Glad you were able to bag this peak! My favorite one thus far! I had a similar experience with Brown’s. I attempted this as my first ‘real’ hike back in 2012 but got sketched out in the chute and turned around. Finally made it back out there last year to seek redemption! It’s a beautiful feeling and those views at the top make it so worth it.
I’ve been doing a little rock climbing since my first attempt and it helped a ton. Having solid hand holds all the way up made me feel pretty secure, even when the footing was a little loose! Trying to follow Jerry’s lead and get up weaver’s at some point!
@@MoonJuiceHikes I want to climb Weavers as well. A couple of my friends climbed it a while back but I still regret not going with. It’s mainly getting around that chock stone that psychs me out.
Nice👍 Browns peak is no joke. The full Four peaks traverse is the hardest hike I know in AZ. I've done it successfully 5 times. A buddy and I are going to do it in couple weeks.
@@MoonJuiceHikes There's no map. It's definitely a "choose your own adventure" situation. The more direct your route the more you have to deal with the cliffs and climbing. My preference is to work my way south from Browns peak. Some people like to start at Amethyst peak and go north. I'm planning to use a helmet cam to capture some of the transitions from peak to peak. Wish me luck😅👍
Ahhh, I figured that was the case. Less direct = less likely to die. Got it, sounds like the long way around for me too. Send me that video when you're done, would love to follow your route someday!
Sooooper sketchy. I carry the Garmin InReach when I’m solo… at least I know I will get rescued (as long as I’m conscious). That makes me feel a little better about these riskier trails.
if i meet a rattlesnake that refuses to rattle i write him a ticket and start poking him with a stick until hes REAlly mad and starts to rattle. maybe im saving someones life in the future. your teaching him manners.
Hi MoonJuice! Congratulations on redeeming yourself - you even made the ascent look easy. I detest hike fails, and a fail bugs me until, I too, redeem myself.
Great video. And as a fellow AZ Hiker and UA-camr, I have questions for you. 1) what did you film with? 2) what do use to edit and 3) because you now added music to it, can you no longer monetize it?
I have the Hero 8 & the Hero 11 (used them both on this video). I use an inexpensive software called Wondershare for editing. My little channel isn't monetized, so I'm not sure how that works for those trying to make a little money. I put music in all my videos, but I've learned that you have to use non-copyrighted material. The software has free music to use, and I like using instrumental covers of some of my favorite songs.
@@MoonJuiceHikes thanks. Yeah, I’m real amateur, and I DO hope to make money on it someday, when I get to 1000 subscribers. So I Don’t think I can add music. But I can add cool graphics with Wondershare, so I’ll look into that.
@@davidhulka good luck man. I’ve hiked with Jerry Arizona a few times, he’s got 25k subscribers and puts out really good videos every week. Says he makes about $500/mo off UA-cam… but spends more than $1000/mo traveling to hiking destinations worthy of a video. Crazy, eh?
Someone posted this in April this year. Taking the back way up El Oso Rd is doable in low clearance vehicles! The other road to get to the trailhead requires a very high clearance vehicle.
Nice work MoonJuice! Thanks for taking us with you. Great to see Four Peaks again, that place is amazing.
Hey Bjorn, glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane!
Congrats! Even sketchier heading back down imo.
No doubt! Definitely prefer climbing… especially with all the loose rock

Dude. I’d love to hit all 4 sometime! Is there a map to follow?

@@MoonJuiceHikes You got it👍
That snake looked big! Scary how he did rattle to let you know he is close by.
Right?!?!? I was zoomed in, but still, he wouldn’t get off the trail! When he did, he just slowly coiled up… no rattle. Chunky sucker.
I'm still on the fence with this one. I've been wanting to hike it but not alone on my first trip.

Lol! That guy couldn’t have cared less that I was walking by…first black rattlesnake I’ve seen. Healthy sucker.
@@MoonJuiceHikes The ONLY black rattlesnake I've seen was on Brown peak.
@@MoonJuiceHikes never seen one before

Thanks PW… no way I was gonna let this go unfinished that’s for sure!
Nice...😁
Is this recently? I've been waiting for the snow to melt to go here. I don't know where to check it. I might hike this soon before it gets really hot.
This was Sunday 😁
Thank you, Moonjuice! Loved the video ♥️ Great job on summiting. Hopefully, I do, too!

Nice job. This one is on my hit list, way to go man! How many miles in is that drive on the dirt road and what type of vehicle needed?

Check the description, I give some info on the roads in. You don’t need 4WD if you approach from 188. I think a regular sedan can make it, no problem.
