Im in the same boat but thats because my experience is ff14 and that is awful. If they do it where everyone can have a house, then it would lose the neighborhood feel that they have in ff14. I am open to be intrigued by housing, but i was negative almost immediately. Hopefull im proved wrong.
Can build a house almost any where and you only see people on our friends list or party. You could also maybe just randomly see 1 or two houses per zone of all the hundreds in the zone.
TDV is not going to work. There are too many variables to be able to account for them all to get down to a single number that will be and to represent performance. All it will do if implemented is change the meta to satisfy whatever variables the TDV values most. It would just change the problem to a different type of the same problem. The shear number of variables you would have to take into account would take all of MIT to be able to figure it out and it would have to change constantly as the game changes. This is just never going to be a worthwhile endeavor. Edit: What if someone else in the dungeon gets you killed? What if you aim the hook correctly but someone then comes up and blocks it? What if your class doesn't have a dispell? What if I'm the only DPS doing the mechanics and that hurts my DPS to do so? What if I move out of the way of the cone in NW but then the target of it moves to me at last second and kills me? What if I'm having to spend time either typing or talking mid dungeon to show others what to do and that means I perform worse? What if your healer never dispels on last boss of NW? What if I use all my defensive and interrupts but I use them at poor times and then they are CD when I actually need them? What if the boss dies after 2 minutes and 45 seconds which is right before my CDs come back so my DPS is lower than if the boss dies at 3 minutes and 30 seconds in? There is a never ending list of variables that you are never going to be able to get represented in a number. It's just not possible. And let's say this concept does take off and people use it, how is this better? You are trading one imperfect system for evaluating performance to another. Just seems like the exact same thing with the exact same problems just under a different name. Waste your time if you would like, but I hope this concept never gains any traction.
Player housing should be a blizzard style of Star Wars: The Old Republic mmo. the player housing is all instanced, and you can buy your house on the planet (or city in wows case) with credits (wow gold). you have to purchase new wings in the house, again with ingame currency to expand the area you can decorate. You earn deco's by achievements/quests/rep. The deco's are just ingame assets already there and they allow us to place them on hooks access through a customization ui. they also have the same version for guild housing, you can buy massive star ships and do guild achievements to get decos. i would love to see crafting be involved also. i would prefer them to stay away from putting any on the store.
There was an interesting comment that tekniq said about "new dungeons are better". I think it is a bit more complicated than that. Part of the difficulty of m+ now is the absurd amounts of casts, mob variety, required knowledge, more and more complex bosses that gets worse(or better depending on outlook) every generation of dungeons. I personally think, for me, that threshold is pretty much there. I cant just chill and do m+. It is a very focused, intense experience and i think that may be the biggest factor, more than the gearing path or difficulty walls, of why i just stopped doing m+ one day and didnt go back
Side note:it should be intense and diffucult and require you to get better. That is the point, but the vibe, pace, and expectations of m+ have changed and for some people its great fun and that level of intensity is awesome, while for others, you do threes and wait for tuesday.
I think one person said put it anywhere and then someone else said that won’t work and I was like it would be cool if it would but I don’t magin they will do it. Also I don’t play any other mmo’s don’t have the time been tied up with wow. This was like a it would be cool if they did housing this way or that. I am just excited they have housing at all and look forward to see how wow does it.
Sorry-- I saw someone comment on this last week. My upload sucks, so I just haven't had the time to let it go, but I promise to get them uploaded and caught up.
Lol y'all are goofs. To me it seems like y'all simply don't play other MMOs that much or at all and it's funny to hear the discussion. Like y'all are twenty years behind. 😂 Think about what would happen for a moment if anyone could place their house anywhere. Go look at archage, swg, and many more they have tried that. It doesn't work, there is only so much real estate in the world so it gets taken up in seconds and then no one else can get a house unless they want to pay whatever the housing cartel wants. Wow is a mass appeal MMO, they will make it so everyone gets a house. So being able to put your house anywhere is just not possible for so so so so many reasons. Enjoying the podcast though, maybe research your topics more if you want to be taken as a more serious podcast. But if you are going for goofy comedy and old/pointless MMO discussions then this is gold.

you CAN'T mesure individual performances in a group environment, what happen when the tank pull one pack at the time with some class dmg, what happen when a hunter pull extra and MD other player, or when the healer heal only his friends and let you die.....those are just a small of tricks ppl in control take advantage of new players or player who doesn't track everything..... need to be measure on personal perspective...and that is a hell of a problem.... or rip of IO, logs entire of the system that is easy and fast.... but you guys don't want that too....well GL WOW have bigger problems then this
I think that's kinda the brilliance of TDV, because it is all relative to the run within itself. And then you can start to compare how a tank does in a single run compared to a tank done in a similar run since the variables should be all the same.

What's the one feature they'd bring in that would get you hooked?

1)player housing should NOT have Trade chat
2)housing should NOT be optimal in anyway for making gold
Like you shouldn't be able to make Garrisons levels of gold
