I have a disability, not the more obvious physical disability and have been using help services to get out, often early to dream locations on the water. Anyway always been a freak for the fishing game. Things like upgrading the gear I use, like Daiwa Infeet Bream rods. Anyway I’ve got this guy, Andy, a president of a fishing club. What I noticed with him, is, unlike some other workers, he always outfished me, from the start. I’ve been learning knots from him, like the F.G, braid, leader knot, and others. And just the wealth of knowledge he’s prepared to pass onto me, amazing. We already have shared so many memorable fishing moments. Really helping me up my game.
totally agree with the guide. 10 years ago my son n i where at a barra dam. we where struggling to find barra n to understand the down/side imaging(way before live). the guide was driving round n chatting with campers n he came to us n asked hows it going. we told him our struggles n he took us out on the dam(didnt charges us a dime)showed us how to set both sounders(humminbird helix 10s)n took us to the the same spots he has been using in that period n showed us the barra on side n down imaging. we caught barra he showed us the barra coming through on the screens n even predicted the size of the barra on the screens. have to say he was pretty much right every time in predictions. bak at the ramp he went through some more detail on the sounder n chatted bout some other tips, remember all free of charge. he even said to go to those spots tomorrow n put these things into practice, we did n we caught. with that knowledge we went n found our own spots n caught barra. he was pumped for us which was amazing n we shared those couple of spots we found with the him n he did come n tell us bout the success at these spots with his clients.it made the 2 weeks for us.
Excellent video again John, heaps of great information. Being someone who's never been financially backed to get any of the sounders/ livescopes, I've had to pay attention and learn by myself what the environment around me is telling me and I trust that full heartedly. Congrats on doing this for 10yrs really sho2s your passion for it and love the content over that time. Can't wait to put your jack burners through they're paces in summer. Tight lines mate and well done again
Absolutely agree re: fishing with guides. The value (if you pay attention) is immense - whether it is a guide in a holiday destination or just someone who works your local waters. I've had some duds, sure, but by far that's the minority. (And nobody who has been recommended with a good rep in the industry has been a dud, TBF) I've lucked out and ended up fishing with some retired guides on the regular. When the fishing is tough with these types, the learning is better.
White bait is so popular it doesn't seem to make it to Townsville. Equally popular here. I here there is a purple colour in the Redic. A Mackay fisherman uses it to great success.🤠🎣👍
