Hi Jenifer, wonderful playing as usual. I have a question please. I've been learning from the book 'How to play hymns and gospel songs in evangelistic style' by David Carr Glover and Phyllis Gunther, do you know it? It shows you how to convert hymnals into full piano arrangements in the kind of traditional style, from Chorale style to 'evangelistic style' and 'accompaniment style' s they call it. This is a great foundation I think but Id like to take it further into a more modern style. Do you know of any book or books I should read after this to get to this goal? I do have David Carr Glover's book on evangelistic style. I hope to develop my own tutorials but it's slow in coming...in the meantime....have you tried the Hymnproviser series by Shelley Hamilton? It's an EXCELLENT resource for church pianists but let me warn you...it's VERY compact. It's best to digest a little at a time to prevent brain overload. Shelley Hamilton also has companion books with this hymnproviser series.
