Thanks for this playthrough! You stumble and move slowly... so I don't have too! That is an awesome thing. I really appreciate all you guys do!

it's almost sad no one on the stream so far at least 40 mins in roughly pointed out that you might wanted to read exactly what it says when you roll a hex on the gear, in addition to the powerup card, it looks like you missed out on a workshop supply.

31:00 no forging if you can't wield them.
44:00 gear upgrade is by definition marking an upgrade on the gear. so you cross it off.
52:00 elven rations is not an item. you must immediately translate it to food!
1:00:00 no - you roll and fail, you don't get to make up for the difference by paying afterward. You gain nothing.
1:06:00 explain to me how 6 surrounding hexes can all be blocked by the maximum 4 sentinel tokens in the game.
1:10:00 GROUP rewards are marked on the GROUP card aka the battle mat.
1:20:00 only one hero may attempt one harvest. Another may at the same time for 1 energy.
    you just rolled illegally.
1:32:00 no the +5 is not cumulative. It doesn't work like that.

Wow... only 20 minutes in, and watching you guys try to figure out the powers of your classes, is super painful. No ding on you, but man I am seriously reconsidering my attempt to get my wife and friends to play this.

The poor instructions severely really hamper this game. 2 hours into this video these players are 5 turns in. Too many turns include a ridiculous scramble for trying to understand each nuance to a series of minor portions of the turn that are scattered across a less than thorough series of index cards bound together and called a rule book and giant placards that repeat largely the same information but then have little areas of fine print-like additions that differ and provide a candles worth of illumination or clue to what you are trying to figure out. Once in a while a series of turns will be straight forward and flow and 3 turns will go by in less than 2 minutes and in those moments the game is really fun. But those moments are smothered in the slog of, "wait, that little symbol there means something where is it in the rules" and "Hold on, even though we just did this, it's not like last time because this nuance changes things, where do the rules explain that feature."

Yeah, Hexplore It is my favorite game of all time and at the same time my least favorite game of all time. The idea of a huge sandbox with quests and monsters and cities and outposts and tons of character classes and races is amazing! Being able to build a party and set up a goal and over a day have a years worth of D&D campaign is so much fun. And the quality of the components is so good!
However, the execution of the minute by minute gameplay can truly be terrible. Combat is such a slog of math and not really fun at all. On top of that all the statuses have you constantly referring to some rule or placard to make sure you're doing it right. Also, the rules just don't work well together. The game really could have benefitted from a more simple combat system. I appreciate what the team is trying to do with this game, but good god forget trying to play any sort of streamline game. My most fun times with this game have always been really just throwing the rulebook away and just going with what makes sense to me regardless of whether its correct RAW.
