Buckle Up is a channel that is only interested in one thing - cars!
We upload a myriad of different content including car review videos, car challenge videos, car news videos and much, much more!
Our videos are made in a similar style to that of Top Gear, Fifth Gear, Car Throttle, Doug DeMuro, carwow, Carfection, The Grand Tour, MotorTrend and many more.
We would all thoroughly recommend their channels, so why not go and check them out.
I've had a 1.4 Kia Rio for the last 12 yrs no problems in 80 odd thousand
miles, after looking round for a couple of months checking out different
makes my wife spotted an Xceed 1.4 turbo First Edition just over 3 yrs
old 23 thousand miles and after a test drive and a bit of mulling we bought
it. It has enough get up and go ''0 to 60 in 9 secs'' I believe, purely academic
to me as I'm in my 70s my 40 year old son says he will tell me when to stop
driving be for I become a danger on the roads.
Compared to the Rio overtaking is effortless it's very comfortable and being
a first edition has everything in it and it still has 3 and a half years of warranty
really good around town and a really nice cruiser, it's doing mid to late 30mpg
round the houses and given even a hint of a decent run and it's mid to late 40s
and I don't hang about according to my wife. I did compare it with a couple
of Fords Puma, Focus, Mazda 3, Honda. No contest the Fords may steer better
but the noise of the engine and the vibration in the Puma, no thanks. The Mazda
and Honda were a bit too low ( we're both 70 odd ) the Xceed just right, you may
have noticed they have 4cyl engines ( except the Fords ) which is a prerequisite
for me, gave the 3cyl jobs a try but no, vibrations and not very nice noise, it's
becoming more difficult to find 4cyl cars at a reasonable price, I'd prefer a 6cyl
if I could afford it and for those who say a 3cyl sounds like a 6 no it sounds like
a 4 with a misfire , a 3cyl two stroke ( Saab 90 series ) sounds like a 6.
Sounds like you're enjoying it, may you have many more happy years of motoring (and maybe pick up a cheeky banger beemer to get those 6 pot thrills)
Good review! I just ordered one myself. Great value for money.
Hope you enjoy it!
Really good review, thank you. Thinking about ordering one and this really helped
Thank you for watching and super glad you found it useful!
Wish you well, very engagingly informative information. Straight forward.
Thank you! Hope it was useful ☺️
Great looking car, brilliant warranty. Nice review.
It is good looking, and Kia's 7 year warranty as standard is excellent! (Toyota will do 10 years but you have to service the car with them to extend it past the default length). Thanks for watching! 😁
Your Grammar is excellent..i had no problems with understanding you.. and im in north Lincolnshire England.
Glad to hear it was clear!
We have an identical one, GT line S. Best specced car i have ever driven for the price..... More spec and better trimmed than many cars at 50% more.
What did you drive before you got this?
@@BuckleUpShow late model astra, nice car, decent spec, but not a patch on the xceed..
Absolutely - you get a lot more for your money with the XCeed
Really well researched, great review. Does it have a mild hybrid option?
Unfortunately no, the only engine options currently offered in the XCeed are this 1.5 T-Gdi and a 1.6 non-turbo PHEV plug-in hybrid. Thanks for the feedback and we're glad you enjoyed!
The 1.5 T-Gdi IS MILD Hybrid 160 cv. I own it.
The spec sheet that Kia provided me for this car begs to differ
@@BuckleUpShow I can't upload the vehicle registration certificate of my car, i can assure you that the 1.5 T-GDI for 160 CV/HP is Mild Hybrid, at least in Italy.
In the UK, this powertrain is pure petrol only: www.whatcar.com/kia/xceed/hatchback/15t-gdi-isg-gt-line-5dr/101265#specification
Picking mine up tomorrow. GT line, not S. Debatable on choice, but can't be beaten on price.
Excellent choice! Hope you enjoy it 😊
Green is an awesome colour for the Kia XCeed.
It is a very nice metallic green
Are there any noticeable differences between the 1.4 and 1.5 gdi engine? Since I am looking to buy the pre-facelift edition and they are offered with both variants.
We didn't test the previous version so unfortunately we cannot say
But. Hmmm. Could I suggest. Going to the. I A M. For instructions on steering wheel control?
Thank you for your concern.
