I am 81 years of age and now live alone but am not prepared to pay for a service no longer required. Why on earth should anybody be expected to buy a licence to watch any 'live' programmes when for example ITV and Freeview are financed by advertising? I certainly would not watch any BBC programmes because they would not be of any interest to me Any particular sports broadcasts I can join friends in a local sports club or pub and enjoy the atmosphere - so problem solved.

The answer is to sell your TV. And buy a computer monitor instead. And then connect that to a computer and then stream all of your TV from there. As long as you're not actually using a TV set that can receive a broadcast signal, then you are not legally required to pay for a TV license.

When HD came out I was at my grandads house and I said "You should get a HD TV grandad, it's a much sharper and clearer picture" He pointed at the screen whilst the news presenter was on and said "I can barely stand the sight of her as it his, can you make it blurrier?" The funny thing was he was actually quite tech savvy, and when he did get a HD TV, he deliberately detuned all the HD channels because he really didn't want to see the news presenter in HD!
The BBC know that to attract advertising, you have to have a large amound of veiwers when they transmit. Their vile woke crap attracts pitiful viewing figures. Plus it would be to much hard on their part to set it up. Arrogance that the money is gifted to them on a silver platter to sqwander and waste as they see fit.

Whenever BBC news has been on in other peoples houses it's always non stories like a kid raised £200 for charity or someone complaining about how raycist and horrible we all are.
