***** I think 700 rpm is a great rate of fire because the negative effect of muzzle attachments is outweighed by the bonuses at lower than 750rpm. I mean look at the AK5C for example.

Not the only one I think that's the best weapon, it's one of the best rifles (rated) and in the battlefield it self it works great! So I think the sar-21 had to be in this vid!👍🏼👍🏼

It really is. That gun is such a beast at medium range combat.
Killed lots of snipers with and not from close or medium range I'm talking long range.

M16A4 is my favourite, it can actually kill someone in like 4 bullets where as the full autos seem to get about 1 hitmarker every 3 bullets even at point blank range. On PS4 atleast.

SCAR-H silenced in locker is a real pleasure to use. AN-94 on burst mode is the best statistical AR if you can consistently fire it at a rate of around 300-350 clicks per minute, but obviously harder to use than the non burst options up close.
Great vid lvl now we just need one on carbines, dmr's, shotguns and sniper rifles. I really appreciate this as I've gone back to BF4 lately and been loving it

I get that burst fire guns aren't popular, but man, once you know how to control them they rock! Even this video hasn't convinced me to change my M16A4 to anything else.
Nice vid Charlie. I think it's great that you mentioned the pros in the ESL since sadly everybody hates on them. Just have to add something: nobody plays the AEK with the angled grip. Everybody runs the stubby grip on it.

f2000 has good recoil, good damage, very good fire rate and a good mag size, the only downside is the long reload time but you only have to reload every three kills or so

SAR-21, AN 94, AEK 971, Scar H, and M416 are my top five. SAR is great for me; as I like to do long flanks and it helps to take down baddies from range and could slap on a suppressor to be sneaky beaky. Overall, I prefer the longer range AR

I personally love the 416, I feel like my loadout is versatile enough to do the tasks I need & hasn't let me down. I know I'm a year behind but I've give back to BF4 a few times & find my class loadout isn't a master setup but it's versatile enough to adjust to almost any situation & I find myself playing around with customizing my rifle to a specific situation to an extent yet retain generalist characteristics.
I still have yet to use any of the ACE weapons, they all just have a negative connotation in my mind. Why would I want to use the weapon most would consider the best or at times over powered? I still do top of the team when I'm using some of the worst weapons. (PKP iron sights and bipod for days) Also people who rely on the rate of fire of their weapon, just make me shake my head.

Robert Ward I use weapons that aren't considered the best because I enjoy the challenge of mastering a difficult weapon. Easy to use weapons aren't all that fun to me.
The ACE guns are israeli made and therefore jewish, just like the MTAR.

there is no such thing called best gun, best car, best jet. as game developers, we make to each thing the right to shine in the proper hands in the right time.

I could say that the title was wrong to be honest...I believe after playing with all guns that every one is suitable for some situations but actually LevelCap here is telling the best gun for its situation which is based on some logic matter like the guns with good reload time, good rate of fire are better for short to medium ranges...while guns with high accuracy, high damage are for long ranges...

Short version: ACE 23 and AEK are still the best guns in the game.

Alan Lightner AUG doesn't really make sense. It's a bullpup (better hipfire) which is nice for CQB, but a 700 RPM gun with 2.5sec short reload has no place in CQB. For medium range you're better off with AR160 or CZ805, both of which are more accurate.
Or better yet, go a bit more aggressive with ACE 23 / AEK.

+Xuvial Sylvester I've had incredible games in my AUG it's my go to weapon when I start feeding in tough matches and it's just 750RPM but trust me. It outbeats an AEK at range due to lower recoil and even close range if you fire while moving eg: strafing. The reload makes it extremely useful too if you're in a sticky situation and it's extremely good looking. The AUG was the sole reason why ESL removed it and all other bullpups from their list due to the fact that it's unbalanced as hell for the AUG. It's the best bullpup in the game followed by the Famas for it's extreme fire rate then the other bullpup rifles.
pretty much.... You'd think with 100+ guns in the game people would have more diverse loadouts, not just muh aek or ace23

Hey levelcap, I know you're probably too busy to read this but if you happen to read it here it is.
I'm on the last few weapons on my path to mastering every weapon in battlefield 4. I'm on the PDW called the JS2, after its clip was reduced to 30 rounds I stopped using it, but recently i noticed I'm getting four shot kills pretty far across the map, I can outgun most players even while they use assault rifles. I haven't noticed anyone else using it so if you wanted to review it the JS2 could become a more popular used PDW.
Aside from that I'd like to say good job with all the content and I've enjoyed your videos, keep up the good work! :)

With over 10k kills with it I can say from experience it's certainly a brilliant, versatile weapon. I actually use the Angled Foregrip, 3.4 Prisma and Canted Irons without any Barrel attachment on it, because I find that the downsides to all of the Barrel attachments actually outweigh the positives when it comes to the L85A2 at least, for versatility at least (I don't change my loadout between maps) and due to the recoil being so manageable, once you get used to it the stubby grip isn't even necessary as you can tap-fire for medium range brilliantly.
Getting used to switching to Single Fire for targets at ranges of 200m+ you can genuinely counter-snipe aggressive recons if you get your head shots off in quick succession, which makes the higher muzzle velocity and angled grip even more effective.
Just a brilliant, versatile gun once you know your way around it.