And you know that in 1973. A Ford Cortina gti had only 105 bhp. Hmmmm. How times change.
Indeed, technology has come on leaps and bounds since the 70s
A great Presentation. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, we hope it was useful!
Great review. Love the colour.
Thank you! This green is great, it really pops! 😁
I was ready to buy but when i seat i feel is big for my size.i am short and i was looking the capin.i go with kia stonk.
We have reviewed the Stonk: ua-cam.com/video/LzJdvS9tWtU/v-deo.htmlsi=P7lPgqAODdVOEDi8
Nice review
Nice comment
Did I miss the T-Roc ?
The XCeed drives much more like a conventional car - it is a jacked up hatchback as opposed to the T-Roc, which is a "proper" crossover.
Does anyone else get 25mpg every day driving & 44mpg motorway? Manual gt line s
You’re probably better asking an owners group
Im currently hiring one while my car is off the road. Its on a 72 plate. It is quite a nice ride but im not used to button style handbrakes and find it difficult on hillstarts. I feel like im rolling back into the car behind because they get so close. Having to put your foot on the brake while putting handbrake on and off feels weird and im not thinking its a good car for me to buy. Does anyone else have this problem or do i need to practice.
We prefer a real handbrake too, are you dead set on this size of car as there are lots of vehicles still available with them that are a little smaller such as the Suzuki Swift, Kia Stonic or Hyundai Bayon
@@BuckleUpShow I want another cmax or focus maybe. I do support work and have to carry wheelchairs.
It should have hill assist to stop you from rolling back for about 2 seconds
Yes, a firm press of the brake pedal is enough to engage the system and prevent roll-back for a second or two whilst you pull away
Same issues here, but gets easier. Not the torqueist engine, so need to get revs up.
Is he wearing jeggins?
They're actually spray-on 😅
We own one and has a very noisy petrol engine, noisier than a diesel, but the worst item is the interainment it is awful and just does whatever it wants. Don't ask a dealer as they have not got a clue
The engine issue is odd, all Kia petrols we have experienced have been excellent - there may be an underlying problem? As for the infotainment, what phone are you trying to use with it? Some manufacturers have compatibility issues.
I’m still curious jasper 😐
Are you called George?
What’s the verdict
Yes it is better than a T-Roc
Belper!
A local?
What’s the correct age a child should stop being breastfed? 3?
36
@@BuckleUpShowthat’s when you stopped right JASPER?!
It's very sweet that you think only Jasper answers these comments, or that any of us are over the age of 30, have a nice evening
@@BuckleUpShow jasper is a healthy 25 year old boy and I’m directly asking jasper the questions so really your just rude pookie 🙈
Slow day at work?
rented one for a couple of days, a six speed manual, GT Line and it was the worst manual gearbox/clutch combination that I've driven in all my life...too long clutch travel, and very long gear throws, and imprecise at that. Never, ever again...looks can be deceiving...
Maybe consider that because it was a rental it might have had a hard life, either that or you've only driven very good manual cars cause there ain't nothing wrong with this box
@@BuckleUpShowSame here, i test drove one recently and it had a beautiful gearbox. Equal to if not better than my Golf.
Hyundai and Kia cars routinely have excellent gear boxes
Hi Jasper. Who would want this vehicle? It's already out of date and pointless as it's only an ICE vehicle. It's still polluting our environment no matter what it looks like. If you were reporting on a new small KIA EV, I would understand. I'm actually a KIA fan but nowadays, only their EVs of course. My opinion.
Hi Lucien, there is still a large market of people who aren't ready to make the transition from ICE to EV. Either their lifestyle makes running and charging an EV very difficult or they're worried about moving on from petrol. Kia still sell this model as part of their current like up so it is not out of date, nor is it pointless as the market for it clearly exists still. I do mention it, but there is a PHEV version of the XCeed available - which is a 1.6 petrol combined with electric motor, and a strong powertrain. We do have some videos of Kia's small EV offerings on the channel, so feel free to check them out!
I understand Lots of old people are buying them as its higher than a normal hatch so easy to get in/out and they don’t want an SUV
Plenty of people would like this vehicle. The infrastructure for EV’s in the UK is nowhere near good enough yet, and they’re miles to expensive to buy from new.
EV’s? Really? Pointless with no infrastructure in the UK.
