Please keep the flying in your videos. This is no longer merely a tree work tutorial channel. This has become an amazing vlog about life: its challenges, and how we overcome them; its joys, and how we create them.
Finally! After so many years of watching August's videos I got proof that he IS a human! I have never seen him have any problems that us, the common mortals, have like getting the saw stuck, or the "nests". This vid really made my day. August now I hate you a little bit less for your flawless work. 😄
Good Morning August, I got a kick out of the Peacock that kept crowing back at your noises. I used to live across the road from a farm that had them. Every time I made a loud noise, they answered. Shutting the truck door would get a harrar harrar rar rar... from them.
You could have shown more of that flying , it was nice. The tree work was on point also. The view from up in the tree was good but you do have to earn it. The time lapse of Jeff and Adam chewing the tree up , shows what machines they are.
Just go up a tree, shred it , go home, then fly a plane. Looks like you had a good day! I didn't know I was watching a tree channel. I thought it was about this guy August Hunicke. You do you! This Community is glad you allow us to come along sometimes. Cheers. That was an awesome view of the shore thank you for sharing.
I totally agree....I've always watched this channel cuz of the GUY who's creating it and all his thoughts on whatever was on his mind at the job on that day. August is always why I come back. No one does August better than August doing August!😉 I too feel I'm apart of this Community who really appreciate all the creativeness August wants to share with those of us he knows loves being here with him.
Flying in the tree's with the aid of your rigging, and rope's, or flying in the sky with the aid of the plane ! It's all the same to me, I love it all ! Thank you August for sharing both !
I'm so glad it's not just a regional thing, calling the falling limb stubs "The Plinko" lol. I had no idea if anyone other than us southerners called it that lol. I've done a lot of storm work in the west and north but never heard anyone else refer to it as such. Thanks for putting that to rest for me August! 😂
Keep the tree work. We love the tree work but keep the flying because we love you. It’s all part of who you are. Thank you for all the amazing content.
I found myself rooting for you every time. I was hoping you could knock the birds nest out with each try. It was satisfying that you kept trying until you got it cleared out. Thanks August for sharing
Nice. I love my battery saw. I got the telescopic pole saw and the weedeater that use the same batteries. Both r awsome. Hows the back. Keep up on the vitamin c. As long as you keep a steady dose going in it will keep working. 6 plus years for me. Saved my life....literally
August you and a few other you tube channels made it possible for me to put me and my wife through collage tree climbing. Im still climbing, and have been trying to start flight school for the last year but got held up on the medical because I took aderall in high school for adhd, turns out I just needed to climb trees. I just took a test though am waiting to hear back from the FAA. Thank you for your videos. They helped me keep food on the table. God is good!
Very good! Maybe you should take a couple pine limbs with you when you fly. If anything happens and you have to bail out, they will for sure hang up on something on the way down. That was the the joke about our chokers when we would fly back from logging in southeast Alaska.
i just really enjoy your video ography if that's even a word (it might be just my dyslexic brain cant even begin to spell it ) , the tree work never gets boring but the added bonus of the flight is super cool , what a view on your flight from the densely populated coast line to unspoilt natural beauty and then that range of i don't know if you would call it mountains or hills the totally un inhabited just as its been for a long long time , take care August and crew
This one took me back to when I was still working and driving an hour after work to the airport to fly for two hours and then drive home. I was a lot younger then. I’m glad I did it when I could. Memories of the old days are a great comfort to me now. N.E.OH Bob
I really enjoyed your talking and aiming for the mess that was hung up. I've a load of respect for you and your work. The plane video was breath taking. Thanks!
Man, I love your style. How you edit all your cuts down to just the deceleration sound, so cool, like record scratching was back in the 90's. And I simply love the piano music during the flight scenes. So classy, so relaxed. You ever get tired of the praise? Nah, screw them rhetorical questions. You are pretty damn cool, Hunicke.
I need to drive home but these videos are so addictive. I been climbing trees here in East coast aus for just less then a year, these are very helpful 👍
Enjoyed every minute. You seemed to be in a very good mood and you made me laugh with your near miss attempts to knock out the nest. Persistence paid off.
My wife was watching this with me, you had us laughing shooting for those hangers 😂😂 My wife said you need to wrap a Christmas present 🎁 so you could square tie that battery😊 she wraps things so beautifully for me to pull up but when I let it down it’s one wrap, less than what you had, apparently I need to start wrapping gifts also!! Fun video 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻
The view from the top of the tree was great but, the views from the plane were phenomenal! 😃👍 You are 100% spot on about the pitch(we deal with that here with our White pines), Rope Runners are pretty much useless on those jobs. I had a good chuckle watching you work so hard knocking that birds nest out of the tree. 😁 Thanks for sharing some of your day with us August. You and the MonkeyBeaver crew keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤️🌲 Randy
