This video was actually genuinely hard to make, and took like a billion attempts and variants. I really wasn't sure what to say in this video, beyond, "hey, look at this data! use if it you wish!". Like in theory I could do a contour plot of the probability vs some subset of [Pools, Skills, Slots] but that wouldn't've actually given any useful information. I initially planned for a review of the code, but that was just clunky and felt like it was stretching out the time. bottom line, i'm really proud of these results, but yeah this video is really short, so if you have any feedback or anything you'd want me to talk about more, let me know
oh and gratz to raymoclaus for the insane augment that he got and i used in the thumbnail. check out his channel i guess if you wanna gamedev: ua-cam.com/users/Raymoclaus
So what you're saying is, instead of slaving away at the RNG grind like everyone else, you mathematically determined how much time, on average, we are wasting on trying to get that 2-slot chain crit.
Thank you for your work, is very interesting to know in exact numbers all this data. I’m probably using this and of course giving you all the credits. Awesome job.
Yeah, if i get a skill like crit boost or wex in a rarity 10 armor i'm happy. I did get chain crit and a slot upgrade from 1 to 2 on Kaiser helm, that was indeed very sweet.
How does it determine Defence and Resistance + and -? Can you receive multiple +s or a + and a -? I got -16 on an armor piece in pool 2 and am trying to figure out how it got that number.
Wow, absolutely insane!! By "normal" probability rules, the chances of getting the same skill twice is basically the same chance of getting a skill you "want" once. But because of weird things with regards to budget and stuff, it's definitely gonna be a bit lower. A lot lower if there are two specific skills you want. If, before you start, you just straight up go "I want Grinder +2", that's a 1/190 000 chance!
Thanks for the video and effort. I do wonder myself, since they work in tables is it even real RNG where the probability is valid? If my table doesn't contain a 1in1000 (roll/appearance) till 5000 table slot is it even still probability and RNG? Idk what to think really.
If you edit your augments with -3 on windproof so you can put 2 levels of an S tier skill, is It legal? Because it says is legal on the editor, I dont mind being a Cheater as long as its legally "posible"
Honestly, I don’t think so. I might have to double chekck, but you can put up to seven augments on anything, Augments 1, 2, and 7 all have special properties. That only leaves you with 4 slots for “normal” augments, if which you’ll need 5 for the situation you describe. (and if it were possible, the chances of getting it would be something like the chances of being struck by lightning… 5 times…)
Yeah, pretty much. The chances of getting any 2 specific skills you want ends up a bit insane. Like even for the lowest tier-rarity, aiming for to 3-slot skills, you have like a 1/10000 chance. Of course, if you just want 2 skills out of some list of skills... well, then it gets hard to recommend since a) it depends on exactly what skills you're happy with, and b) you enter a region of math called combinatorics, which is very challenging to deal with. (there's a video on this channel about combinatorics in the context of palico/buddy skills and that's less a video and more a fever dream)

Good video 👌
Is there a way to get new rolls?
I rolled twice on my Archfiend Armor Baulo and I got a crit boost roll with -12 defense. I was like well, that's the best I'm getting.
This is a really, really great resource for realistic build creation/advice. Thank you so much for putting all this together!

Appreciated!
Thank you for the video! My takeaway is that getting +2 slots on all my armor pieces is a reasonable endeavor.
Reasonable enough yeah. It only costs 12 but it’s more value on certain armor. The best pieces for +slots will have 1-1-1, 4-1-1 or 3-1-1.
this information is so important, even after they remove the save scum mechanic. thanks again suntide
I love your Theorycrafting Videos, you defenitely deserve more attention i also recommended you in my Videos 🤠🌶️
Aww, thanks so much!! Means a bunch from you!

Hey y'all. What's better, 5% more damage or an additional 5 raw?

Good stuff! I wonder what the chance of rolling the same skill twice is? I got Grinder(S) + 2 on Malzeno Helm today!

The spread sheet values you show in video are totally different than what is on the spreadsheet currently. Did something change?

It -shouuuuld- be fine. The RN system doesn't seem as bad as it was in eg. 3U, and you aren't rolling 1 number here, you're rolling like 50 numbers.

@@dreamingsuntide1 I also have like -120 defence more less, getting fortify strategy😂
Bruh only 1 skill

Too bad qurio crafting isn't truly random and what we get is predetermined.
