I love the fact that you latched on to such a wonderful piece for euphonium by such a wonderful, underplayed composer. BRAVO for your amazing performance!
Brilliant Stuff Dan, i remember some yrs ago i was at a trade stand at St.Georges Hall Bradford at the YRBBC, cannot remember the year but there was this enthusiastic young man hanging around the instruments stand picking this that and the other up and having a blow. that little kid and I spoke briefly, little did i know the path that this young lad was on. Marvellous stuff and the career you have had so far,.... the smile at the ends says it all, i'd listen to you all day...... Ps do you remember that time at St.Georges ?
Daniel Thomas me and my dad just wanted to say that we’ve seen u live and ,my dad also being a euphonium player, think your a credit to the brass banding world so dont ever stop!
@@danielthomas7629 Hello! So I checked out the book after I read your comment. Was hoping you could clear something up for me, the book stressed quite a few times "Don't try to make these clinical exercises part of your regular playing. Time and practice will change your playing habit". And i was wondering if he was referring to the 4 steps? Breathe with your nose, don't remove your mouth from the mouthpiece and maintain the same pressure as the previous note? Thank you very much!
@@AshTSparkle Hi there! Yes, they are not musical exercises, just supplemental studies to add to your current routine. Don't do the 4 steps with any other practice except Caruso, as it's very strenuous! Please get in touch via my website if you want a more thorough explanation!
Stud level playing. Doesn't even look like you're blowing 90% of the time. Just flying fingers and an almost bored expression that somehow results in screaming high notes.
You certainly know how to do the business. I hear lots of Garry Curtin influence in your band and solo playing, am l correct? I also hear Bob Childs influences of course.
This is incredible!
Brilliant performance! I feel that you are, often, overlooked as one of the finest Euphonium Players in the world!
Well...that is amazing! Daniel, I think you have just "raised the bar."

What do you do to practice your high range? It's sounds flawless and so rich!
I'm a big fan of the Carmine Caruso calisthenics! They really help get your chops sorted.
