- I am so impressed with how independent Kaidale is now during gymnastics class. He goes and does his thing, while I watch from the waiting area. He listens to his coach, follows her instructions and is crushing it! After gymnastics I treated him to a cracker barrel dinner where we worked on our inside voice. Now I know a lot of you are wondering, as I’ve gotten multiple comments, about him learning to use utensils. Kaidale does not prefer to use utensils and it is a skill that we are working on, so YES we are practicing using utensils, but today’s focus was using an inside voice inside the restaurant.

Hey Kaitlin, as a mom of 4 (they’re grown now) I used to pack small preschool sized back packs or a lunch bag and kept it in my car for each kid. Each backpack contained things like crayons, color books, hot wheels, pencils, etc. and it was a life saver at restaurants, appointments, or any place I needed my kids to somewhat contain their energy for the sake of others around me.
I kno this is a old vlog but fun 2 watch. I have 2 say I was shocked when you asked your handsome boy if he wanted soda or tea! I was like whoa, why would you wanna let him have drinks with caffeine, its jus adding fuel 2 the fire really. I just didn't expect that from you cuz there are so many better choices. Hopefully ya'll have grown outta soda 4 sure & I enjoy tea myself but 4 Kaidale I wouldn't want the caffeine!!

Oh my God.. Kaidale is just excelling at his gymnastics. Respect for his teacher.. she seems so professional but responsive too. Just the right balance for our budding gymnast. I also loved how you held hands while walking into the restaurant. Since many of autism's issues stem from relational disconnect, a physical bonding often results in more emotional bonding.. if a child rejects physical affection, probably just a light touch on the shoulder.. anything to keep the child's attention and awareness on you and the connection on.. if you know what I mean. And the way he was arranging his toys so meticulously. Just wait, he will be cleaning up his room and putting things in order, given the right trigger. This is from personal experience. Kaitlin, you are doing everything so right and it reflects in how Kaidale is developing.The inside, outside voice concept. That was brilliant. He will start getting it. You are becoming quite an expert mum and appear so much more in control now.

You had a busy day and I think he was just done by the time it was bedtime. I saw he was frustrated when his people kept falling down. He was playing really good though. Yes I always had little fidget things in a special place in the car to keep busy when we went out to eat or other places we had to wait.
I think your right, he just got sleepy and those toys were frustrating him

so my son is not fully diagnosed he is consider high risk in the autism spectram he is 2 years old and there is days that are just rough and he cries and i hug him and just cry silently while im hugging him 🥺 its ok right? this is all just new to me and the waiting game to get a full diagnoses is a no no for me
