@@JavaPROx Hi Java, Yes, many people find Stockholm nice. It’s a very clean and beautiful city, even though I am a bit biased since I live in Stockholm. Anyhow, you’re much welcome to visit our lovely city and my suggestion is to do it during spring or summer. May is the nicest month when everything is blossoming. 🙏
Oh I'm sure! It certainly is a beautiful country with wonderful people. We miss being there. Of all the places we have travelled to so far, we feel particularly nostalgic when looking back at this video and our pictures from Sweden 💙💛 where have you relocated to?
@@briansteph I've been living and working in Southern California for most of my adult life. Normally I try to go home every two years but due to Covid and other unforeseen issues it's been six years since I was there. Hopefully, if all goes as planned, I'll be back next year.
I (Brian) am originally from California! I was raised in northern california, but have family in southern as well. Beautiful weather, but would much rather be in Sweden personally. Hoping you can get back out there soon! 6 years is certainly a long time, i'm sure you miss it a lot. We really enjoyed Stockholm, and also enjoyed our time in southwestern Sweden on the coast. Lot of beautiful areas all throughout the country. We would love to eventually end up in a Scandinavian country. We actually have friends moving back to the stockholm area from NYC, which is part of the reason we were out there for so long...helping out during their home search process. We're a little jealous!
@briansteph Yes,about 3 years ago.The plan is to move to Europe when we retire. It's gonna be a long 15 years or so wait haha. But I can't complain, people are pretty great here too and the winters are short 😊
@@anderswiik7432 that's a great retirement goal. Anywhere in particular you would like to move to in Europe for retirement? And if you don't mind us asking, what led you to leave Stockholm for the United States? One of the reasons we are curious is because we have some friends who are moving back to Stockholm from NYC, and it got us thinking about what moving to Europe could look like for us...maybe even somewhere in Scandinavia (we loved Copenhagen and Stockholm). Would love to know whatever you are willing to share!
@briansteph We're thinking a summer house in Sweden to spend those amazing summers there, then we'll get a condo in Portugal for the winters.I got married to an American woman, and we kinda wanted to be in Sweden but we came to the conclusion it was easier for me to get a job there ,and she has such amazing career in the US which she'd have a hard time finding in Sweden.Bonus fact:We met playing war games on our cellphones 😁😄
Ahh thanks for sharing! Those dang Americans 😅 makes sense about the career. Hoping the future plans work out for you guys! We would love to visit Portugal soon...haven't been yet, but Steph's cousin recently visited Lisbon and loved it. We would love to end up living in Europe one day too...we have talked about Sweden especially since spending almost 1 month there and seeing "every day life" first hand. We love how the work-life balance in european countries is much better...it is easy to get burnt out in the US. Wow, what a story about how you met! Steph was my sister's (Brian) roommate in New York City...that is how we met 😊
Stockholm is one of our favorites as well! Maybe one day we will get to check out Tokyo. Thanks so much for watching our videos and commenting 😊 Greetings from the United States!
@@briansteph I think maybe he means that swedes/europeans usually sit down and drink coffee, not constantly moving with it mounted in hand, like americans. (could be wrong, just my feeling)
@@erik.... that makes sense! Definitely a cultural difference there. We had a little of both on this trip for sure. Coffee on the go when we were sightseeing, and enjoying a cup in a cafe from time to time while taking in the atmosphere. Certainly enjoy the slower pace of life in Europe...it's something we crave, as we don't feel we fit the "go go go" American mold. Europeans as a whole have a significantly better work-life balance.
