  • One of my absolute favorite songs by this choir I love so much: Salvation Is Free written by the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. This song will be 45 years old on July 27. I just want to share this song with all of my viewers. Enjoy!

Dr.Mattie Moss Clark is a true legend of her era, although I'm just getting into (because of me being the young age of 22)Dr.Mattie's music,I feel she was spirit filled woman of Christ,as it exhibited through her children and the whole C.O.G.I.C...

I can recall the emit the exact emotions that I felt listening to this song in our living room, as this album played on our "record player", as we called it then. Our home rang of this wonderful GOSPEL "message" music (unlike much of today's music)

As a child this type was the type of music that I was exposed to by the Bethel Temple COGIC in Memphis. My cousins were all in the choir and on the instruments. I was about 5 years old and I would watch and listen them analyze chords and voice parts. That was my early music training. Music carried me through college. COGIC always presented no nonsense approach to music.

LOL Mine could too. She was the musical director at the church I grew up in. She would sing this while playing the piano or the organ. I sho' miss my mother's singing. :-(
