Don’t get me wrong, Southgate is a terrible manager and it’s a joke that the FA have not done anything, they are aware that the majority of us fans don’t even care about the results as it’s just horrible to watch. The FA know this but because Southgate gets behind the woke agenda, they love him. Their main priority is they need a yes man and that’s what Southgate is.

When they come out and say the opposite, whether they are forced to by the FA or not, it reflects badly on their personal brand and the team - it's not "media training" it's simply lying to the people who pay your wages. Ireland fan here. I have to say that Southgate is the talk of the town here. It is hard to believe that he is the England manager. If we only had a whiff of the talent in that England squad, we would be in that tournament and doing ok. In those teams the ball moves fast. Now they play slow ball, defence first tactics and are just hoping they'll get an individual spark from someone.

I think these players should ponder all the sacrifices the travelling fans make and put themselves in their shoes. £2k is a lot of money, but a sum most England players view as back pocket change. That’s part of the problem.