It's kinda funny how exciting it is to see a new August video pop up 😀 It's like YAY I get to hang out with a good friend for 47 minutes !! Kind of odd maybe but oh well !! 3200 views so far and betting about everyone of us were rooting for each limb or the big "hammers" to knock that nest out 🤣 Great video of both the work and the flyin !! Beautiful scenery flyin to the coast but also some pretty hostile terrain for an engine out lol, Thank you very much !!!!
I went up in a small plane in the early 1960s. It was amazing, I felt like I was hanging from a string in mid air. It was like trying to eat just one potato chip, I wanted more! I flew to Amsterdam three times in the late 1980s, but it wasn’t the same feeling in a large plane. As this video is almost two years old, I hope you’re still flying and doing it solo!
Ahahahahaha you got me dying over here! “That guy ain’t playing with a full battery!” That guy got to many birds on his antenna! That was from a movie years ago and I can never remember which one. It was just one of those night watching a movie with my sister and my parents and that part came up. We were dying!
Can't wait for the full transition to Monkey-Beaver-Eagle. It's only about 3 miles to the Pacific Ocean from Zamperini Field where I learned to fly. The designated practice area is off the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Heading back in was over the port of Los Angeles. The view is always more appreciated from the left seat. Thanks for sharing the video. Stay safe at whatever pace is comfortable.
First time I have watched 1 of your videos in a while. Last time I was watching you were just experimenting with the electric saw. Now it seems like it's a go to tool.
It's cool seeing stuff from your airplane videos. I'm semi familiar with that area as I am down there twice a week for work. Hearing you talk about some of the land marks you use reminds me of when I flew to Phoenix in February and noticed a town from the air that I had driven through. I hope to see you down there one of these days. Keep up the great work and awesome videos.
And at first when you were dropping limbs, you can hear a chicken or something every time haha I thought it was one of the guys fake yelling down below because branches were flying all over 🤣
Dude this was a GREAT video! I was rooting for you the whole time! My anxiety was surfing on this one. This was a great example of exactly something I would do. That whole tree would've ended up being a magazine in which round after round would've been put downrange to accomplish the goal of breaking that bundle lose! I love all of your videos August and don't watch as many as I probably should, but this one I really enjoyed. Thank you. Also, I'm still going strong with my monkey beaver harness, it's getting daily usage all the way down here in Orlando Florida. I have your sticker on the back of my truck advertising for ya every day. I'm also trying to convince my boss to pick up a monkey beaver deluxe speedline kit because we could for sure use it. I don't think he truly understands how handy that would be. Anyways, you'll probably never see this comment but much love and respect from the sunshine state!
Every time you let somethin go that could crush life, the flippin peacocks go off and it sounds like you've decimated and entire playground full of children with an old growth tree 🤣
My first view of this site ugh, want more !!!! First i got dizzzy which was kinda real , then the view got me , so no your camera work was great now the rope stuff, omg well, back to watching. Used to watch huge draft horses pull trees out of the forest in Wash. state.
SO too bad you CANNOT be one of "US" and get to enjoy all you Show us, Teach us, Share with us. You and the GREAT CREW get to do all the work. THEN, you take us UP, UP & AWAY - ever so FREE! Thank you "AUGUST" and "COMPANY"!!!
Enjoy the flying August - as with going to the top of a tall tree and coming back alive, pre-flight planning is what will bring you back from the flight as well (Like you, I do both) Hope you had a great flight. Once you start Night Flying there are 2 experiences you MUST do 1) between 3500 - 5500 AGL, on a night with no moon - turn off all the lights ( well, not ALL the lights) and just marvel at the feel that you are on a flying carpet 2) Same as above but on a full moon 3) would be the same as both above but someplace where you get snow on the ground - and go up right after a fresh snow fall - where I used to fly I just had to wait for the seasons to change for all of the above.
You should do a August “Hunicke Flying” channel this way all of us that watch you will get it. Probably most will watch because people like you. Good luck!
Are thoughs 🦚 peacocks I hear in the background? What a mess of limbs. It's always cool when the clog goes down the drain. That was awesome. 🎶 Plink o, Plink o. Its a fun game to play. Plink o Plink o I took out your window have a nice day.🎶🤣🤣
I like the airplane part also. My Dad was a Navy pilot and flight instructor but I never got to try any of that. It's still interesting. I really like the story he told me about flying to Muscle Shoals Alabama with a Doctor friend who was learning to fly and he had to take over the controls when the doctor got confused and tried to land on the golf course there.
August ya really worked 💪 hard on that tree . I know brilliant deduction. Well it looked darn tuff . That little duddle Bug ya Handel the cut up tree with looks like it is worth its weight in gold . Great job guys . Love wins , be safe .
At first I thought the peacocks howling was the ground guys hootin and hollering and having a grand old time then realized it was just the birds HAHAHA
only a few minutes into this one and holy cow, seem like they sneaked a shot of espresso in your coffee...and the roosters calls...what a combo...that said, love you guys!
As a retired aircraft mechanic, I for one appreciate that you are expanding your boundaries while running a complex dangerous business. Good on ya! Two questions, how high was the top of that tree, approximately, and was the bird’s nest actually a target for distraction and accuracy testing? I know, high, really high and kinda.

