I love how you lend a light hearted view to otherwise technical and dreary subjects. Your channel is reminding me of Potato Jet for photography. Props to you’re hard work and success!
Am I missing something - I am paying for Patreon and Taylor’s new website, yet it seems like more videos are being uploaded to UA-cam than the other two sites I am paying for. Is it best to just stick with UA-cam, it will be cheaper for me...
No need to be on both sites, cancel Patreon for sure. The member site is where I upload all of my full length courses moving forward. Elopements course went up this month. Commercial/Social Media Sessions in Sept. then the new How To Travel The World for Nearly Free guide (basically using your camera to get paid to travel) is going up in October. None of that content will be up on UA-cam
you need so much space with an 85, i wish i could use it intuitively but i always have to step back with it when i put the camera to my eye. i prefer 50 for full-body vertical shots, i love how half-body shots look with 85 though..
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Hey Taylor I have the Sony 90mm 2.8 Macro which I have bought for occasional macro pictures but have been using it for portraits also. Been very happy with it but have been looking to upgrade for the extra stops on the 1.8 or 1.4. Do you think it's worth the money to upgrade?
I have a nikon z 50 with a E to Z adapter. I bought cause my friend gave me his canon 85mm full frame cine 1.5 lens for helping him move. Im learning photography and filming
I've gone full circle. Was my first lens on the nikon and it wasn't until selling and experimenting with lots of other lenses thst I came back to this 85mm. There are more strengths to this lens than weaknesses. Become a master of the 85mm.
Ikmal Azman it’s not that great...I just mainly take photos for fun and practice. I haven’t had a lot of clients. But if you want to look, my IG is @elizabethblakephotography
So I've watched all your videos but somehow haven't seen this one until now! How did that happen!? This was so entertaining and the job interview was hilarious. Nice work Taylor!
Your songs are so god-awfully cringe; i love it! I recently picked up an 85mm 1.4 and there is a lot to love. I think one of my favourite parts about having the access to 1.4 is the confidence that you are always going to be able to find a shot, regardless of what the light does. The bokeh is nice too, i guess. The chromatic aberations are crazy at times though. Any tips for dealing with them? You mentioned stopping down in the video; do you have a sweet spot you know where you wont have to compete with them?
It’s all different and it’s a bit of a learning curve at 1.4. I know situations it will perform well, and I know situations it might struggle, and I always play it safe then.
85mm 1.8 is my number one choice.
I love how you lend a light hearted view to otherwise technical and dreary subjects. Your channel is reminding me of Potato Jet for photography. Props to you’re hard work and success!
I want to remember how shallow my depth of field was 😂😂😂
I fricken love you, Taylor. I wanna be your friend!
Sus
My 85 1.8 is glued to my camera 👌 love the background seperation
Great video mate. I also am huge fan of 85mm lens. I own sigma 85mm 1.4 combined with a7iii. Loving it
Your humor is so gorgeous XD or should i say bokelishous
Hah I tried to make this song a while ago, but I’m not good at being Fergie
love the intro song😂😂
"that's cool dad, maybe someday you'll be the market leader again" ☠️

Bro... You crack me up... The off to Miami...🤣😂🤣..

Totally I prefer the 50mm I don't have to take those steps back.
The z 85mm 1.8 as per tests done actually outperforms the 85f 1.4 and sigma 1.4 if u look at their mtf charts
Darn it Taylor !! Not this year !!
Stop making me second guess my decision not to purchase a new lens this year !!
Hah there are less expensive versions of 85s out there!
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Problem is I can't settle with something other than this version. Ah!

lol when is your album coming out? xD
Would you recommend against using a manual voigtlander 58 1.4 for static portraits or engagement sessions?
Taylor is the reason why I use an 85 mm. I love it! 🎉

The 85mm just works. I had a photo shoot yesterday and it really makes you choose a subject.
Lol all I have is a Sony 85mm f1.8 and a Sigma 35mm f1.4 ART for my Sony A7RIII
Ashley Compton nice , what you ig, wanna see your work

How did u get them all in focus at 1.4??😅😅 have tried so many times with my sigma 85 1.4 and it's impossible to get more than 1 person in focus 😭😭
If they’re on the same focal plane it should be fine. If you’re on dslr it also might require af fine tuning
@TaylorJacksonPhoto I appreciate ur response. I'm a beginner and shooting with sony a7iii. When u say focal plane, meaning "backing up a bit more'?
I recently buy a 85mm 1.8g it really amazing. Just enjoying my shoots
When the 85 hits on the eye at 1.4... nothing like it... except when the 105 does
A ft yo GH ugyy
Love the effort put into these videos for your informative videos. Just love you my dude
Fast glass is the only thing I'm carrying.. 🎵 🤣✌❤ love that verse
So shallow! Hahaha love it
Your introductions are always soo great ‼️
Dude you’re such a low key badass
I’m bokeh champion
@taylor
whats you opinion on the Canon RF 85mm 1.2?
It’s amazing. But very heavy. And expensive
You're so damn awesome.
What are you filmng on?
A lot of cameras in this. Probably an R6, Z6, GoPro, and iPhone
I feel like you might have to take sooo many steps just like 50mm, what do you use in a tight space ?
Bars!.. 😁👌
So I've watched all your videos but somehow haven't seen this one until now! How did that happen!? This was so entertaining and the job interview was hilarious. Nice work Taylor!
Just for this to be a “UA-cam “ video you sure put work into this as if it’s a film and I love it
The Eminem of photography 🤣😂
Love your videos man. No kidding
This video is golden 😂 your dit an amazing job. Thanks
I’m not a pro shooter at all but great advice for me just learning thanks phil in Blackpool
Videos made fun. Super interesting to watch. Keep it up 💯

Freaking hilarious! Love it!
perhaps one of the best intro's ever created
Great! Thanks! Do you need a ND Filter to shhot at 1.2?
Outdoors yep.
That 80's theme music though......
The intro was hilarious 😆 x2
Which one you suggest between 50mm and 85mm for DX body ?
Dx for sure
just sold mine, sigma art 85/1.4 Never used it. Never got the hype. Like what so ever. I love being close to the people I take photos of I guess ;D
For what it’s worth, that is the only 85 I’d never recommend because of how awkwardly they made/weighted it. New one for Sony looks good tho
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto i just dont like being that far away from the ones im shooting xD
I really wanna watch survivor island of photographers
Me too. Coming in 2022
😂 Bokeh Bokeh Bokeh Champion!
2:10 that lens looks so done 😂😂
The beginning was awesome
The beach intro was *the best* 🙌
Wow BARS!!!
that is gta vice city😂
bokeh champion!!
😂😂😂 special intro
Loved this video!
85mm f 1.4 is ❤
Do you still stand behind the tamron 85 ?
Yep! If you’re on DSLR is still probably the best option for Nikon if you want VR.
Very nice 👍
Who the heck downvoted this? They have no sense of humor!!!
I get a lot lot of comments to stop making jokes because photography is a serious art and should be treated as such haha
Taylor Jackson booo them! More jokes.
The “G” in G Master stands for GAMER
Just commented about this on the Facebook patron
You are incredible!! 😂
Quit watching because of the ridiculous intro....
What’s an intro?