Am I the only one who wants a milsim mode? all guns shoot semi-auto besides LMGs, 75% less health than normal, I think that would be pretty amazing but who knows, maybe Battle field 5 will have something like that.

@@mrawesome1609 Yeah that would be hard to balance. Unless you simulate body armor, requiring headshots since they use pistol rounds (excepting 5.7mm's like the p90 or cmmg banshee those might get through armor), you can make accurate smg hits way past 100m reliably irl so I'm not sure how you'd keep them from outshining rifles and carbines. Unless maybe you tie gun/equipment/ammo weight to speed maneuverability?
And maybe simulate jams (rarely). You brought up a good point, I'm trying to think how you'd do it, but maybe just like real life you'd simply have some weapons that are better lol and oh you could simply reward less points/XP per kill based on how many people use a given weapon. Incentivizing trying something more challenging. idk : p

M16A4 and AN-94 are my favourite assault rifles at the moment, I just find that once you nail the timing of the bursts you're able to make your firing pretty much a laser beam even at long ranges when taking out snipers.

I personally swear by the SCAR H. Great DPS and very accurate as long as you can tame the recoil. I just run it with an RDS and Stubby or Ergo grip.

I can't bare to use the medic do to the fact that I run out of ammo so fast and no one really plays support:/ that leaves me always playing support becuase I purely need ammo. this goes for all other classes as well:/

Hadn't played in about two years. Got back into it last week and the L85A2 is without a doubt a beast weapon now. When I unlocked it 2 years ago I thought it was average. Now? Pure death dealer at any range. Gets double and triple feeds too. Bulldog too for its insane TTK.

+Tris The bulldog's rpm is too high for its small magazine. Its a one kill get killed weapon. Because the mag reload is worse than average.

Chris Odar The Scar has a lower RPM. The low to average rpm and the heavy hitting punch of the 7.62 compensate for the SCAR's small mag. The Bulldog blows all its ammo in one second with that high rpm.

It bogles my mind to think that there are lots of players that only play the assault class, with the AEK-971 on lockers. Literarily thousands of hours, hundreds of assault service stars and like 90000+ AEK kills and 10000+ G18 kills. No variety at all just the same class, primary and secondary guns over and over and over.

Ak-12 for stability, m16a4 for longer engagements(although it really shines at all ranges) aek for close encounters, and scar h or bulldog for hardcore.

The fact that you see so many people using so many different guns in bf4 shows they really did a good job post launch of balancing guns. whereas in bf3 it was only m16s and AEKs

I have got 1.5k kills it, everyone complains, reload is easy to mange and if you have a decent secondary you can manage the situations when your reloading and the small mag, as well it has a higher dps than the famas
+James Blake The famas actually has higher DPS. And the bulldog has a lot of recoil, it has the highest spread increase out of all the ARs making it very inaccurate and it has a long reload, it's a difficult gun to use all around.

i follow Levelcap rule for a longtime in BF serie and in other games it says : "if a gun is good in one domain, make it better in that domain ! never try to make a high RoF-high spray a sniper rifle"

Hey LC, love your videos!!! Could you make a best LMG of 2016 perhaps ? For me, its the AWS for close range, the QBB-95-1 for being the most versatile, and the MG4 and m60-E4 for range, depending on your play style with moving vs still targets. What are your thoughts !!! :)
I have the same setup on the M416, Aek and the Ace 23, seem to work really good for me(stubby grip + kobra/coyote).
L85A2 is usually my weapon of choice even when the game first released, I never used it because of how good or bad it is though, I used it because it's British made and looks really good.
Also something to consider if you're a console player, AEK-971's recoil is harder to control. Sometimes the Best weapon on PC isn't necessarily always the best weapon on consoles.

If it’s a one on one encounter, you only need to fire 1 to 2 burst, so if you train enough where you won’t jam the second burst, except when panicking, then the m16 and m4 are fantastic weapons. You lose panic power for potentially better dps, the burst is higher than 800 rpm darthveda made a vid about that, and literally the best AR reload in the game. Its great at medium range and it’s serviceable at close range. I personally like it over the an94 because of the faster reload and that I think it’s easier to jam the an 94.
M16A4 is my favorite still. The burst fire is very good on medium to long range, but also when you get used to it, you time the burst and you usually win every close quarter encounter.
LevelCap, thanks for revisiting this topic. I have watched alot of your reviews on bf4 guns and what loadout works best for you. Since all of the changes the attachments are very confusing. For example, I unlocked the ergo grip for my AEK last night and I'm not sure if I would be better not using it. I have heard you say some attachments can make a gun perform worse.

Hey levelcap one thing to keep in mind weapons with lower damage and recoil have less drop off compared to other weapons so their still valid at certain ranges where you can outgun someone using the p90 while your using the aug and even at the start of the video you used the term "in certain scenarios" or something like that

For long range, hell yea. But you'll struggle in cqb with a 600 fire rate gun, that's for sure.
After a long time with the SAR 21 I now switched to the F2000. On HC TDM the first three shots are pretty acurate if you tap-fire. :)
I've been using the M16A4 for so long that I really can't do as well using any other rifle.
Why no love for the SAR?
I know it's amazingly accurate and kills quickly is used at optimal longer ranges.
