That last turn was something you'd see in the anime. Kaiba is bragging that he's about to win on his next turn, then Yugi pulling that move to summon Gandora, wiping Kaiba's board. Kaiba then scoffs at Yugi that Gandora is too weak to finish him off only to then hear Yugi activate his gy effects and que Kaiba's surprise Pikachu face

@@TheNaturalGamer1 Konami updated Master Duel to celebrate the 1st year anniversary of the game and part of that update is that when Dark Magician/DM Girl finish off an opponent, an animation of the move Dark Magic Attack plays. Its pretty epic and its only for DM and DM Girl
@Onyx Guardian kind of dissapointing they only gave it to those cards. I understand dm and dmg are kind of the mascots but those decks kind of suck, so nobody's even going to get those animations.
@@spagoongus140 I get that the dm archetype is not the best meta wise but its by no means a bad deck. Its all about deck construction

The early 2000's-2010's was all about a possible come back all the time.
Bro that last duel was how Yu-gi-oh! should be played. That back and forth was was awesome to watch and made the duel feel like there was something on the line. Especially when Joseph said "Yugi really is the King of Games!" Gret duel guys, great duel.

I still enjoy playing modern yugioh today, hell, I’m climbing ladder with chimeras (nightmare apprentice please arrive soon!!), but the barrier of entry for modern yugioh is so hard for new players now. I feel like a more even back and forth like this is much easier for newer players to digest and enjoy.
Since my closest friends don’t live close to me anymore, I’ve been trying to get them into yugioh through Master Duel. Nothing is more demoralizing than trying to get my friends into the game, only for them to be put off from turn 1 end boards with Baronne, I:P, and some archetype boss monster with a negate + little knight for follow up. For someone who’s been playing the game for a long time, I think boards like that create an interesting state where I have to use my resources to break through all of my opponents interactions, but for my friends, it’s a snooze fest and ends up leading to them not wanting to continue the game after getting negated and disallowed to play on their own turn.
Sorry for the yap session. All I mean to say is, I love yugioh, and wish that the barrier to entry was easier. There’s absolutely space for the more complex, modern yugioh, but I do wish the game was more digestible for newer players aside from forcing them to play GOAT or Edison, both of which don’t have dedicated duel rooms for in Master Duel.
@@GlennJDano i completely understand how satisfying it feel to break a board when it seems unbreakable. I feel like yugioh's most glaring problem is how boards can end up being unbreakable unless you have the right cards in your hand. In a game like yugioh RNG should be a factor but when these nigh unbreakable boards are set up if you dont have 3 hand traps and a 1 or 2 card combo, your force to surrender. It makes the game playable but frustrating to un-enjoyable to play.
I do enjoy playing the game but only with friends and i only ever play E-hero/vision hero cards (i roleplay in my head and sometimes out loud as jaden lol). But to me eheros are peak yugioh they are easy to stop but powerful if not.
@@killerkrok55 I absolutely get that man. Modern yugioh really isn’t for everybody, and I wish Konami understood that. Honestly I’d prefer to more consistently play more oldschool yugioh, around 5Ds era! (Edison format my beloved)
That's such an anime moment lmao having your ace monster get the final attack off while it has just enough ATK to do the job is the perfect dramatic finish
Ok that last round was actually beautiful. The way Sam’s eyes glowed with hope when he saw he’d live with 100, and then when they faded when he saw he was about to lose was truly a sight to be seen.
That was one heck of a comeback on the last turn. Definitely an awesome duel!
"Yugi truly is the king of games" is what got me watching this over and over again lol. Truly a Yugi win, board wipe and finish with the Dark Magician. Loved every second of it!

Odds are he could have it in the deck, but never drew it so could never continue the Canon fight to destroy both the special summoned Marshmacarons and deal 3000 damage

Man, it'd really be neat if Yugi got to do more Pharoh-free battles with stuff like the Gandora line and Silent monsters. The few he had were pretty great at least.

In my humble opinion I think the new dark magician support should pack more potent quick play spells.
I wish this had happened after the update. The Dark Magician would have a special animation when he finishes off the opponent.

Technically, Kaiba didn't lose as the duel got interupted, but it has been proven that, that facedown (which i believe was a poly if you retrace the duel) wouldn't have helped, so Yugi would've won

Yo Sam i have a challenge for you: Use Kuriboh deck and win using Kuribabylon.
Pre-Synchro, a Kaiba Deck really has no chance against a Yugi Deck. With the DSOD cards Yugi can get his monsters out way quicker and has a strong back row, while Kaiba only has beatdown and can only special summon a couple monsters at a time.
Now we know how Yugi stayed the King of Games after the Pharaoh left

(If this is after Atem left yugi I apologize as I haven’t yet seen the movie) but in case it is Atem dueling with Yugi, to make it more realistic you should have gotten physical decks but then allowed Yugi to search through his deck for every draw to replicate the pharaoh’s power
