. Rather than bitch why don't you buy the kits (Trumpeter, plus Pontos and KA/MK brass) yourself and you'll see EXACTLY what I mean.
You know if you don't like this then unsubscribe from him and watch other builders that don't talk much or at all and I know for a fact there's a lot of them and no I don't watch them because personally I don't learn anything and have unanswered questions or need the help and guidance from more knowledgeable builders and those are boring to watch that don't say anything and i know most builder that follow Ben and others like him love it