(his favorite reel) How else do you learn not to do it. haha Thank you for the video. Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. Liked the ending - nothing like flying.

Indeed.....I completely agree!
It was always an amazing vlog about life? The flying is neither here nor there as far as that’s concerned.
Love the flying!
@@justinrandall8907 yes, I agree. Good point

Just needed a David Attenborough voice over discussing the unique nesting habits of the PNW Hunicke
The nest commentary was cracking me up not that you got it stuck but the play by play an trying to keep Jeff happy 🤣🤣👊 great vid

Mr. Santiago did a great job. This ring in ring is beautiful and seems just right for the trees you are dooing typically.
Flying in the tree's with the aid of your rigging, and rope's, or flying in the sky with the aid of the plane ! It's all the same to me, I love it all ! Thank you August for sharing both !
You know it is a good Friday when you can sip your coffe and watch the newest August H. content before work, we are so lucky, thank you August!

My son soloed at 16, keep the flying videos coming. Today at 21 he got his complex and high performance done.
Just love it! A perfect blend of risky pleasures. High up in the wind braving gravity. Fly safe friend. This is what dreams are made of. Mel

I actually really enjoy the videos that end in flight. It’s refreshing

Once you start Night Flying there are 2 experiences you MUST do
1) between 3500 - 5500 AGL, on a night with no moon - turn off all the lights ( well, not ALL the lights) and just marvel at the feel that you are on a flying carpet
2) Same as above but on a full moon

I love slow motion fells!!
I got to work with a climber two days ago unpaid doing hurricane cuts on palm trees. It was awesome !!
Thanks for everything you do. I have learned a lot from watching your stuff.
You are so welcome
As a retired aircraft mechanic, I for one appreciate that you are expanding your boundaries while running a complex dangerous business. Good on ya! Two questions, how high was the top of that tree, approximately, and was the bird’s nest actually a target for distraction and accuracy testing? I know, high, really high and kinda.
That guy didn’t start with a full battery. Haha that was great content !
Cool vid dude!!!
I like to watch both.
Nothing like a rats nest .. you have branches. I have the old open reel fishing type. Dad use to get so mad at me for doing that. (his favorite reel) How else do you learn not to do it. haha Thank you for the video. Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. Liked the ending - nothing like flying.
Thanks August!

Thanks!
You were very funny doing that tree job
This is YOUR story, tell it the way YOU want it to be. Complainers can leave at any time
What’s up August 💪💪🤙🤙🤙🌲🌲🌲have a good!!!!! Weekend my bro and team🎉🤩❤️nice😊
I think muscle memory is the word you were looking for
“ there it is how do you like it “ 🤣🤣
I have to say if my boss showed up and could see me trying to smash hangers out with more branches there would be a lot of shouting.
2nd or 3rd time watching....LOVE YOUR BEARD
Just to let you know, the lashes battery they make lasts twice as long. It's a little heavier, but very worth it in my opinion. I will reply to this comment from one of my other accounts with the part number once i get to work...
What are the lashes battery?
Lol. Oops. I meant larger
It's the BLi300
dude this is sick
A shame that magnificent old tree suffered so much damage it needed to be removed. A titan was toppled, but at least it was done by experts.
You talk, we listen!
I got my ticket in 1985 , there's nothing like flying keep it up ,I fly c-152 , 172 , piper archer , and warrior. And as a kid then , it started in trees .
We like "alot". Thanks.
Thanks August, Smooth Big wood
OK so I just watched a video you did on May 7,2022 and you cut it perfectly... Cutting from the ground up on a complete take down is the best way to remove that pine tree. Now I know that you can cut properly, but why do did June 3rd tree ass backwards.. I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but I hope that you can see where I'm coming from. I have cut hundreds of large white pines, (here in New Hampshire ) . June 3rd removal made you look like a total rooky. Again, you are a very good climber, so screw the videos and put your safety ahead of everything else. Please know that I have a lot of respect for your tree work abilities.
